If he'd actually just "questioned" the authority rather than hurl insults then maybe peoples opinions would be different Jack

Oh come on, I've said I don't condone the insults and it ruined his point a little but he said the bacon breath thing about three times in a nine minute video, I'd hardly say that's 'hurling insults'. The rest of the points he raised were fair ones.

It wasn't just the insults it was his tone, he came across as rude and aggressive

..it's not about not questioning rules Jack..they wanted to talk to him about handbrake turns, which would have been 'breaking rules' if that's what he was doing...but he didn't give them much of a chance before he started abusing them.. he was completely unecessarily defensive and abusive and to me it was almost as if he was breaking the law, hoping the police would stop him..as if he had it all planned..but whether he did or not, his behaviour was completely provocotive ..and the only reason why 'backup' was called was because of that...he was basically an idiot, Jack...

Watched it last night on Facebook, started out good and I had respect for him - but as the video went on he just became an attention seeking ****.

You're saying I'm not thinking because I have more respect for the police than a yobbish chav? oh that's cool

The quote was actually in reference to the chav remark which was an attempt at baiting, I'm not really bothered if people disagree with the man's conduct, that can easily be debated, there's now two separate issues going on in this thread. It's become the norm for people to throw that term about and perpetuate its smokescreen stereotype without really thinking about its implications even when presented with opportunities to, that's what I was referring to. As is the other quote I've just posted.

I didn't mind his tone that was fine, it was just the insults there was no need, he was doing totally fine without them.
He was as he said within his rights so if they had no reason to detain him that is all he need say.

But jack you can't have it both ways you posted this with laughing faces and he is perpetuating a stereotype, therefore you can't be cross when others do...
I do understand where you are coming from though, chav is the new yob that was the new hooligan...there will always be a derogatory label for nonconformists.
However something tells me this guy is not so lillywhite, call me columbo but I have a hunch

I don't agree that he's perpetuating a stereotype at all, it's people's preconceptions of what a 'chav' supposedly is that has led to people giving him this label, I mean we've not even seen his face or what he's wearing...which is supposed to make up what a 'chav' is. So people are going off the things he's said...does his strong Mancunian accent make him a 'chav'? Or as I said earlier, does insulting people make you a 'chav'? It seems to change every day.

Also I never posted a laughing smiley with the video, it was the worship smiley which was actually towards the points he was making, I never agreed with his use of the insults and felt he let himself down there, but that doesn't detract from the points he is making.

..yes, it does Jack..it completely detracts from any points he tried to make because he did break the law in that they were questioning him about handbrake turns, and if he had lost control of that car and hit someone..and hurt them..would you still think his attitude was valid...?..it could have been valid Jack, if he had done it right and spoken to them properly but he didn't and his attitude/insults etc were the whole thing...that's why they called for back up...but everytime they did anything, he just continued to insult them....

I was referring to him perpetuating a stereotype due to his own misconceptions of the police.
I have not suggested this man is a 'chav'.
The insults do detract from the point he is making jack, they make a huge difference as it changes the whole connotation of the conversation.

I'm surprised by the bias in this thread. Yes the guy acts like a tw*t but the police are supposedly trained to 'deal' with the public. In whatever form that takes.

There was no kind of threatening behavior from the man. There was certainly no sign of any kind of weapon so the police had absolutely no right to ask him to leave his car or call for back up. They were right to drive off when they did cus they knew there was no crime being committed and they no doubt saw he was filming. If they had done anything other than drive away they would have looked heavy handed.

He was within his right with his actions but he could have been a bit more polite. I'd have liked to have seen what would have happened if he wasn't filming tbh.

His accent was really annoying. Stopped watching at the bacon breath bit as it just seemed to be going on and on. Saying that though police can be proper twats, they just have an air of smugness about them that I hate.

Here's a similar sort of video:

Hes a gobby ****e with no respect. He wasn't harassed or alarmed, we know this by the way he giggles to himself when the police can't hear.

I hope if a man breaks into his house, he'd remind the police that they do not have a permit.

Such a dick

This is how you handle the situation tbh. Also an actual legit case of Police harassment

"Barnet is a Nice area with lots of Burglaries so we are stopping you"

"Barnet being a bad area and you having a nice car means we stopped you.."

wait..what

"Im in heated seats, I didnt pay for this car to stand by it" Epic

..I only watched the first one BL..I'll watch the second one later..but their whole attitude was different..they questioned the police but weren't insulting or offensive..and yes, they were right to question the police, it was completely legitimate as they hadn't done anything..and all through it they were respectful in making their points...for me, that was completely different from the guy in the OP vid, because he actually excalated the situation by his attitude and abusive stance....

That video was actually painful to watch..the police have more than enough to deal this without vile twats like these.
