As you know the golden rule is "do not discuss members", something which people are happy to remind others of all the time when it suits them.

I actually can't see the point in stereotyping facebook voters with insulting names. If talking about facebook voters why not just say...facebook voters? I also don't get how they are all lumped together as if one entity. Even 'facebook voters' have different opinions and aren't going to be voting for the same person

I have barely been on facebook this season but I am guessing from the need to insult the people who are on there, most of them favour 'the clique' over the 'outsiders'? And this is the need for the insults?

I call my bestie a slapper sometimes,in dictionary terms it's not that bad I don't think,a promiscuous or vulgar woman. I suppose for a bloke it would be a stud, although we call guys slappers aswell I've been a bit of a slapper myself back in the day

Definitely wasn't. I remember various posts casually suggesting he's a domestic abuser. Some of the stuff said about Lateysha was definitely horrid but awful things were said on both sides of that ridiculous fan war.

And yeah, the whole "catladies" thing is annoying too.

This seems to happen every year with one male housemate. They are made out to be woman beaters and all sorts for...having an argument/disagreement with a female. The one I think that annoyed me most was Aaron in BB12...for no reason at all he was made out to be a thug (whilst jay was punching the floor and stuff in anger :S ) and even BOTS made him out to be a wifebeater. I believe it was Nicola McClean who said this with glee. All because Aaron said he did not like a dress Faye put on. It is bizarre the leaps people make and quite how far they are willing to go to discredit someone they dislike. Stuff like womanbeater can stay with someone for life, is it really worth labelling another person that simply as you dislike them in a TV show?!

Who do you think is the "one ringleader" because I'd genuinely like to know. It sounds to me like you just can't handle other people having different opinions to you, so you explain it as people being in some sort of conspiracy hostile clique.

I've NEVER seen anyone call another member a cat lady, I've only ever seen it used in a lighthearted manner to describe the old women on facebook that support certain housemates.

No offence but it's kind of a mess that posts calling housemates "slappers, slags, cumsluts, fat bitches" etc still remain on the forum but we're now apparently not allowed to try and explain why someone on Big Brother got a certain number of votes. Sometimes people DO vote by thinking with their penises and if I want to say that then I bloody well will.

Because it's a bit of fun and not nearly as offensive as some of the other things posted on here.

Carry on but don't moan if you go to far and get banned

I have tried to explain from a point of view as a mod, thats all. I did clarify a little further in the thread what I meant by this(which seems to have been accepted) but if you want to keep having this attitude, perfectly fine.

Also there is a difference between insulting members/voters and housemates. I personally don't agree with the slappers/sluts/whatever comments but a degree of insults is expected when you go on such a show. We cannot really disallow negative comments about housemates but we can enforce rules about insulting people who are not in the house.

I was going to respond to this thread earlier, but it's turned into such a mess, it's hard to know where to start.

Someone referred to me (along with a few others) as a "Cat lady" in here on Thursday, and that person is on this very page and still denying it. I've seen it used three times in the past week alone, so I have no idea why some say it's mostly aimed at those on FB. Maybe the reason why some don't find it offensive is because it isn't directed at them and it's coming from a member from their clique?

I'd also like to add that whenever an eviction result comes in, I usually stay away from TIBB to avoid any sort of confrontation, but upon visiting the forum on Friday morning, it was full of Isobelle supporters in Lotan threads gloating and expressing their joy with a display of gifs and smilies. This kind of behaviour needs nipping in the bud - and on both sides. At the end of the day, all this childish nonsense needs to stop and people need to grow up and get over themselves, (myself included). It would be nice if we could all get along, but it's never going to happen. The mods have made their points clear, so we should all now be aware of what's tolerated and what isn't. No excuses.

Firstly I wasn't trying to have an attitude so sorry if it came across that way.

Also I accept that we shouldn't go too far when talking about voters/viewers and I'll try not to. But I also hope that some of the more extreme comments about housemates will be dealt with properly because not only are they nasty and unnecessary but they cause reactions from people and bring the whole mood of the forum down.

Yeah I agree with this, it was just blatant baiting and I think the rules should remain in those "get _____ out" threads as they do with fan threads, that only support/fans should be allowed to post in there. I didn't report however because I don't generally ever report things as I rarely feel strongly enough to, just think it was a bit immature.

There have been a few people banned recently for extreme insults.

The problem we have is its not really an extreme insult to call someone a slapper or something. If the post is just filled with a load of hate, it will be dealt with however if its just a normal post that says slapper in it then thats not actually breaking the rules, as annoying as it is

Your post did come across as extremely defensive and with an attitude, if it wasn't meant that way then fair enough

Also what Nancy. said is true. This is why we have decided to just ban the whole catladies thing. It was being used by various members to insult members on here. yes some use it to stereotype facebook voters but a few use it as a way to insult members and get away with it. As such, its easier to just ban it alltogether. Its a useless term anyway tbh..as I said earlier facebook voters aren't a hive mind, they have different opinions and just lumping them all togehter as most of them dislike housemates that the forum likes is a bit silly. If the opinion on facebook was that the 'outsiders' were fabulous, catladies wouldn't be used. Kind of like how twitter users are usually insulted and 'they talk crap, horrible opinions' 'teenyboppers voting for the hot guy' and such but since this year twitter seem more favorable towards this forums chosen ones, the insults towards them have stopped too. 'Catladies' 'teenyboppers' etc is just a way of writing off a whole bunch of viewers' opinions just because they don't match the forums chosen ones. Its quite childish tbh

In short as I know that was fairly long...catladies has been used to insult forum members, members doing this thought they were being sly about it but they weren't, and the term is now banned as many have found out recently when they used it after finding out that it was banned.
