You labour under the illusion that all the rich people are down south and all the poor people are up north. And there is already a north/south pay divide. Key workers cannot afford to rent property in London because it is just too expensive, so it's hard to get teachers and nurses. But you seem happy for key workers in the south to suffer so long as those in the north don't seem to be earning less than those in the south.

Incidentally, Newham Council, the one that's trying to send the poor people up north, are Labour.
