We rescued her from a crappy home when I was pregnant with my daughter. Understandably, she's distraught. They've 'grown up' together.

I feel empty and not sure what to do. Keep randomly crying. Not sure I'll make much sense today but sitting doing nothing just makes me think :/

But hey, she went out on St.Georges Day and a massive thunderstorm. In style eh?

Can I add my name to say I'm so sorry for your loss. Only those that have loved their pets and seen them ill and pass away can know the immense bond that is broken and the distress and upset.

I just hope one day you will have the strength to adopt a new friend. There are lots of pets out there to love and need love.

Sorry to hear KerKer but you knew Tara was not well so expecting it? I still understand a loss - not a great time - hope your daughter does not miss Tara too much and gets past this bad time.

Big hugs Kerry - so sad losing a much loved pet and it's one of the most horrible gut wrenching feelings.

Missing her just shows how much you loved her: and an animal living and enjoying that love, would have had a very happy life.

I'm sure Tara would have had a great life and brought you lots of joy and has left you with some wondeful memories. Try to focus on that and the fact that she's not in pain or suffering.

Sorry to hear that, we lost our dog in November when she was 11 and it was absolutely heartbreaking but it does get better I promise. It feels like you've lost a close relative doesn't it? Stay strong.

It may not seem like the right thing to do atm but one of the best things you can do is get a new dog soon. Although you may feel like you may be "replacing" Tara getting a puppy will remind you of all of those good times as she grew up and memories will come flooding back. We did this and it got so much easier, not only was our minds taken off the loss of our old dog but as I said, it caused long forgotten memories of her as a youngster coming back.

Sorry Pyramid*, I removed the quote because I thought it was silly to delete the post but leave it quoted in the next post down.

Seriously....what is wrong with you?

Either read Kerry's post, or at least try to avoid such completely inane ramblings. Someone's lost a dearly loved pet and you come out with nonsense like this.

Aww reminds me of our dog dying of old age. He couldnt even get up to have a sh!t near the end. It was a relief when he died and was out of his misery. He had a good innings.

Have you thought of having her stuffed? A neighbour of my Mums did this when her cocker spaniel died. She sat him next to her chair in the living room and would even stroke him whilst watching Emmerdale like he were still alive. Gave her comfort apparently. Personally I'd find that a bit creepy.

Erm no, I won't be having her stuffed...

She's been cremated and we're thinking of doing something for her in our garden where she'd love to lay in the sunshine

Again. Thankyou for your kind words. (Not sure what else has gone on and been deleted but thats probably for the best)

We are thinking of getting a pup when we can. I'll be looking at rescue centres. Tara was rescued in a sense (bad home before us) and our cat was too. The house just doesn't have the right noises at the moment if that makes sense? No snores from her basket or snorts when she sneezes and whacks her face like a daft bugger. A pup won't replace her but remind of the good one day

x

No I didn't mean it in a rude way.

I just thought like Kerry's Daughter was called Tara because she mentioned her Daughter before and I got it confused.

Sorry Kerry x
