I'd be a bit worried about someone living in UK who doesn't understand celcius tbh. I've never heard of anyone using both scales in Ireland or Portugal either.

been that way in the UK for longer than anyone on Tibb can remember

everyone understands both but we use both. Unlike say the USA we use -3 C but never 27F

we say that temps will be in the 80s but never in the 20s when talking about summer

summer temps usually get F but we also use C but winter we tend to stick to C
