Default Dining alone

Is this something you’re often up for doing (aka going out for a meal/drink solo) or would you worry too much about being seen as a ‘loner’?

Oh no.
Sometimes I like to just go out alone for a meal.
I like my own company a lot of the time actually.

And there ain’t nothing wrong with that. It’s actually the norm in places other than the U.K. (Canada springs to mind).

I would eat lunch out alone and often do at work but do work whilst eating. Have never gone out for an evening meal alone....I don't see the point, would rather eat at home. A meal out is as much about socialising than anything else. Same with a drink, I am happy in a pub if I arrive first on a night out, will go in and order a drink (my best friend wouldn't dream of that and would rather stand in the rain and wait for someone else than walk in alone) but wouldn't go out for a whole evening on my own

This. Regularly eat alone on lunch break from work but an evening meal is more of a social activity really.

Yeah I love it. Almost at my happiest in fact having a couple of pints and a pub lunch on my own

I'd agree with Annie though that I wouldn't really do it for an evening meal

Default Dining alone

No… I don’t really see the point I guess? Could make myself a better dinner at home . These days if I’m out for dinner it’s with the whole fam. Well, these days it doesn’t really happen at all of course, because of the cornvids virus.

I do go to the cinema alone though (and mostly prefer it) although some people find that weird too . Again not for ages though because of corner virus

I have eaten on my own in a restaurant if the occasion warranted it...I wouldn’t go to the pub just for a drink on my own at any time

I mean I've eaten out alone if say I'm out doing something on my own and I get hungry, I probably wouldn't choose to go out to eat just for the sake of it though, there's nothing wrong with doing that but usually when I go out for diner for enjoyment it's to also catch up with people/spend time with people

I'd definitely go to the cinema on my own if there was a film i wanted to see, it's not like it's a massively social activity anyway

I do it when I'm on business trips and I don't eat with the local team. I don't have a problem with it, it helps me getting relaxed, put my thoughts in the good order and send texts, check social media etc because I don't have time when I travel and spend all day long with people.

I don't have a problem going anywhere alone (waching a movie etc) because even though I'm married, I like to have some "alone" time. It's good for your well-being too.

But way before that, I used to do it as a teen or when I travelled alone. It's a nice way to setback a little and observe what is going around you.

Can’t see the big deal, maybe because I’m a guy.
As a London Black Cab driver, I’d often park at a restaurant after a day on London’s streets, plough through half a dozen escargots then carre d’agneau, and one glass of good Burgundy as I was driving.
While I was still the right side of 40, I’d occasionally gently hit on the waitress and see where that took me.
I was more than capable of preparing and steaming vegetables, and grilling a steak to (my) perfection, but after a day dealing with Joe Public, I couldn’t be bothered, so I’d make a beeline for a good restaurant.

Once my boyfriend missed an early flight. I have planned for us to go to a restaurant for brunch when we landed. So I was like **** it im going anyway and i'll send him pics to show him what he is missing.
Only time I can recall eating alone.
