If he had a knife then i could believe he went with the intention of harming someone..he didnt though, he went with a screwdriver..a tool i would imagine a burglar may need both to get in and once in!

When I was a girl I knew some boys who lived on our estate and went a party. There was an argument and they were asked to leave. They went back armed, one of them with a screwdriver. A boy was killed by the screwdriver to his brain and the boy who did it went to jail. He was the older brother of a girl I was friendly with, nice family generally. He went back with the screwdriver and his intent wasn't DIY. People have been using screwdrivers as weapons for years. Sad but true.

To assume the screwdriver was taken to unscrew something is a very naive view.

If you go tooled up into any situation, you have to be aware.it can be taken from you and used against you. The fact that he apparently had the screwdriver to the home owner's throat shows he had the intent to use it as a weapon

And you're summising that he took a screwdriver to unscrew things during a night time robbery with the occupants at home? Not sure why you are trying to defend this man, I can get your stance on the relatives and flowers and whole traveller community and agree in some extent to that but the man was robbing the house of 2 oaps....armed with an offensive weapon, whether he intended to use it as a weapon is immaterial, he was breaking the law and committing a crime end of.

Nothing when using it to fix something. Everything when taking it to a victim’s house who you intend to rob in the middle of the night - especially OAPs. Sorry I don’t agree with you on this Parmy. It was a disgusting thing to do and far from being the first time he had done it. I see absulutly no valid reason to defend him.
