Watched it last night on Facebook, started out good and I had respect for him - but as the video went on he just became an attention seeking ****.

If he'd actually just "questioned" the authority rather than hurl insults then maybe peoples opinions would be different Jack

..it's not about not questioning rules Jack..they wanted to talk to him about handbrake turns, which would have been 'breaking rules' if that's what he was doing...but he didn't give them much of a chance before he started abusing them.. he was completely unecessarily defensive and abusive and to me it was almost as if he was breaking the law, hoping the police would stop him..as if he had it all planned..but whether he did or not, his behaviour was completely provocotive ..and the only reason why 'backup' was called was because of that...he was basically an idiot, Jack...

Oh come on, I've said I don't condone the insults and it ruined his point a little but he said the bacon breath thing about three times in a nine minute video, I'd hardly say that's 'hurling insults'. The rest of the points he raised were fair ones.

It wasn't just the insults it was his tone, he came across as rude and aggressive

The quote was actually in reference to the chav remark which was an attempt at baiting, I'm not really bothered if people disagree with the man's conduct, that can easily be debated, there's now two separate issues going on in this thread. It's become the norm for people to throw that term about and perpetuate its smokescreen stereotype without really thinking about its implications even when presented with opportunities to, that's what I was referring to. As is the other quote I've just posted.

..but you can't say that you don't condone the insults and his attitude or behaviour and approve of anything else because that was the cause of it all...the police did nothing offensive or out of order with him...the whole thing was him and his attitude...

I didn't mind his tone that was fine, it was just the insults there was no need, he was doing totally fine without them.
He was as he said within his rights so if they had no reason to detain him that is all he need say.

And on a similar note, you don't think trying to open somebody's car door with no real reason to warrant it isn't intimidating? Not to mention calling for another seven or so police officers to stand around his car? So basically what you're saying is, you agree with his points but he shouldn't have put them across in that manner?

Asking him to step out of the car when he has no obligation to do so, and them attempting to imply that he does (without specifically saying so you'll notice) is out of order IMO. As he said, he can talk to them through the window, why does he need to step out of the car? He was well within his rights to not comply.

Not really, I don't know the full story tbh. Why did the Police pull him over in the first place?

..yeah, but if he wasn't obliged to then he could have spoken to them with much less agression and abuse and you can't say, that part wasn't ok Jack because that's what escalated the whole thing...and he did break the law with his handbrake turns in the first place, so they did have a right to stop him and talk to him....

But jack you can't have it both ways you posted this with laughing faces and he is perpetuating a stereotype, therefore you can't be cross when others do...
I do understand where you are coming from though, chav is the new yob that was the new hooligan...there will always be a derogatory label for nonconformists.
However something tells me this guy is not so lillywhite, call me columbo but I have a hunch

I don't agree that he's perpetuating a stereotype at all, it's people's preconceptions of what a 'chav' supposedly is that has led to people giving him this label, I mean we've not even seen his face or what he's wearing...which is supposed to make up what a 'chav' is. So people are going off the things he's said...does his strong Mancunian accent make him a 'chav'? Or as I said earlier, does insulting people make you a 'chav'? It seems to change every day.

Also I never posted a laughing smiley with the video, it was the worship smiley which was actually towards the points he was making, I never agreed with his use of the insults and felt he let himself down there, but that doesn't detract from the points he is making.

..yes, it does Jack..it completely detracts from any points he tried to make because he did break the law in that they were questioning him about handbrake turns, and if he had lost control of that car and hit someone..and hurt them..would you still think his attitude was valid...?..it could have been valid Jack, if he had done it right and spoken to them properly but he didn't and his attitude/insults etc were the whole thing...that's why they called for back up...but everytime they did anything, he just continued to insult them....
