i think Mourinho could be taking over, hes confident hes leaving Madrid this summer so much that hes starting to let out how he really feels about the players at Madrid and theres no chance he wouldnt be causing this much chaos unless he was sure he was leaving and had a club lined up next season. The Chelsea rumours were never concrete and no deals have been agreed with Mourinho and Chelsea.. and Fergie would have lined up his successor first before stepping down, i think it could be Mourinho.

Well Rooney isn't on the £250,000 the media say he is. So they'd probably pay him around what's on now.
The issue I still see is Coleen. If he had no wife and no kids then it's an easy move really. If Coleen doesn't want to move then he's left with Chelsea and the backlash from United fans.
You never know though, Coleen may relocate. I don't mean this to sound bad but now her ill sister has passed she may be more willing to relocate as she never wanted to move away from her.
Another issue with a move to Bayern is of course playing time. The falling out of favour with Fergie is what has led to him wanting out. With the amount of options at Pep's disposal next season (some will leave but there will still be many options) he might go there and request yet another transfer lol.
Brother Leon

There will be 1 more slip up in the next two games out of Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs.. It'll come down to the final day, will be hard to watch.
Rangers salute Sir Alex and manager Ally McCoist said: "His like may never be seen again. Sir Alex has been a colossus and his achievements might never be surpassed.
"He has been at the very pinnacle of the game for so many years and seemed to get better with age. His defeats always seemed to make him stronger and he always bounced back to reach another height.
"But while his total dedication and intense will to win were always obvious Sir Alex also had a sharp sense of humour. When I heard about his decision I sent him a text saying: ‘Gaffer, I hope this isn’t an over-reaction to Monday’s result when Rangers Legends beat Manchester United Legends 4-1’."
Ally scored twice in that match watched by Sir Alex, who, quick as a flash, sent as text in reply saying: "Ha ha… PS, you were offside."
"Sir Alex, who built team after team, and not only on the pitch, will be sorely missed by the game. Time and again he proved himself a football genius with no equal," Ally added. "We all wish him well, the players, the staff and the fans."

An in form Wayne Rooney could easily play in a Guardiola team. His best form was in 2009/10. Euro 2004 was fantastic, looked a quality young player, however at some stage in 2009/10 he was quite possibly the best player on the planet.

More than one source reported Rooney wants to leave last night. It looks extremely likely.
Also, interestingly, he's now changed his Twitter bio from 'Manchester United player' to 'NikeUK Athlete.'
An in form Wayne Rooney could easily play in a Guardiola team. His best form was in 2009/10. Euro 2004 was fantastic, looked a quality young player, however at some stage in 2009/10 he was quite possibly the best player on the planet.
Edit: And he isn't on £250k.
Best player on the planet in 09/10? Seriously?
He is on between £220-250k/wk. Where is your evidence that he isn't? He wanted a massive pay rise to compete with what city players were earning at that time. Everyone reported it as £220-250k. Only on this forum (and probably united forums) will you find people playing make believe with sponsors making up his payments.

He's the 4th top scorer of all time for the most succesful English club. If he stays until his 30s not only does he break the record, but he smashes it. Even If he retires today his name goes down next to Best,Charlton,Law. If that isn't meeting potential them he must of been a possible GOAT.

Clearly you forget 2009/10. The guy scored 34 goals by mid March. He carried United all season. Phil Thompson, extremely biased Scouser, said at one stage of that season he believed him to be, at that time, the best on the planet.
Rooney was absolutely amazing that campaign. His best season in his whole career. Had he not been injured in Munich in the Champions League quarter final we'd of won the league and stood a good chance of conquering Europe. He was that good.
He is now the highest-paid player at Manchester United, overtaking defender Rio Ferdinand. The striker, who was previously on £90,000 per week, is now understood to be earning a basic salary in excess of £150,000 per week.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1322859/Wayne-Rooney-staying-Manchester-United-signing-new-contract.html
It was the media who reported the £150,000 a week. However, it's not as bigger headline as saying he's on £250k. That 'in excess' line is based on clauses.
Also here:
Reports say he will be on a basic of £150-160,000 a week but will more than double that figure through image rights.
Despite the happy ending, United fans will not see Rooney in action for another three weeks because of an ankle injury he picked up in training.

I wouldn't put Rooney in the Best, Charlton & Law category at all. Looking from the outside, he's a worse player now than when he broke through, but I don't see his all round play week in week out, so maybe he is a much better player and I don't see it. When he broke on to the scene, he looked as though he could be what Messi and Ronaldo have turned into. He was taking teams on, powering through them and finishing.
I'll accept your judgment on his abilities, but I'd be interested to know what older united fans who actually saw best and Charlton play, say about where he fits in your GOAT list.

I'm genuinely not having a go, but if you want to bring media reports into it then read the media reports from the last few days stating what his contract is.

Nike.
And here is another quote:
Rooney’s deal is thought to be worth in the region of £160,000 per week in basic salary but could top £200,000 once incentives are worked in.

It's only debatable as to how he will get to £250k a week. He isn't on £250k from United. That's a fact, as Rafa would say.

Why would the media report he's getting £150k a week, rising to £250k a week, and then throughout the years since he signed that contract report he's on £250k a week?
Easy answer, sensationalism.
It's just like with the 'Rooney claimed United lacked ambition', he never said that. In the media it's all about sensationalism.
I remember a few years back The Sun had an Evra story. I think he claimed Arsenal were no longer a big team or something. Anywho, the headline was basically he'd criticised a team. I then read the article, said team weren't even mentioned.
If Rooney was on £250k a week, why did we refuse to offer Eden Hazard £170k then? There would be no reason as to why we didn't match Chelsea's wage offer.

I don't think that's correct. Image rights are paid by the club, because it will have to be taken from use of his image. He will have a separate deal with Nike, who are his sponsors.
Any deals incorporating image rights, are taken from the club.
If I find 10 links from websites saying he's on 250k/week will that mean that I'm right? Because I could go and do that.
Your key piece is resting on image rights, and if that is any way related to Nike, then he has 2 deals with Nike? Doesn't make sense.

Do you really think we'd pay him £250k a week? The media themselves even said it was £150k, with it rising to £250k. This is the media. They like to sensationalise things. We'd be opening up a can of worms paying him £250k. Any future player, let's say Van Persie, would say, 'I want the same, or thereabouts'.
Also, I said, it's debatable as to how he could earn the £250k. I remember reading back in 2010, not image rights, and instead based on clauses.

This season has been deemed a 'bad' one by some for him. If this is a bad season then god help anyone else.
In a season in which he's had injuries, fallen out of favour with Fergie and become United's 'second star man' he's still managed 16 goals and 13 assists from 31 starts and 6 bench appearances.
Last season he was absolutely fantastic. This campaign, he's fallen out of favour which, obviously, plays some part in how his season has gone.

I'm not sure how £150k/wk + image rights from the club, is different to £250k/wk from the club. It's just assigning it from a different pot.
Seems like you believe the media reports you like, but then accuse the ones you don't of "sensationalism". I don't think you can really have it both ways.
I am happy to agree to disagree though. I just don't think Rooney would have kicked up such a fuss then signed a new contract earning less than Steven Gerrard. You feel free to believe that if you like.

Have just seen this:
Image rights allow a club to pay a portion of a player’s wages in exchange for using their image to promote the club and their sponsors. Payments are made to a separate company, often based offshore, and taxed at a lower rate or not at all.
Seems it is the club then. Hold my hands up, I was wrong. However, if we really trawled the internet for 2010 articles about Rooney signing a new deal we'd see it's £150k a week.
The media said £150k themselves. Those same websites that said it was £150k and rising, by whatever means, also say £250k as that's the media for you. Do you honestly think we're paying a player £250k a week? Why would we refute Hazard's demands?

Tell yourself that if you wish. He could have earned more from going to PSG. He signed for the European champions at the time, in one of the most sought after cities in the world.
He wasn't going to be poor wherever he went, and although he publicly used all clubs to bump his eventual salary up, I doubt money was his sole motivation.
However, I could well be wrong on that score, and none of us really know. He seemed to be hinting at going to City for a long time from what I remember.

He wanted to come to England so PSG were off the cards. He said he'd be moving to one of the Manchester clubs. Never happened. Why? Well, City dropped out of the running due to his wage demands (yes, even City) and before this we were favourites to sign him.
He then said he was going to announce his future, then made another announcement to say he has to think about it with Chelsea having conquered Europe. A Chelsea team that, let's be fair, were far from the best team in Europe.
Chelsea offered more cash, and it seems a bit suspicious that they signed his brother shortly after. Wouldn't be surprised if this was one of his demands.

I think Arsenal should worry the most... their two teams are fighting to avoid relegation. The others have fairly easy/safe teams.
Spurs are definitely worrying the most, they did this last season and flopped a massive lead against of us and we finished above them. Stoke are mathematically still fighting for survival and on their day a hard team to beat at home so it wont be easy for Spurs.. Chelsea are playing against Everton in Moyes possible last game as their manager, they'll be going all out for the win. I think for us Wigan will be quite easy, few days after their FA cup final which if they lose they'll have a classic hangover and wont turn up for the game, our worry is Newcastle.

So what if Rooney does not have Man Utd player on his profile? Rio Ferdinand has never had it nor does Tom Cleverley and David De Gea etc.
Tom Cleverley and Rooney both done some work for Nike recently so I suspect it is for PR reasons because on Rooney's account sometimes his PR team do certain tweets, so you can tell when Rooney is tweeting himself e.g. replying to someone etc or his management is promoting something.
PS shame that Stan Petrov has retired from Football:(. I wish him all the best with what he does next and hope he gets well soon!

You have done nothing but put Moyes down, for one reason, he doesn't have champions league experience (but technically he does), maybe if he had the money that Mourinho had to spend he would have won the champions league, maybe if Mourinho had managed Everton with no money to spend, he might not have Champions league experience, at Real madrid, Chelsea and Inter Milan, how many players has Mourinho brought through the juniors and turned them in to International players, none come to my mind, he just goes out and spends top money on top players, where as Moyes i can name some, Rooney, Rodwell, Osman, Coleman he also plucked Jagielka and Lescot from the lower leagues and turned them both in to internationals, who got the best out of Lescot Moyes or Mancini (who has champions league experience, which apparently makes you a better manager)?, who got the best out of Arteta, Moyes or Wenger (who has Champions league experience)? who got the best out of Piennar, Moyes or Redknapp (who has Champions league experience)?
Moyes gets the best out of players, because he's a world class manager, and he will prove that to you very soon, and you'll just look like a dick.

Just a little perspective. Everton have the 8th highest wage bill in the league. He's not exactly on a shoestring.

I think autopilot will get them through for a season, but that's when the major rebuild will need to be done. The good thing from my POV, is that whiskey nose was given 7 years, so he will be calling for patience as you trickle down the league.
I'm going to be so ******ing gutted if he turns out to be great.
Think it depends on who he signs in central midfield, if anyone. If Jose brings Falcao with him then the title race is basically over.
Just a little perspective. Everton have the 8th highest wage bill in the league. He's not exactly on a shoestring.
And that's down to Moyes managment, and business he's done, the sales of Rooney, Lescot, Arteta, Piennar and many more, and then pretty good recruitment to replace them, and even if they are 8th they're still not able to compete with Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea or Arsenal, lets face it even a club with the size, stature and history as Liverpool cannot compete with these clubs.

Moyes' management of Rooney was pretty shady from what I remember, and crediting him with selling him is nonsense. He's made some astute signings over the years, I'd never deny it, but lets not pretend he shouldn't be roughly where he is with Everton.
Didn't James Beattie replace Rooney for 8million?

Don't even know why Liverpool fans are so happy. Not like Rodgers came to Liverpool as Barcelona manager. Let's hope we send you down to 8th as we take 7th ;)
Helps us out in 2 ways. Gives your lot a manager that is unproven at this level, and ****s Everton up a bit aswell. A great couple of days.

That's irrelevant. Previous good decision making doesn't rule out a bad decision ever being made.
Liverpool made the right managerial appointments for decades, but it only took one wrong decision to bring it all crashing down.

Second of all, where to start in your post deary me.
That isn't the only reason I don't want Moyes for the job at all. For one, I doubt if he can win a Premier League title. Especially with Jose on his way back to Chelsea. Second of all, I'm not entirely convinced by his style of play.
In regards to you wheeling off players...
Rooney was at his best in 2009/10. And Rooney's best form apart from that was at Euro 2004 really. I believe Rooney departed partly due to Moyes not playing him as much as he wanted. Rooney's best form wasn't under David Moyes. That is for sure.
Rodwell, you sold him when he couldn't even get in your team. He was a decent talent a couple of years back but he's not nothing to write home about and wasn't in his latter days at Everton.
Osman, sorry but, how this guy gets in the England team is beyond me. Sums up how **** we are. Guess he got the best out of him, not that there's much there anyway. Maybe give you that one.
Coleman, haven't seen him a whole lot so sharnt comment.
Jagielka, yes, very good player. Definitely should be in the England squad more.
Lescott, well he had a very good campaign last season. Unlucky for him that he was ousted from the starting XI.
Arteta has been a good signing for Arsenal. His best days were at Everton but he wasn't as good in his latter days at Everton.
Pienaar, give you that one.
Now, it seems you're getting a little butt hurt. It's my opinion. You have a crystal ball do you? You know for sure this guy is going to come in and do brilliantly? No.
The issue here is, you can't accept that my opinion is different. I don't think Moyes is good enough. If he turns out to be though, I will come on here and, gladly, say I was wrong.
Oh, and let's not use youth players that have gone on to play for their international teams and then name English players. Anyone can get in that England team judging by who Woy picks.

Not getting hurt at all, I'm enjoying it, I'm just sticking up for Moyes because as an Everton fan have seen what he's about over the past 10 + years, he's not won a single trophy but to me and most Everton fans he's a legend, because we know in reality we have very, very little chance of winning a trophy, but what he has done, he's give the club stability, he's made us a consistent top half club, which in Todays game of ridiculous money is great achievement.

'Moyes has still to taste the satisfaction of a league victory at one of the quartet of clubs – Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United'
you'd expect him to have won away to one of those teams in 11 years

I suspect Nike were a bit behind it too as to not get caught up in something and to protect their PR image, it only started because some moronic United fans thought he had Manchester United player on his Twitter bio, but removed it recently due to all of these latest stories.
Rooney has never had Man Utd player on his bio, some United players on Twitter don't either but Rooney added Nike UK athlete on there 2 weeks ago. Tom Cleverley has Nike UK athlete on his and Phil Neville, which were added at the same time as him by Nike, which is a coincidence and has caused some people to have a meltdown over nothing in this instance:joker:.
