So wait, where exactly is the massive HYPOCRITE front page headline splashed over Bob Geldof's mug? Or is that OK because he advocates for brown people in dusty countries from his expensive home?
Surely, until he is living in a mud Hut drinking dirty water, his message is an utter sham!
It's been said plenty already but here's the truth of it: if you are struggling to make it in Britain, you can speak out for everyone but no one is listening. If you do "make it" and try to speak out for those who are struggling, you will be shot down as a hypocrite. The long and short of it: the press is controlled by people whose interests lie in not giving the vast majority of people in Britain any sort of voice.
brand speaks out endlessly not on behalf of "the poor" but for all normal citizens who are oppressed by the landed elite (yes, all of us, whether we care to admit it or not). He should be applauded for it but the press without fail is waiting to tear him down.
The suggestion that he can't or shouldn't say anything unless he gives up all of his own money and influence is ridiculous and circular. Of he gave up his celebrity lifestyle he would fade into obscurity and go unheard, like every other person who believes in social justice. A mouse desperately squeaking at a hurricane.
