We are still fairly repressed in the UK when it comes to freedom of expression and speech. There is a very fine line regarding what the British are allowed to say and what will get them raked over the hot coals and Hopkins walks on that knife edge.

People have always only been judged by the things they have done inside the house.

This is why Dappy (who is inarguably a worse human being than Hopkins) ended up leaving loved by the public and coming 2nd place, Adam from Deana's civilian series who had a stint in prison left to a very similar reaction, and then theres our national treasures like Goodyear and Vinnie Jones who left to vicious boos.

It's been this way as long as I remember and although it's annoying and it shouldn't be the case at all, it just is. People are judged by the things that they do inside the house and very little else, accept it and move on!

Big Brother is a competition where the public votes for one of the contestants to win, presumably because they believe that person has qualities worth praising.
So her comments where she crudely mocks a woman who is near death are very relevant to a popularity based show like Big Brother.

Tbf, I have seen lots of comments from people blaming Katie for issues that she has not commented on. One popular one seems to be her opinions directly lead to increasing numbers of people becoming terrorists.

How the housemates are outside the house is very relevant especially celeb bb because how they have been outside the house is usually the catalyst for them being selected to go in the house, therefore it is very relevant to discuss how they have been outside the house, they do belong to us for the few weeks of bb.

I was quite amazed they moved the nurse to England and even more concerned that health workers were not thoroughly checked and in quarantine before coming back to the UK. Several tests were not carried out, it seems.

I was more concerned about that aspect than KH mocking the Scots. It is what she and others like Private Eye have been lampooning for years.

By making more of her posts, you give her publicity, so if you want her silenced, ignore her.

Once she was in the UK the priority was getting her the best available treatment. If Ebola erupted in Scotland it would not stop at Hadrian's Wall. They made the right call and it worked. However I agree that they should do more tests before letting someone come back to the UK.

Mocking Scots was the least of the issues. She mocked a dying person on twitter. Private eye have never stooped to that level. There's nothing normal or sane about that comment.

I find all the pouring over KH's past comments pretty tedious really. Yes a lot of them are disgusting, yes she's trying to be controversial for the sake of it, yes she said this, yes she said that, is it the sort of thing we all need to lose our heads over daily because of it. A lot of celebrity housemates have questionable views and questionable careers, it's what makes them attractive prospects for producers. I'm not normally one to say 'judge them by how they are in the house' because I think it's fair enough to base a dislike of someone on them saying stuff like this, and doing so unashamedly for publicity, but when we're three weeks into this series and still going on about it there's not much productive discussion to be had really.
