Carrying a bunch of keys is not illegal arista. Carrying pepper spray is, no matter how good an idea it seems. Anyway, what if the attacker takes it off you? What if there are more than one of them? How about if you get caught in the spray, which is highly likely? And even if none of those things happen you can be arrested for carrying a weapon.

Unless you're a police officer, step away from the pepper spray.
