Rewatching it, it really is awful. The worst part isn't even the "two to tango" comment which has (pathetically) been backtracked on, with them now claiming she meant with the flirting. Which is utter nonsense. She quite clearly meant that they were both responsible for the situation getting out of hand in the safe house.

No, the worst part for me is this: "Hazel was willing to flirt till her heart was content". That comment is really loaded with blame... she might as well have said "She was being a slag so she was asking for it". Which is what a lot of people seem to think. I think Emma really revealed her own thoughts with that comment... most of the interview was clearly lead / staged but the exact phrasing won't have been scripted for her, and the way she's said it reveals a lot, I think she showed blatant bias. She didn't need to rip into him and vilify him, she just needed to be balanced, and she wasn't... she outright gave 50/50 "blame" to Hazel and allowed him to blame her and practically spit out her name without even commenting on the look on his face.

It's a shame because I really liked her as a presenter up until now... and there's a massive question mark over her now, for me. And that aside she showed her inexperience by not even asking the right questions - even if she WANTED to show him in a "redeeming" light she should have asked things like "Was it just that you were still playing and took the game to another level, but possibly she didn't realise your intentions and got scared?". He'd probably have been like "Hmm yeah... maybe it is that" because I personally think that's exactly what happened. Doesn't excuse him because you don't engage in that sort of "rough play" without being 100% sure that the other person knows the score and is OK with it / enjoys it. He didn't know, she wasn't OK, and he scared her. Completely his fault. The lead up to it / other flirting that went on is totally irrelevant.
