I like Sam, more as the show progresses. His one liners are funny and he seems the kind of person who doesn't rise easily to anger, but will absolutely stand their ground if pushed. He also stands by his friends. True loyalty is an admirable quality. To keep hold of that in such an environment is a good thing.

But mostly I like him because each time I've seen him come out of himself he's shown himself to be thoughtful, funny, and creative.

Who? Housemates or members? I'd never mock him for that. He is a nice guy, but I just don't see him as a winner.

He's about as funny as a terminal illness.

Exactly. So shouldn't it be illegal to exclude someone who has a disability and purely base their reason for winning down to their disability over someone who doesn't, just because they have a disability?

What you are doing is called positive discrimination.

His reasoning for wanting Sam to win is not down to his disability.

I had to read your post about 3 times and it still doesn't quite make sense, but ok.

I am not supporting him because of his disability. I am supporting him because of how he deals with it in the context of that house, and how he has managed to throw himself in there and not make it an issue.

Getting tired of saying this but he has my respect for exactly those reasons. Therefore he is my winner.

You would swear he was like Wolfy and going around saying how he is going to win for all the deaf people out there. If there was even a hint of that kind of attitude I would want him out.

Dana has also made a very good post outlining other reasons why I like him.

Now, Family Guy is on so hush a minute.

I'm pretty sure by saying "I respt his difficulities and how he has to deal with them" is indirectly referring to his disability.

It's like me saying "Shievonne deserved to stay longer than Deana because Shievonne is black and black people have it harder in the real world than Asians do".

But if he didn't have a disability, you wouldn't support him as he wouldn't be dealing with anything. Correct?

Sam went into BB knowing that he'd hav a harder time than the other housemates, but he should also be treated equally just as every other housemate is.

If Gina and Sophie (2 other harmless housemates) both had hearing difficulties and they had to deal with them in the house, would you support them too?

What is wrong with having respect for his difficulties? Anybody should respect that I'm sure being deaf can be a right pain in the ass sometimes.

Cynical hermit has also stated he likes Sam because of his characteristics and who he is as a person, that is why I believe he wants him to win.

Then in theory you like Callum and Gina as they are the two housmates that give him the most time of day and understanding to his disability?

That's not what i'm saying. You are putting words in my mouth. Take what I say as read. There is no hidden meaning to be taken out of it.

Yes, yes and yes (if they dealt with them in similar ways)

I've given you my reasoning in a simple sentence. What is so hard to understand about that, I don't quite know.

Perhaps, I quite liked Callum anyway but I doubt Ginas sincerity at times.

But here we are again going on about his disability, we should put that aside for once and understand Sam for who he is. He might not be the most active housemate but some people can relate to his personality and demeanour and that's totally fine in my book.

There's nothing to find hard to understand at all. It's just the fact that you are blatantly denying supporting Sam beause of his disability when you clearly stated that if he didn't have a hearing disability and didn't have to deal with it then you wouldn't support him.

I respect the way he is dealing with his issues in this life, in this context, not in some imaginary world where he isnt dealing with them.

I don't know what other way I can say it.

I'm done with this thread, i'm out.
