A Stranger Came Ashore, this one first book read at school.

This first book i ever read of my own accord was Flowers In The Attic, Virgina Andrews, it was brilliant, i've been actually thinking of buying it again to see if i still like it has much as i did nearly 20 years on.

I never got into them, but I do remember reading something like them when I got too old for Enid Blyton.. can't remember what though.

I think I started reading grown up books quite young actually.. I read every single one of Virginia Andrews books and the whole "Rhanna" series by Christine Marion Fraser (which, if you want a good read that'll make you laugh and cry all at the same time, you should try)

They're set on a fictional Scottish Island (Rhanna) and basically just follow the lives and loves and losses of a couple of the families.. I've just made them sound really crap, but I promise you, they're fantastic..

And I've just found out there's 8 books in the series!! and I don't think I've read them all! Yay

I think I'll maybe give them all a read again actually.. Honestly Niamh, go and read some of the reviews online.. they really are brilliant (as is her other series "Kings Croft" or summat)

Oh I love the Faraway Tree!!! I can remember our teacher reading it to us at the end of the school day. I bought it for my daughter a few years back but she said it was too young for her

Might read it myself.....

Yeah Roald Dahl books for me too. What do you mean sadistic? I can't really remember the stories, just titles.

Like that one where the kid tries to kill his grandmother so he goes in the shed and finds loads of random stuff. But she ends up turning big I think. Also that girl who points her finger
