After looking into Keir Starmer, there's a lot of 'maybes', 'possibles' and 'probablys' regarding his apparent involvement in this case. I don't think I've found one source that's said that he was definitely involved in the decisions regarding sentencing. The only thing people seem to be latching onto is that he was the director at the time without providing any kind of proof that he had a hand in not pursuing a longer sentence.
I don't pick up pitchforks and torches on a 'probably'.
