Thinking about it I had quite a lonely childhood when school wasn't on, like at home or afterschool club. My Mum being a single mother struggled but I had my imagination and so all my memories were a lot of the time me alone (obviously with adult supervision but not with friends). It sounds so lonely and sad when I tell people but I think back and just view them as bright fun memories. Because all I needed was my imagination back then.

I was (am) was the same... .only child and moved around the world a fair bit so time often was spent alone: but I was never lonely - because being on my own was 'normal' for me and I didn't find it an issue not having siblings.

I piss myself laughing recalling all the daftness I used to get upto on my own - as you say: with my imagination. It was great fun!
