I don't feel any real connection to Ireland or Italy just because a genetic test said that that's where my biological ancestors came from. I thought i would, but i don't.

..yeah, it's funny how some people say that they feel strong biological connections to certain things and others don't feel anything at all...I always find it fascinating with people like identical twins/or twins who have been separated and haven't known of each others existence and then when they do find out and meet, they see how similar their lives/choices have been....

yea, but remember ammi, they got in the news because it was a strange story, most biological twins that were separated probably don't feel that way. the news only focuses on strange and unique stories. if it was a story about biological twins that didn't have any kind of connection or similarities it doesn't make the news.

The media can really **** up your perception that way.

The media (US and UK) only report on exceptional stories, so you really can't judge reality based on the news media, which is only telling you the exciting stories. They only tell you the stories and cases they think are sensationalist enough to get people's attention.

They are a business that makes their profit from the number of people watching, and the more sensationalist the story, the more people watch. and the more the people that watch, the higher the price they can sell advertising.

..yeah, I guess you're right Alex, I hadn't really thought of it that way...going off topic again, there is a great book called The Girls by Lori Lansens about conjoined twin..(girls obviously..), Rose and Ruby and if you ever get the chance to read it, I would totally recommend it, it's extremely thought provoking and a lovely bitter-sweet story...

..yeah I know what you mean about talking about books/movies etc with people..book clubs are good for that and maybe also somewhere to meet people as well..?...'your guy' could be a bookworm, Alex...(waiting to discuss all the books he has read with you..)...anyway, I have to go and start my day...I have a feeling that if we knew each other in real life, we would spend many, many hours chatting about lots of different stuff and sharing views..some really chilled and great conversations..well, I think we do that anyway and it's always a pleasure...you heave a great day/afternoon/evening young man..take care......
