Ratings will be very low tonight. Match has run to penalties, I expect a 8m+ peak. For BB, 1.1m incl +1 I think.

No BB rating yet, but the doc before it got a huge 2m against the footie! It's going to look bad for BB when it gets around 1.1m! However found this on Twitter... Ch5 thrashed Ch4 last night:
Sam Bagnall @nigelsleftboot
C4 behind C5 in the ratings last night between 8pm and midnight.
So BB beat Ch4 in the 10pm slot and BOTS beat Ch4 in the 11pm slot.
All Day shares:
C5 - 5.1% (inc +1)
C4 - 4.1% (inc +1)
Ch4 must have done very badly. Pretty sure that is the biggest C5 victory against C4 for a long time.

So do you have any ratings of the channel 4 shows at 10 so we know what the bb ratings is more than.

The ratings are coming out so slow. We have had the BBC1, BBC2 and ITV ratings for over an hour and a half now. Maybe BB and C4 ratings were so low, they don't want to release them!
Jemal

Lmao I fear for the ratings in the future especially in the BB 10pm time slot. But I think one positive is that its beating channel 4 in the ratings and imo if channel 5 axe bb, channel 4 have more of a reason to take on bb again, if you get me?

Yep I understand. I'm more baffled by Ch5 beating Ch4 by a whole percentage share point. Usually when they beat Ch4 (rarely) it is only by 0.1-0.3%. So either Ch4 flopped very badly and go under 800k across 5 hours last night, or Ch5 did great (we know the Ch5 doc did, but not sure if BB did).

I dont really watch channel 4, well not since bb got axed. It doesn't have a mainstream show imo like bb was, i may be wrong (suggestions wanted) i cant think of any good shows on c4 at those evening times. It certainly will be of interest to them seeing that c5 is doing way better than them in the ratings and also that their own former show being apart of that success must be painful for them.
But no doubt about it, no matter how many viewers it gets BB will always be mainstream imo. Its just that the difference is back in the day their were less shows to compete with them. But now there are so many shows in the same time slot, which will obviously make the show suffer.
*mazedsalv**

1.29m (7.1%) excluding +1 for BB.
Surprised by BB and how high it is against the footie. Highest excl +1 rating since Monday which is good. Should be around 1.38m with +1.
Channel 4's, First Dates got 1m incl +1.
It beat last Thursday which got 1.24 excl +1.

I don't know why you were all expecting big figures. Last weeks eviction was hard to call between Gina and Sallie so most people watched to see who would get evicted/how the housemates would react to Michael being revealed, whereas this week it was blatantly obvious that Jemima was a goner.

Yes.
No denying they aren't good enough to warrant spending money on it every year.
Just look at Thursday BB got 1.29 million and a Channel 5 documentary almost made 2 million.
BB isn't remaining as the backbone of Channel 5 as we were expecting it to be.

We really don't need to worry. BB helps Ch5 and that's that. It's like ITV getting rid of The X Factor (as ratings wise it was behind IAC and BGT this last year). BB, for has beaten Ch4 almost every night since it's been on. Ch5 will be stupid to drop it.
As someone who has studied ratings since I was like 12... if they drop BB, then it would be the same as ITV dropping TXF, CH4 dropping 24 Hrs in A&E and BBC2 getting rid of Top Gear
Wonder if the early start will bugger things up tonight?

Horrible ratings. They exclude +1 though... I knew the horrible 8:45pm start (which loads missed) would damage it. An dup against the bloody LF.
Big Brother - 844k (4.2%)
I just hope with +1 it would have just touched 1m. But doubt it. I am not surprised. What a pathetic time for BB. +1 should add a fair bit. Most people missed the first 15 mins.

I hope the officials are good tomorrow. What do we predict? Around 300-400k to be added on each? I'm most looking forward to see how far over 2m Sallie's eviction got. A lot of decent ratings we got last week..., 1.50, 1.42, 1.35m, 1.31m, 1.83m, 1.1m and 1.53m.
My predictions...
Monday- 1.83m
Tuesday- 1.76m
Wednesday- 1.70m
Thursday- 1.60m
Friday- 2.07m
Saturday- 1.44m
Sunday- 1.80m

Tuesday 18/06: 1.81m
Wednesday 19/06: 1.65m*
Thursday 20/06: 1.67m*
Friday 21/06: 2.20m*
Saturday 22/06: 1.51m
Sunday 23/06: 1.97m
--------------------------------
Week average: 1.82m
*=+1 figures not available for these episodes so an increase of 100,000 has been applied to give close estimate of total viewership.
So we added 100k to the ones with a * because for those, they would have gotten around 100-140k, but on BARB, the C5+1 only shows the Top 10 (and BB only made 3 spaces in the Top 10 for the +1 channel).
Great figures for the eviction, 2.1m excl +1, so yes, around 2.2m including +1. The best HL show ratings come from Sunday. It got 1.97m incl +1 which is very decent! So very close to hitting 2m for a HL show!!

Including +1, the audience was a healthier looking 1.02m (5.11%). Quite a big increase via +1, nearly 20% of the audience coming through C5's catchup service.
+1 saved Saturday from going sub 1m.

That's fantastic! OMG! Salv any chance this series could average 2million officially? 1.9m at the moment? If it keeps growing like this could it?
If it continues to get 1.4-1.5m for HL shows and 1.6m-1.7m for evictions throughout the series it will be pretty much be a solid 1.9m-2.0m. It depends how well they time shift. Last nights show should get around 1.90m officially. There is always a drop mid series-the end. So I probably expect around 1.8m (similar to BB13, but that confuses me, no one is really sure whether BB13 averaged 1.7m or 1.8m. It's like a mystery) :p
But if 1.53m watched last night, surely over 1.6m should watch the eviction. We could see a 1.7m for Friday (but the warm weather may damage it).

You also have to consider people probably gave up last year due to the fact of the Euros and Olympics and didn't have the time to watch both. People also got bored of the bitching, this series is probably more engaging to people.

Last night yet again received the highest excluding +1 rating for a HL rating for the series. Last night got 1.46m excluding +1. Including +1 must be around 1.54m-1.56m.
Ch5 again thrashed Ch4 for 4 hours!!! 8pm-midnight.
Tonight will be hard. I think this Murray game will certainly run into Big Brother and clash with it which will be a HUGE blow, BUT hopefully Ch5+1 at 10pm can record a massive figure. If it wasn't going to clash and the weather wasn't so nice, I would have expected 1.8m+

People only talk about the fact that it's been 14 years and it's on C5. C5 is more watched than C4 when BB is on. The thing is, less and less people watch TV, so the ratings will clearly decrease.

Saturday got 1.28m including +1. Very good for a Saturday.
Shame about last night though, it got 1.33m last night including +1. It was heavily dented by BBC2 Top Gear which clashed with BB for 20 minutes and I hear that it took around 200k-300k from the Sunday rating. The weather dented everything apart from obviously Wimbledon which peaked at 17.30m and Top Gear.
There are yet no incl +1 for Thursday and Friday. I will keep everyone posted.

Crap rating for a Sunday especially as it was on at 9pm.
What time do we get the officials today?
I think we expected it at the end of the day for yesterday. 1.33m is a it low but not a disaster. Mamma Mia could barely get 2m at 9pm when it premièred with 5m a couple of years ago. The White Queen dropped again to 4m at 9pm.
Urm I think around 2pm-3pm for the officials. I bet a few +1 will be missing like last week. What a pain.
*mazedsalv**
08-07-2013, 10:42 AM
Friday: 1.43m clashed with Andy Murray's semi-final victory
Saturday: 1.28m
Sunday: 1.33m partial clash with Top Gear
Same weekend in BB13 rated as follows...
Friday: 1.48m
Saturday: 1.11m
Sunday: 1.28m clashed with Spain's Euro 2012 victory
So, it looks like BB14 is just beating BB13 in the same weekend. That is quite an impressive figure for the eviction considering the competition and for Saturday also. It was just let down by last night.
Well last night it was also put against the Wimbledon highlights - it was never going to do great.
*mazedsalv**
08-07-2013, 12:53 PM
The officials are out, but some are missing the +1... again. The Week 2 officials don't look that good to be honest. But to be honest, the Week 2 has been the lowest ratings for the show out of the three weeks even on overnights. The week just gone (Week 3) did better than Week 2. Which is why the officials don't look that great.
Monday- 1.61m excluding +1
Tuesday- 1.79m including +1
Wednesday- 1.65m including +1
Thursday- 1.63m excluding +1
Friday- 1.72m excluding +1 (Jemima's eviction). Around 1.82m with +1
Saturday- 1.39m including +1
Sunday- 1.80m including +1
Week 3 will be interesting because two shows got HL highs. 1.45m and 1.46m excluding +1, officially we could be looking at around 1.90m for both incl +1

It is. The biggest threats to BB is TOWIE and Geordie Shore because they share the exact same demographic. It's the same when soaps clash...
TOWIE and Geordie Shore are more competition for BB than Wimbeldon and the football (unless it's a World Cup/Euro) in terms of demo.

Jay Hunt the C4 controller hates BB. The problem with C4 is they keep producing ****e shows and they don't have a big show like BB that brings in viewers and introduces viewers to their content. I really think C4 need a big change or they will be in terminal decline, they are being thrashed every night even 24 hours in A+E is getting much less viewers that it used to.

It depends, C4 as a channel have lower figures now because BB isn't there anymore. It was in natural decline and if you take into account BB10 got 2.5m, 2m could be about right.

They both will be, C4 will be ****ting themselves but Jay Hunt is too stubborn to act/ doesn't have a decent plan to get them healthy again. Ben Frow is very good at his job, C5 will only grow with plans to produce more homegrown content, reducing and shifting imports to 10pm. I fully expect BB to be in his plans.

if channel 4 bought the rights to the glass house, it would smash bb raitngs, big time.

Not only that, the glass house had such big controversy over its similarities to BB I doubt 4 would even go there.

It does not get good ratings in the US so It won't get good ratings over here

1.45m for a Wednesday. Pretty sure that makes it the highest rated Wednesday show. With the least competition of the week, I am sure tonight could climb a tiny bit.

The thing is they seem to be matching last years overnights so far but the time shifts aren't that great.
Its probs gonna average 1.6.
Cant see how people are thinking its gonna be a 2 million average.

I would love a 2 million tonight but a 500,000 jump is a bit much to ask lol.
I thought ratings would be lower though with this weather its been unbearable to stay in.

I'm happy that Big Brother ratings have stayed more or less consistent. I still think apart from the 'hardcore' fans there is still a certain amount of the general public that watch/are interested in the show. Looking on Facebook and stuff I've seen people mentioning Big Brother more and also speaking to friends they've stayed switched on to this series (when last year they gave up quickly).
Given viewing figures are not dropping severely and just fluctuating stably I think Big Brother is doing better than ever on Channel 5.

Fantastic news Salv, I just hope that this series doesn't pull a BB13 and start going downhill ratings wise after the sixth week (it's bound to happen, but I don't think that the Conor incident helped last year at all)

Possibly. It's looking good now though because last nights 1.52m was the highest 10pm show of the series.

1.65+ tonight and I will be very happy :)
That could easily reach 2 million officials :)
Great to see :) surely they must be happy with that. At this rate, BB's main downfall will be when Frow starts bringing new programmes onto the channel that are bringing in higher ratings. Then we should start worrying. For now, it's looking good :) fingers crossed tonight's live feed goes well and onwards :)
Tonight may suffer though - repeats of Sherlock start tonight and if the repeats of things like Miranda and Mrs Brown's Boys are anything to go by, it could knock BB off it's perch :(

Is he the one whos brought that new drama "Love and Hate" I think its called to Channel 5?
It looks amazing like it should be on ITV or something it will probably get about 3 million I think considering the well known actors aswell.
I want Channel 5 to do well but at the same time want other programmes to fail so they have to keep BB lol.
The channel is growing though with its own home made documentaries ect getting high figures. 2 million+ for some :o

Yeah I know what you mean. :D
I assume it's Frow - Jeff Ford certainly didn't seem interested in premiering British dramas on Channel 5. Ben Frow's method seems to be to build on what they have now and then to introduce new programming as time goes on.

Channel 5 really does seem to be developing into the new Channel 4 with its programming.
The fact they are beating them in the ratings so often aswell.
Hope one day Channel 5 can shake off the stigma of being the crap channel or the one people are embaressed to watch lol.
Remember this is the channel that was launched by the Spice Girls as the next best thing.

That's a sound rating last night. Seems to be alot of buzz tonight, i'd expect the viewing figures to at least match yesterdays.
Going back to a previous post, even if five develop shows that bring in 2.5mil overnight, that can only help boost BB's audience, and if it was to boost the cbb average up to around 3million then five really would be laughing all the way to the bank.

Yes, it is up 100k on last week and the highest rating of the last 2 weeks, but I am quite disappointed! Everything was down, EE was in the mid 5m. Didn't think the weather would have had that much of an impact!
Million Pound Drop- 1.47m.
BB beats MPD yet again.
Not the best eviction ratings but at least we have had good highlight show ratings

To put it in perspective:
BB13 Week 4 eviction (Lydia)- 1.35m
BB14 Week 4 eviction (Wolfy)- 1.53m
Week 4 of BB14 is the most watched after Week 1 of BB14 beating Weeks 2 and 3.
