Have had to be out all day and evening so I've ended up starting the injured Newton as my fantasy QB :fist: going to cost me a week 1 win

LOL, Romo has thrown 3 interceptions.
There are two constants in life, LOLRomoThrowsInterceptions and LOLCenaWins

Pretty bad week 1 for the teams I like, 49ers the only one coming out with a win so far. Really looking forwards to the Colts game later.

Disaster of a weekend, the few teams I've been drawn too have all been walked over this weekend. Think Its best I stay a neautral.
BBfanUSA
08-09-2014, 02:37 AM
He was trying to leapfrog the punter, didn't work out. (regarding Pitt vs Cleveland)
Think I am safe to call it a night now, Indy did threaten to get back into it a bit second half but our D held up well, nice to start off with a W in what could have been a tricky matchup
Having said that the Colts have just scored a quick TD :worry:
Drew.
08-09-2014, 01:27 PM
Colts are far too frustrating to watch.. Only waking up whenever their too far behind to make the come back, although watching the come back and hoping for it to happen is pretty good viewing.

Pretty crazy week in the NFL though, Bills won away, there was a couple of OT games.
Monday Night has two games to finish out the week.
First Game is Detroit Lions and New York Giants
second game is San Diego Chargers and Arizona Cardinals (This game is set to start after
Broncos kicker Matt Prater got a 4 game suspension for having a couple of beers while on holiday (he'd been on an alcohol program for a few years since a DUI arrest), Ray Rice only got a 2 game ban for this:

08-09-2014, 04:37 PM
Bloody alcoholic. Ban him for life :idc:
They did actually want to suspend him for a year originally lol but his lawyers managed to get the NFL to agree to a four game ban
BBfanUSA
08-09-2014, 07:46 PM
Ravens have cut Rice just now.
NFL has suspended him indefinitely
Drew.

MNF Lions and Giants is on right now.
There is also a press conference being held by the Ravens about Ray Rice right now.
BBfanUSA
10-09-2014, 09:28 PM
Oh boy...
Word is that the NFL received the Ray Rice tape where it shows him beating his then fiancee from the camera inside the elevator in April from Police.
BBfanUSA
12-09-2014, 11:01 PM
And it gets worse for the NFL,
Adrian Peterson has been indicted by a grand jury on essentially child abuse charges.
BBfanUSA
14-09-2014, 05:03 PM
Well, Week 2 Sunday is here.
Fox and CBS had the audacity to try and defend Goodell, ESPN's Preshow talked about AP, whom the vikings have deactivated. They were embarrassed about AP and thought what he did was stupid.
Watching Vikings and Patriots right now, forgot that they're getting a new stadium and are playing in a college football stadium.

RGIII is hurt again, this time it's his ankle. Looks like he's at least sprained it.
It's either prison or getting hurt for my favorite guys. ****

Some great games yesterday
Huge win for the Bears, Packers getting out of jail & the Bengals look awesome.

Looks like I'll win my fantasy league matchup
Been in New York the last few days and went to the Giants game on Sunday, amazing experience watching a game there and such a good atmosphere. Pretty disappointing game for the Giants but it was competitive at least for most of it. The tailgate was quality as well, got there a couple of hours beforehand luckily so had a decent amount of time to have a few drinks and take it all in
BBfanUSA
15-09-2014, 11:27 PM
Wow, Lucky.
I hate the Giants but I really want to visit the Meadowlands/Met Life Stadium because it looks like an amazing stadium.
Drew.
15-09-2014, 11:37 PM
Lucky sod, Was it you who made a thread on the nfl uk forums about going to the game? Think it was someone going to NY anyway.
Aha yeah that was me in the Giants sub forum, they were right over there about needing to fill out a form if you want to drink, the most complicated beer I've ever ordered lol. MetLife is an amazing stadium though, we were pretty high but never felt that far from the action really and its a great sight. Was surprised how easy it was to get to as well and how relaxed all the tailgating is, barely policed or regulated at all.
BBfanUSA
16-09-2014, 10:35 PM
Huh, for New York that's quite a shock.
There's a bunch of cops at the university football games I work at. They're all over the place.
Drew.
17-09-2014, 12:40 PM
Thought a few threads on there looked a bit similar to the ones on here, Turns out you made the What Game Are You Playing thread. Sounds like you had a decent time though. I watched a mini series called Tailgate32 on youtube of these two blokes tailgating at every NFL stadium, The atmosphere always looks great and chilled, you'd never be able to get that here in the UK for football due to the amount of crime that would happen.

Tampa Bay is jobbing to Atlanta 49-0 right now.

20-09-2014, 02:23 AM
Roger Goodell had a press conference over all the abuse cases and the new drug policy (Josh Gordon is now only banned 10 games instead of the whole season.)
Basically when he talked about the mismanagement of punishing players who are charged with abuse charges or are being investigated this video from South Park basically described what went down.

Broncos getting that D.
Safety!!!!!!!!!!
Our D is actually doing a good job, just our offense can't get anything going
Drew.
21-09-2014, 11:24 PM
Peyton has lost it
Not that disheartened if we do lose really. Seattle on the road will probably be our toughest fixture this year but we've been really competitive and our D has been great, especially second half. On another day we might win it but the offense has never really got going and Hawks do have an amazing defense
Drew.
21-09-2014, 11:38 PM
Unbelievable
Peyton you ****ing beauty!!!!!!!!!

lol yea for real. that game was way better than the SB. though i liked the ass beating. only caught the last 30 minutes or so (got constant highlight updates though) cause my tv had the KC/MIA game and my team finally won a damn game. looking forward to probably getting an early draft pick.:joker:

a bunch of little things in football are really annoying me lately. Cutler fumbles Jets player scoops in up runs to the end zone but the whistle was blown dead before and Cutler ruled by down. review Jets have the ball. dont score though. if the refs never called it dead Jets would be up 20-17 at least. wish the rule was since the guy ran it in and since it was a fumble they get the TD. so annoying the little things.

Washington jobbed to the Giants last night.
Has anyone seen the premiere ep of South Park which poked fun at the NFL? They did the Redskins, Dallas' Owner Jerry Jones (Who looked so weird), and Goodell. (They made him into a malfunctioning robot.)
I haven't seen the ep myself yet but I'd imagine it's some good stuff.
BBfanUSA
28-09-2014, 06:37 PM
Another excellent match between Green Bay and Chicago. Green Bay lucked out at the end of the first half, stopped a TD at the end of the 1st half by inches and got a 15 yard penalty added to the kickoff of the second.
Raiders embarrassing themselves at Wembley, not a great advert for the NFL
Drew.
28-09-2014, 08:02 PM
Amazing day for the Packers, Ravens and Colts, not so good for the Bears. I still can't decide which one to support.

well that MNF game was aces for me. my team gave them bastards a nice beat down and KC baseball has been great with 2 straight playoff wins with both going extras.
BBfanUSA
03-10-2014, 11:18 AM
Green Bay Dominated last night too.
I love how hyped up TNF has been only to have every game be a blowout.
Slevin
03-10-2014, 11:33 AM
indeed it has been too one sided. i was going back and forth with TNF and the Royals/Angels playoff game. 1 20 point win, 2 30+ and a 40+ beatdown. i see quite a few more possibly. that second one between Atlanta/Tampa Bay was insane with how quickly that was blown up. it was like watching a college powerhouse against some ****ty ass school.
They should just scrap having TNF weekly, the games always suck. Was the same most of last season too.
BBfanUSA
03-10-2014, 09:46 PM
They've been trying with most of the pairings this year but it's kinda blown up in NFL's Face.

Aaron Rodgers scored 23 for me, I'm winning this week and could go back to .500
I'm looking pretty good to win my 3rd in a row and go to 4-2, just gonna need Eli to get more than 15 points tonight
Annoyingly had Newton on my bench who scored 38 points

This week in the NFL
Bills beat Vikings on a last second touchdown thanks to Kyle Orton (Iowa Represent!)
Lions win on a last second Pick Six against the Saints
After the Bears lost to Miami, a brawl broke out in the locker room.
Great win for the Rams against Seattle as well, see the fake punt they did on 4th and 3 when they only had a 2 point lead and were on their own 15 in the last couple of minutes? That took serious balls. Would have looked pretty stupid if it had failed though
BBfanUSA
19-10-2014, 11:16 PM
I didn't see that, but I was watching a bit of the Packers/Panthers game and they showed the punt return for a touchdown where they had Seattle fooled on where they had the ball handler during a break
Drew.

1. Detroit/Atlanta game is being played in London tomorrow about 6 hours earlier than a game would usually start at in the early sunday slot.

The Atlanta Falcons could've denied the penalty but since a Delay of Game penalty is a dead ball penalty. There would still be 4 seconds left.

Guess Pey Pey must have got frostbite
Can only imagine the damage Tommy rockets would do with the Denver offensive line
We were pretty **** tbf but the Pats did look strong. Don't think the loss is really on Peyton, we weren't terrible just a bit too sloppy overall and our inability to convert any 3rd or 4th downs while the Pats were making almost every one is where the game was really won or lost
Shows how important its gonna be for us to get homefield advantage for the playoffs, expect we will meet them again in the AFC Championship game as long as neither of us **** it up something bad

Interesting,
It's amazing that they're 7-4 but still last in the AFC North. It's been an odd season.
They're tied with the other guys in the their division (Bengals and Steelers) but are last due to Tiebreakers. Bengals are 7-3-1 too. Only are leading because Tie equals half a win.
And then there's the NFC South, all teams are well under .500. Saints are looking like they could be the division leader after this week.

Sad News MTVN,
Manning's streak for a game with a TD Pass has ended this week.
Yeah it's kinda a shame he didn't get the record being so close to it, in a way its good that our running game has been strong enough recently though that we don't need to rely on him so much, CJ is turning out to be a bit of a beast
Need about 30 points tonight from Rivers and Edelman to make my fantasy playoffs, hope we're in for a shootout here

Jets are thinking of parting ways with Rex Ryan. Ryan's so sure of it, word is that he's packing up his office already.
49ers Coach Jim Harbaugh might be returning to Coach College FB, He and his wife are rumored to fly out to Ann Arbor, Michigan tomorrow to negotiate a deal with University of Michigan.

It's not the worst performance QB rating wise. Cutler scored a 2.8 against the Packers back in 2010. (The year they won it all I think)
Lindley had a 6.2
Still crappy though.
Also Suh is playing today, he somehow got away with attempting to hurt Aaron Rodgers.
Of course the Lions win. I called it a long time ago. This is the Lions year, what a great time to be a fan.

We've fired our head coach John Fox. Looks like the Ravens OC Gary Kubiak is the favourite, he said the other day that he wasn't gonna leave Baltimore but he's good mates with Elway, has strong links to the Broncos and loves the area so it could easily tempt him

Atlanta's new stadium looks amazing. Look it up if you haven't yet. It's indoor but it has a great retractable roof.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has said that owners don't have to get NFL's permission to relocate. (I haven't read the exact article yet, but I assume that it will get you kicked out if you do, since NFL told teams that no one is going to move to LA in 2015)
Bears are trying to get John Fox, could be the coach that they need. (I hope they don't, because Iowa State needs an actual coach that can recruit.)
St. Louis is looking at building an outdoor stadium in St. Louis. They have been speculated to move to LA in the past.
Ohio State won the College Football National Championship game this year over Oregon. This was the first playoff ever in NCAA FCS history and the first time in years that the final didn't include a team from the SEC Conference

Oh and the Broncos hired former Texans HC Gary Kubiak.
EDIT: apparently Patriots reportedly provided deflated FBs during the AFC Championship Game. This doesn't put their spot in the SB in jeopardy but they could lose draft picks. (Alot of people are saying this doesn't really affect the game if it's just a couple PSIs. I guess that's why they could be losing draft picks)

Haven't been able to sign into the NFL UK forums for about 2 months now, turns out they updated the forum and loads of people were unable to sign back on  Anyway, i've finally got round to making a new account.. missed out on most of the season though.
Yeah the site update on there was a joke, still haven't sorted all the problems with it and they did it before the season started I think
Drew.
19-01-2015, 11:50 PM
Looks as though the gameday threads have about half as many posts compared to this time last year.. Terrible decision to update it. Was planning on getting more involved with the NFL this season and they bloody mess my account up.
Yeah I post quite intermittently on there but it has felt a lot quieter in general, its the sort of forum I'll go through phases of posting loads on and then not visiting for ages especially during the off season. The off topic sections are decent on there though, the Premiership thread is pretty good. Have you settled on a favourite team yet?
Drew.
20-01-2015, 12:06 AM
Yeah some of the sections/threads outside of the NFL discussions seem to be busy enough like the Football threads so i'll try and stick around and post a bit. Nah i haven't  It's a nightmare, when you've got so many teams to pick between it becomes nearly impossible. I've had it narrowed down to 4/5 teams all season though but still havent settled with one. I made a thread earlier on the forum asking for some advice on the teams.
Ah yes King Riggins :douf: Yeah I'm glad I had the Broncos straight away, I've had it whenever I've tried to get into college football that none of the teams have felt right even when I've tried to stick with one for a while, the sort of thing you always just hope will eventually click. Good thing with the ones you've chosen there is that they're all solid franchises who should be competing over the next few years though. Maybe not the Texans lol but I've always had a bit of a soft spot for them being the newest team in the league while also being a historic football city when they used to have the Oilers
Drew.
20-01-2015, 01:18 AM
Ah so you've already seen my thread then :pipe2: How did you end up picking the Broncos? And yeah, thats exactly it. I was expecting it to take a few matches to finally click & to settle down with one but we've gone through a whole season and i'm still undecided. I think it'll come down to the Packers, Ravens, Colts & maybe Dallas. I've pretty much managed to ruled out the 49ers, Texans & Bears after today. Dallas have grown on me quite a bit recently though.
Colorado was just the one state I'd visited so I basically adopted all their teams from when I went there, didn't actually get into the NFL till a couple years later but had that connection there to fall back on. Dallas will always be an interesting team to support partly because they'll always be quite disliked by everyone else lol
Drew.
20-01-2015, 01:37 AM
Ah, i think that's probably the best & easiest way to pick a team from a different country is if you've ever visited it before. Luckily you've ended up with a pretty good team. Think i'm going to have to find a website where you type in some words and it picks one out at random to finally pick one for me, there is no other option, i will still be in this position next year otherwise.
Drew.
20-01-2015, 07:09 PM
Tickets available for Bills v Jags & Lions v Chiefs at Wenbley, will most likely get some, not sure which one though? I'm leaning more towards the Lions v Chiefs game although i think the Jags game may have the better atmosphere
I'd definitely go Lions-Chiefs if you can. The only thing the Jags has going for it really is that they've put in a lot of effort to establish a UK base so the Jags support should be pretty good but its a pretty uninspiring match up and there's always the chance of the Jags getting blown out. Lions and Chiefs should be a higher quality game with more star players down and they both have better fan bases if a lot of them make the trip
Drew.
20-01-2015, 07:36 PM
Christ this could take a while to keep refreshing it until it gives me good seats, its frustrating that you can't pick your own and it only gives you the best available at the time you're searching. Will go for the Lions - Chiefs if i can get some good seats then.
