As for the Glazers, I actually credit them. They could easily of gone for the big name to boost the brand, but they have trusted Fergie's word and have attempted to think long term. Highly doubt it's a case of wanting a yes man.
Fellaini wouldn't be allowed to use his arms like he does in Europe. As Drew said, he's a hot head. In Europe, you can barely do an 'effin thing nowadays.

Kagawa has showed glimpses but I'm convinced his future is out wide- he has hardly set the league alight down the middle. Cleverley is one to keep an eye on, next season he must start to show his worth otherwise he could end up being similar to Gibson. Scholes is gone, not getting games and I can't see him here next season. Giggs can't perform week in week out because of his age but still produces great displays. Jones isn't really one for going forward, will be an excellent CB. Anderson needs to go, 6 seasons and he really hasn't done a lot. We've really missed Fletch, but it's unlikely he'll play again. When you look at this, what does Fellaini add that is so outstanding? He isn't the type of world class player we need at the moment. The display against Chelsea shows how weak our midfield is without Carrick.
I don't think we have many other performers anyway in midfield. Cleverley offers nothing really for me. This guy just passes it short. Did sweet FA against Chelsea and some thought he did well. If well is making 2-3 noteworthy passes each game then deary me.
Anderson is just fat, inconsistent and injury prone.

Cleverley is 23, next season will be the real test. If he doesn't show his worth next season he is another name added to the list of deadwood and he'll end up at Stoke or something. I think his performance against Chelsea was a bit lacklustre, didn't really notice him. The whole team took their foot of the pedal and it showed. As I say, I'd give him one more season to prove himself. Agree about Anderson, hardly ever plays and when he does he doesn't do a lot.

He's no Scholes that's for certain. Who do you want us to sign in midfield, if not Fellaini?

I'd like a ballwinner and a playmaker. The former I'm not so sure. Strootman has been heavily, heavily linked but I haven't seen a whole lot of him. Saw him a bit at the weekend and had some nice touches, set up a nice move but I obviously can't base it on that.
In terms of a playmaker. The dream is Ilkay Gundogan ()at Dortmund. Christian Eriksen is leaving Ajax this summer, in the last year of his deal so will be going cheaper than you'd expect for someone with his talent. Also a fan of Joao Moutinho. I'd be chuffed with any of those three, especially the first two.

Eriksen would bring goals from midfield, he would be an exiting player to have. Gungogan played well against Real and from what I've seen looks a very good player too, 22 years old as well - room for development. The board will be tempted to go for the cheaper option and Moyes doesn't seem the type to disagree with that.

Yeah, Gundogan was absolute class. Plays great every time I see him. 22 years of age, plays like someone who's been running midfields for ten years.

Eriksen would be a bargain. If we don't even go for him then smfh.

Not sure I saw that Drew. Even so, if he said that then ROFL if this is him improving. No idea what Woy sees in him. That said, Woy thinks Ashley Young is England's best winger.

Really hasn't pushed on from the start of last season tbh. The guy is a five yard passing genius, however. Pass and move is nice to watch. And he always wants the ball it's just he gets it and passes it short all the time.

Just saw this also:

Chris Mendes (works for talkSPORT)

Cabbie in Manchester last week told me and @otheralexreid Fergie was about to retire on doctor's orders. No 'news' on replacement, sadly

Hope it just a general age concern, hope he is in general good health. He deserves to enjoy a long retirement.

I haven't seen that, if that's true he hasn't really lived up to expectations. If we get Gungodan or Eriksen he won't play anyway
