She's Aldi Chloe Wilburn with a showmance. Chloe was like Ellie - insecure, insistent she's normal, and don't get me started on the accent and 'chuffing'. I know I'm probably waaay off the mark, but when they cast her, they surely must have picked up on her similarities to Chloe, and are pushing for Ellie since she's so endearing for being 'dead normal', etc etc and they probably think the public prefer that to the more controversial characters which have been criticised
