I think I glitched my game today, I was flying a plane as franklin and I was about to crash so I swapped to michael, then a few minutes later back to franklin and he was just falling in mid air then through a building and everyone was screaming :suspect: (he didn't die either)

I think the controls are a little overwhelming at the start, it controls very differently to any GTA before it.

shooting a petrol station - massive blow Up


On here slight delay and not the same blown up style.


I love going up a Hill on here with a Range Rover with cops chasing,
the cops do not seem to have a range rover - like on GTA4
so they fall off and expload. (street cars can not climb hills)
I get out and shoot cops from the Hill top.

If a chopper arrives I get moving fast.

It's grown on me a bit more but the controls are still hateful. I get that they were trying to make the movement and such realistic but they need to remember that they are making a game and cumbersome controls for the sake of realism is just a flawed idea.

It doesn't matter how good your game is if someone doesn't have the patience to deal with the controls.

From what I've seen so far I just prefer IV because the characters and story were a lot better. I don't really give a **** about golf or all the other added stuff to do outside of mission so they don't really have an affect on me.

Enjoying this game more so far. GTA IV was a great game, but money came so easy and meant nothing really. In this game when I make some money the feeling is 5*. Also I don't have to deal with Brucie wanting to go strip club every day :joker:

Throughout V, I felt we never really go to know the town, we just saw a few Ballas, CGF and Vagos guys. I'm wondering if the world will be more fleshed out in Online though?

Been focusing on doing the main missions and I think I'm nearly done with them, but I've started doing the ? missions to fill in some of the time I spend on it and so I don't finish the game too quickly.

Where/when can I meet Packie? I want to use him for the final heist.

Don't get me wrong though, V has a lot of charm, and its a new direction in the series, instead of the usual, this feels like the biggest change to the series since GTA III. I'm hoping there is some storyline DLC to flesh out other areas of the story, since that worked well for IV.

Done a few side missions now, starting to feel more positive about the game, it seems like the main missions are the characters story, and the side missions expand on the cities story.

I'm halfway through the main story and a bit underwhelmed tbh... I'm not rooting for any of them, it's like they divided one big story arc that'd be satisfying for one protagonist between 3 people.

There's not...really that much to do after all :/

It's a random encounter so it'll flash up as you drive by. I think you might have to be Franklin, all you do is pick him up in a car :)

It's weird...the same button to change the radio can be used to bring the phone up... it can get very annoying at times.

If you see someone's Bicycle being robbed then make sure to get it back for him. He gives you stocks worth 100k. Apart from that just wait for the first Lester mission for Franklin and keep and ear out for news reports/missions etc.

I'm glad I chose option C, because I looked at the alternative endings after I'd completed it and was so relieved I had chosen C in the first place, it wouldn't have felt right choosing the other two

I wasn't gonna complete it so soon but I figured online comes out in a few days and I'll be on that constantly so I won't have time for Story Mode as much.

You could've just looked them up on YouTube :joker: I didn't think they'd actually kill off any of the main characters, but I assumed if I chose C then all 3 protagonists would team up and none would die. I was correct!

been working pretty well for me, made a bit from robbing some stores and then had my car taken away from me and it kept glitching whilst i was trying to steal it back and the gates wouldnt open so i died quite a few times and lost most my money and for some reason the next time i went on they had done a rollback and i began with all my money and car again.. the races are a great way to make money and really fun.

I wasn't expecting it to be that easy, really.

Obviously I chose option C (the deathwish) over killing either Trevor or Michael, but lord knows I was tempted to off Trevor...

So I had to kill Stretch, Cheng, Steve and Devin... and they were all ridiculously easy tasks :/ Devin, the main antagonist, had... 7 bodyguards at his house? That was it!? Trickiest for me was Stretch, since he was surrounded by about 20 guys, and they chased after me... Cheng I just took an RPG to, and Steve was a snipe-job...

I was convinced they'd pull another PROTAGONIST'S FRIEND TURNS OUT TO BETRAY HIM thing with Lamar, so I'm glad that didn't happen.

Intrigued to see what would've happened if I chose A or B now, might give them a go on a replay.

Also, the heist was really easy too :/

All in all I'm a bit disappointed with the story tbh, was over really quickly and didn't really challenge me at all (except trying to get the cars onto the getaway truck :joker:)... am looking forward to some DLC expanding on their characters.

The reason the targets were easy to kill off was because you'd basically exhausted all their forces at the foundry, so all of the targets assumed that you were dead.

Though apparently Franklin was supposed to die off in the fire fight originally, and was going to be replaced by Lamar

In retrospect, I'm ready to admit I was sort of let down by this game, I didn't even have overly high expectations for it either.

- The story never really went anywhere, Los Santos itself didnt really factor into the story much, we never saw much of the Vagos, Ballas, Aztecas and the Lost. There was a very limited cast and the story didn't really go in any directon.

- Some aspects in the game felt like something of a downgrade. What happened to entering Burger Shot to heal up? What happened to purchasing hot dogs from vendors? Bowling? Even drinking in the game felt less fun. There was also less choices (like saving Ivan in IV)

- Remember how the gameplay trailer showed buying properties? What happened there? (This was pre-GTA Online)

It kinda feels like GTA V got shafted because Rockstar wanted to put their eggs in the GTA Online basket, and thats quite annoying, considering how long we waited for GTA V. Also, while GTA Online has fun aspects, it gets a bit boring after a while, I kinda miss messing around in Liberty City without worrying that some dick is gonna kill me and make me lose money.

Also, I find it very annoying they put a Casino in a game about heists, and they don't use it.

Initial impressions :



- The prologue was a great little self contained way to start the game and made for much more substantial fodder than the usual drive somewhere and get clean clothes type stuff.

- The looser driving is far better than the GTA IV system even though I didn't mind that as much as most [it seemingly took people weeks to adjust to it back in 2008].

- Some of the anti aliasing is terrible. I don't think it's helped by the constant sun glare effect. A lot of things in the distance seem to shimmer and vibrate, not entirely unlike coming up on Mexican mushrooms or something. This makes those cross eyed, pulse pounding driving-fast-through-traffic moments even more cross eyed as you struggle to see in to the distance.

- I still think the characters in this game engine look weird and rubbery, too. And their eyed look painted on. The rest of the graphics are perfectly fine though - especially given the size of the world. Some of the textures close up really are a massive improvement over GTA IV's. The floors and asphalts especially are incredibly detailed. As are every advertisement, sign and debris detail.

- The weapon wheel is a great addition. The radio wheel is not. I find myself using it to much and it seems to break up the driving a lot.

- Speaking of the radio the length of the stations seems to be at an all time low. I've put 7 hours in and already seem to know the lions share of the four or five stations I rotate. A lot of the stuff seems like the B team tracklists you would expect to find in a Stories style spin off. Soulwax is great. Playback has finally rendered me sick of Still Dre and Next Episode - a feat I thought previously impossible. The talk station is pants. The punk station is cool because it simulates playing Tony Hawk a bit.

- The cutscenes are more Hollywood than ever before and are almost never dull. They still have that problem though where they almost never explain the mission. Sometimes they have nothing whatsoever to do with the mission. It's blah blah blah and then suddenly you're in your car and only get a sense of what you're doing and why through the text prompts. Dafuk?

- The mission variety is excellent. Maybe I'll tire of it in another ten hours but it seems like they've finally sorted that problem.

- I wish the real glitzy parts of L.A. were bigger. It just feels like a couple of streets surrounded by massive crappy industrial zones. I love country zones but the city itself should have sprawled more.



So yeah that's my GTA V experience so far. Despite the added carnage and variety it seems also to be continuing down GTA IV's path of moving away from the city being just a hub for cartoon violence and into the realms of just being a sort of general life simulator that just so happens to have a lot of abject violence. Whilst I still prefer the cartoony model of the previous generation it's still wicked good fun. I mean it's not Elder Scrolls or Metal Gear or anything ... but it's still a top class open world action game.

Finally got around to finishing the main storyline :

-Chose option C, obviously. Although I have a save state to get to the others later.

-The last few missions were really, really easy. This has been by a considerable distance the easiest GTA game ever. The last heist was not as multi layered as I would have hoped for and whilst I loved tracking down and killing all your nemesisisis one by one it felt like a reaaaaaally ****ing relaxing way to finish out. Boom. FBI guy dead. Boom. Stetch dead. Boom. Devin's off the cliff in the boot.

-The ending was really cool though. It wasn't as 'final' as the rest of the games endings because they obviously want you to keep playing through the world so it was more like a series finale than a total finale but yeah I really liked it.

-The main story was the weakest point of the game and one of the weaker stories in the series history. There was no real sense of a great journey from it like you got with San Andreas or even GTA IV. You just kinda reunited with your old buddy, made a new one, and done a handful of heists for some generic, boring as sin government officials. Then you have to get out because you've upset a rogue army called Merryweather who really weren't as expounded on as they could have been.

-As much as I love Trevor - the fact that he was actually really intellectual and well spoken is what saved him from cartoon psychopath cliche - he kept overshadowing the other two. Every cutscene became Trevor complaining about something. Every car ride with him was a nightmare of nattering. It got too much. Had option C not existed he would have gotten the bullet.

-Michael's probably the best. The family dynamic was one of the most interesting parts of the game. It felt nice for a change driving around GTA as a kind of naff dad.

-Franklin exists to do side missions with, I guess. He has the green bike every time you spawn as him and he seems happy to be involved in the story I guess.

-The constant use of mobile phone as Rockstars sort of Windows Service Center at the end of the story got realllly old. This problem's gone away and I'm fine with it now since I'm off free to explore and do whatever but man it grated after awhile. There is a fine line between making sure the player knows their are loads of great diversions to do and you still have that car to pick up and the game sending you texts to go "HEY, REMEMBER WE PUT THIS IN THE GAME TOO! DO IT SOMETIME!".

-It's an absolutely fantastic game. I raced to finish the story but now that it's done I actually want to keep playing it some more which is great because my attention span is horrific [the exception is Skyrim which I'm still playing. Other games sometimes seem to exist only to remind me that I could be playing Skyrim again, or I should go back to my old save. As sophisticated as GTA gets it's still a sandbox for destruction trying to be a slick movie. Skyrim's more slow paced fantasy setting gives it a far, far greater depth of world and culture that GTA could only ****ing dream of].

-I loved doing tear gas drive bys and watching society collapse on the floor when the Alan Parsons Project were playing.

Some news on DLC

Rockstar Games has revealed that Grand Theft Auto V's first story-centric add-on will arrive in 2014, and stars the original cast of Michael, Trevor, and Franklin.

On Rockstar's Newsire, the developer said, "we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas."

Additionally, Rockstar detailed the future of its online multiplayer. A bigger update hits this week, with deathmatch and the race creator beta rolling out. Later in the month, we'll see four Capture mode variants -- Raid, Contend, Hold, and GTA -- which Rockstar will detail soon. Finally, on the subject of online heist missions, the developer wrote, "Heists are currently in development and we are working very hard to get them as polished and as fun as they can be. Stay tuned for much more detail in the New Year."

Lindsay Lohan is suing the makers of Grand Theft Auto.

The actress says the latest instalment of the game, Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5), used her image to create a character based on her without her permission.

Lohan's lawsuit was filed on Wednesday in a court in New York.

Newsbeat has contacted GTA 5 game makers Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. and Rockstar Games but they are yet to respond to the claims.

The game was released in September and became the fastest-selling entertainment product ever, taking three days to generate $1bn (£598m) in revenue.

Lohan's case claims a character named Lacey Jonas is an "unequivocal" reference to the Mean Girls and Freaky Friday star.

The 28-year-old claims image, voice and styles from her clothing line are depicted in the game.

The suit also claims that the game features West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont hotel, where Lohan used to live.

In addition, the character asks for help to avoid paparazzi photographers during the story mode of the game.

GTA V, which is set in "a satirical reimagining of modern Southern California", is the first game in the series that allows players to jump in and out of the lives of three simultaneously playable lead characters.

I can't wait till they bring out some DLC content for the story mode, they are probably waiting for GTA V to come out on PS4.

Some rumours that we might possibly see a return of CJ, the Actors who play CJ and Franklin are cousins IRL and have good relations with Rockstar Games, it would be interesting to see the two characters together.

One thing I wish they would do is open more interiors of the buildings. I think Bahama Mamas for example would be good to go in!

The difference is crazy. Even re watching the first person trailer there are light reflections on everything.. cars don't just popped out from nowhere heading towards you in the distance now.

Not interested in the game, but worth adding that both the PS4 and One versions will supposedly be 1080p/30FPS.

Lot's banging the drum of the whole 'MS paying for parity' BS. People ignore that, whilst both are supposedly going to run at 1080p/30FPS, it's likely the PS4 version will be the better version in other fields.

Some unable to get over it not being 60FPS also. :facepalm:
