You can condemn all you like but you can't link the behaviour to his response..... she was being annoying and he was tired/hungry/ drunk/ constipated or whatever dumb excuse you like but he was wrong to do what he did even if he was furious end of.
NOTHING would fuel a rational man into doing that, no amount of horseplay or flirting.
