When I was really small it was always our local Kwik Save ("The Kwiks")

Later they went here, there and everywhere. Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Aldi, Iceland...

OK Bazaar I think...in South Africa.
Then when we moved to the then Rhodesia, some Asian owned corner shop, where most stuff was under the counter (sanctions), plus the butchers, bakers, the pharmacy that was a soda store.

Is it dating myself to say Somerfields? I don't even know which one bought them out, I'd assume Morrisons? The one in town turned into a Wilko so idfk what actually killed them off.

Edit: nvm, the Co-Op bought them out in 2009.

Local Spar or if we voyaged to the City Dunnes Stores although my Dad used to grow his own veg and we had our own meat, I remember hating lettuce as he grew so much of it

My dad likes Lidl and my mom likes Tesco, so a mix of those. My favourite is Asda though so sometimes there too.

Sainsburys for the 'main shop' but my mother used to go to the co-op almost daily too

A habit I seem to have picked up and can't shake, even though it ends up making me spend an extra hundred quid or so a week when I dont really need to..as our shop is ridiculousdly priced really

My Mum is a Sainsbury's girl to this day. But when I was little we used to buy our meat from a proper butcher (Mum still has a proper butcher) and all our fruit and veg from a stall in Green Street market. Sadly, that historic market is almost 100% Asian now, as is the population of the surrounding area, so if you're looking for ordinary British goods, you're out of luck. When I was little it was really vibrant and properly multi-cultural... now there aren't any white people left.

Sainsburys cafe used to be lush, when i went with my mother to do the shopping we always got something.

My grandma used to go to asda, and again, when I was with her we got something in the cafe which I remember to be really nice. I tried an asda cafe not long ago (not many of them seem to have them now...) and it was awful...not sure if its actually gone hugely downhill, or if its just as I am an adult now!

Safeway or Asda for the big shop. Although we had a fab local market and so my mum tended to go there for all fresh veg, meats, fish etc. It was only when she went back to work when we started school that she did a big shop every week otherwise she'd drag us to the market to get "bits" (which was always loads and then we had to walk up a massive hill dragging a million pounds of potatoes because she didn't drive!).
