on Raph's defence he didn't hate her for having fake tits, he talked bad about her because she lied about sexual harassment which is disgusting and disrespectful to actual victims, he did use that word but thats not why he talked **** about her.

I just don't get the 'slut', 'slapper', 'slag' thing in general anyway. First and foremost they're misogynistic insults that are only ever directed at women (their very definitions denote they're about women too), when as Luke has just pointed out, Kieran, Tom and Joe have talked about sex and the number of women they've slept with, and have not had the same insults levelled at them?

Secondly, I just don't get why anyone cares about how many people others have slept with? Why does it matter and why does it define what kind of person they are? I just don't ~get it~, I've really never understood the relevance it has to anybody's character. If someone wants to sleep with 350 people, all power to you, it's your body and you can do what you want. Similarly if you wouldn't want to do that yourself that's fine, that's your personal preference. Why do we need to judge people for what goes on in people's private lives (I realise on a TV show it's shared but that's beside the point)?

What disheartens me the most is that it's usually women who level these insults at other women. Is the patriarchal order really that bad that you're using misogynistic insults towards members of your own sex? It just makes me despair.

I'd forgotten about the Jack stuff actually, I've just read through a load of old threads and it continued in that vein. I pointed out in a couple of them that he was constantly in a position where he couldn't win support on this forum - on launch night he was derided as someone who was gonna play up the 'bubbly' persona and not really do much and still win. And then, when he was the complete opposite (and hysterical with it, btw) he was still hated. I maintain a lot of that was due to his appearance.

There's absolutely double standards and inconsistency on this forum, the same people who were criticising Lateysha's hate were calling Jason a 'thug' and a 'beast' and those who criticised that were calling Lateysha a 'whale'. I just find it all so pathetic, and furthermore it is just childish, why can't we just discuss housemate's characters...that is the point of the show?

Jack was a good Housemate I'll agree with you on that Jack.

I noticed he was getting better responses on here when people realised that Chloe had took the role that people was worried that Jack was gonna take, but he was never gonna be a Forum favourite because he was overweight, and the general public are never nice about the Jack's of the show anyway so he was lucky to bag 4th place.

I still use cat ladies on other forums/social media tbh, I respect that it's banned on here so I won't use it on here again but it won't stop me from using it elsewhere or IRL I don't see the harm in it but if it is offending people on here then I do get why it's better to ban the use of the word.

I thought cat ladies meant women who acted catty, which is like a character trait, right? Though honestly, I never really noticed it used. I guess that I decide if a thread is likely to be something I'm interested in by the headline, so I must have accidentally missed the ones where everyone was trolling.

But it did remind me of several years ago, when I had live feeds for the US show, and they had these chat rooms. And there were some chat rooms that would ban you if you didn't like this woman Janelle. For some reason, I just never cared for her, but I mean, I had to be careful if and where I said it!

That said, I try not to take Big Brother forums/chats, etc, too seriously. I mean, c'mon, it's a game show!

This thread isn't just about people slyly being attacked using "cat ladies" its also about the double standards on here and the fact some people get away with what others get a ban for, and its time it was all brought into the open and thrashed out ,then stopped, there should be no rule for one and one for another, ALL members should be treat equally

Actually this has been an interesting much needed discussion apart from the odd pointless baiting post.

If you think someone is trolling then report it and if it needs dealt with it will be.

And honestly anyone claiming they posted the cat ladies thing not knowing it was an insult is a liar.
