One of the most bizarre incidents was when Edele starting going off at Gary just because he had said "You aren't making sense."
How on earth is that rude? People say it all the time and if someone like Dee had said it then Edele wouldn't have said a word. |

How can Gary tell when the HMs are slagging him off?
When he sees their lips are mov8ing. How can HMs tell when Gary's being rude to them? When they hear voices in their heads. |

It's definitely more diplomatic to say "I don't follow what you're saying, or I don't understand" rather than accuse someone of not making sense. So yeah, you either get that some people might take offense even if you don't mean to cause offense - or you don't. Social interactions can sometimes require a bit of finesse and most people can do with a bit of refining in certain situations. If you aren't capable of coping diplomatically with people who may be sensitive to certain things, then so be it. |

Whether some things he has done are what may be termed as 'rude' although I cannot say I have come across anything myself.
He is at a disadvantage in there with his disabilities, people with hearing problems often also have balance problems so I would be allowing for him bumping into people or even swaying towards them at times. One of my Aunts has hearing problems and is often not only running into people but into things as well. However, whether rude or not, one thing a really rude person doesn't do is apologise, so even from the examples of some maybe at best borderline things on here, that is something Gary seems to do quickly and without any coaxing to do either, hardly the actions of a rude person at all. Hopefully he will realise that a vast amount of the public love him and admire his way of coping with things, it certainly hasnt been easy for him. |

Exactly, when you're dealing with people from different cultures, social finesse can be even more significant. I'll never love Gary or any of the others in there - but I'll appreciate those that entertained me. I don't think he'll change, not sure if he's capable at his age and with whatever limitations he may have. I'll not be surprised if at the end he claims all sorts in there for making him a better person however. I don't think any of the others will change due to coming into contact with him or each other either - due to their limitations or whatever. If some people find him inspirational, then that's very nice for them. Last edited by Tip; 06-09-2014 at 06:09 PM. |

Gary says "what" and "shush" and "you aren't making sense". The other housemates say to, or about, gary "I'm not here to babysit", "that's what you get for being an arsehole", "if only we had learned sign language", "Im glad the 2 freakos are outside" etc etc. Do you see the huge gulf between them? |

All opinions on what we actually see and hear will always vary to a degree but there is a huge gulf between the facts here and what is claimed. If someone walked into a very dimly lit garage and they see a piece of coiled rope on the floor ahead of them, then they run out screaming "snake" - this is a misunderstanding. If that person walked into a very brightly lit garage, saw the coil of rope, recognised it as such, then they still run out screaming "snake", then they are lying attention seekers. Yet, worse than that person are those who witness the incident, also recognise the coil of rope, but then not only readily go along with the lying attention seeker's version of events, but actually perversely delight in propagating the lies. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

He just appears to be like a typical American to me. The kind I see in hotels when I travel. Shouty, demanding, yacking on and on, particularly about what it is like to be American. It appears to be rude but it's not really. Just very annoying,

Gary is not rude at all. But now I actually want him to be very rude to that bullying obnoxious lot in there cos they deserve it!

You can't have concrete examples because the producers, for whatever reason, never show them.
However, the evidence from evictees seems pretty consistent. The man is awful to live with. |

Stated as fact, where in reality we have only the word of a bunch of evicted housemates how say it, and these are the same ones that thought it fine to gang up on an individual, and try and brow beat him and bully him. Hardly a respectable source

2. I can't refute but its much less than what others have done 3. He meant Dee could nominate him soon!! thats all - and guess what she did, and also that conversation and several others between Dee and Gary have shown Dee to be ruder of the two. Of all the abuse received in the house Kellie, Audley and Gary have received the most, from the likes of James. |
