Good point. A surprising number of shrinks and therapists are high functioning sociopaths. I guess its because they can fit in and adapt to nearly any situation and because they are good at focussing on others, whilst feeling nothing.

Just because someone is an particular job that should hold certain standards doesn't mean they do. I mean I have come across plenty of Teachers who seem to hate kids and don't even get me started on Priests and Nuns who are supposed to represent "a loving God"...............

My dads a consultant psychiatrist and I grew up with conversations around the dinner table about how peoples minds work or how depressed he was because everyone patient he's seen that week are less mental than he is! He has told me on numerous occasions that sociopaths, especially those going to medical school, have a keen fascination with the human mind and so often go into the mental health sector. For the record, there are many high functioning sociopaths who go through life without any problems. They tend to have keen minds and climb to the top of their chosen career ladder because they simply don't have emotions to hold them back.
