I don't even know what era it was, I was just throwing darts at a calender kid. IMO she has not been interesting in nearly twenty years.

Never will be a performer of any kind - will never get to present anything - as people kept claiming. Complete pillock!

Then why the puzzling and needless comparison between the two? He finds Marcus entertaining. Many people do.

[Patiently awaits follow up comment along the lines of ''If that's your idea of entertainment...'']

Just as many find Leona entertaining! It is hardly surprising that someone would pass comment on a fan of Marcus Akin accusing others of overrating Leona Lewis.

Just as many find Leona entertaining? No ****. I hadn't of guessed.

I don't see why he can't think Leona is overrated just because he likes a housemate you don't. I find Leona overrated and I think Marcus is one of the most entertaining housemates ever.

The two are still irrelevant. Shall we go back and forth over the laundry list of Big Brother housemates who have less talent than Leona? Just how long have you got?

In your opinion. That's still pretty useless grounds for a comparison between a fucking window cleaner and an international pop superstar.

Just my point really - a window fitter is all he is ever likely to be! Doesn't appeal to the masses!

On the TV advert for her album, the only song used is 'Happy', instead of 2/3/4 like most albums advertised have.

If that is the best she has got, then she is in trouble.

Not going to stay around long with shite like that.

I can just see the scene now! Patrick, are you that bitch leona! SHut up and sign this autograph. NEver mind, you suck anyways! walks off fuming!!!

But really though, I havent like Leona since after the xfactor. I know she has had commercial success and everything, but with her voice which is for me perfect, regardless of what type of music she sings, they couldve done so much better with her, even with the debut album. I think her management sucks. I think she should hook up with Timbeland, or P Diddy, or someone who has an edge in modern music. Leona' songs are old fashioned, even her new ones, they all seem to be like copying Mariah Carey from the early 90's. If she continues this route, I dont think she will have the commercial appeal for very long.

It's probably because she's only had one single out from the new album while other artists may release 2. No point in playing a snippet of music no one's heard of before it won't make an impact.

Avatar's success could play into Leona's own. If the song does well in the Oscars then it could give her more longevity in America.

If that is the case why did her Sticky and Sweet Tour became the highest grossing tour by a solo artist?

Good point about Avatar but I'm not sure if she can sustain her elevated position in music for that much longer, do you? She has a nice voice but it's her personality that leaves alot to be desired as well as her obvious lack of variety in performances. She'll still make money for a long time but she's getting abit dull at this stage.

Not necessarily. Plenty of bands still do huge tours off the back of what they used to be.

Why does every thread have to turn into a Madonna thread?

But Madonna likes to record new material and sing it on her tours. She has said that she loves singing new songs because sometimes she dont want to just sing her old songs all time ( Take her dislike of singing Like A Virgin now for example)

Jesus christ Harry, I know she has new material, I just don't like her and don't think she has done anything nearly as interesting or meaningful as what she used to do!

How many people would go to her gigs for new songs though? I reckon the main part of the audience are people who were fans of her in the 80's and such, I doubt many teenagers and such would go to a Madonna Gig as she hasn't had as many hits in 80's and 00's comapred to the 80's and such.

She hasn't been REALLY relevant in years although Confessions on a Dancefloor gave her some Kudos.

Alright Stu I get your point, I misread your post a bit. That is all.

And Dezzy many new fans love her material, Hard Candy album was the album that got me hooked listening to Madonna's music and I was youngish then.
Plus I would say it depends on when you was born really, A new generation for there to be interest with every album. Her studio albums this decade have all been number 1.
