Cupcakes, no harm with Take That and Robbie singing on stage for one date, just one date.. Robbie has been hinting at the fact, plus Robbie and Gary have put their past problems behind them.. The one off stage comeback would be for the fans, Robbie would only sing few tracks for their early days..

Take That will still stay the same (4 members)

Awwwwwwwwww

Take That's wild night on the tiles with old band-mate Robbie Williams was put on hold - after newlywed Mark Owen had to run home to his wife.

Gary Barlow was gutted but couldn't argue. He had already robbed Mark of his honeymoon because the Children In Need gig he had organised was planned long before.

So instead of a big knees-up, Robbie headed off to Paris to promote his album Reality Killed The Video Star, which is heading for number one this Sunday.

The rest of the band - Gary, Howard and Jason - partied with Macca in his backstage dressing room and toasted his fab finale with champers.

Gary told us: "It's all my fault Mark's not on his honeymoon right now. He only got married last weekend and he's such a trouper doing this gig. I'm sorry, Mark."

Robbie Williams has confirmed that he recently recorded some "amazing" songs with his former band Take That.

The singer, who joined the group on stage at a Children In Need charity event last week, revealed the news in a radio interview to be broadcast at Christmas.

"We'd have to have written some incredibly great songs together for me to be very, very excited about the project," he told BBC Radio 2.

"Gaz [Gary Barlow] is an amazing, amazing singer songwriter. I'm honoured to be in the same studio as him, erm, when we do, in the future."

Asked by presenter Kate Thornton if he was lying and had already recorded new material, he replied: "Oh sod it, we've been in and the songs are absolutely amazing."

Williams, whose new album Reality Killed The Video Star lost out to JLS's self-titled debut in the battle for number one, admitted that he wanted to rejoin his former bandmates so that he could feel part of a "gang".

"I want to do it because I've always wanted to be in a gang ever since I left that gang," he said.

"And all the bitterness and resentment's gone now and what is left is a load of love, and watching four guys get together and enjoy each other's company and enjoy the process of writing together. I'm envious of the joy they're having."

Brilliant review from DS!

Take That: 'The Greatest Day'
Released on Monday, November 30 2009

By Mayer Nissim, Entertainment Reporter

Take That are two albums into the most successful pop comeback since Elvis dusted off his leather jacket in '68. While their pre-split records featured some brilliant singles and surprisingly little filler, it's the band's post-return platters that have established them as a credible album act. 2006's Beautiful World had an assured quality throughout and rightfully cemented the boys' return to the top of the pop tree. Last year's The Circus was less immediate, but had enough charm and euphoric pop moments to keep the group flying high.

After successful DVD releases chronicling the visually (and musically) incredible Ultimate Tour, Beautiful World and Circus dates comes Take That's first live album proper. Billed as The Greatest Day - Take That Present: The Circus Live, it does exactly what it says on the tin, with a whopping nine of its 16 selections taken from their last LP. Also present are two songs from their first comeback album ('Patience', 'Shine') and the bridging single 'Rule The World'. That leaves less than a handful of the band's biggest hits ('Pray', 'Back For Good', 'Never Forget', 'Relight My Fire') juggled around the newer stuff. Despite that initial disappointment, The Greatest Day is a triumph.

As anyone who's seen Take That live since their return will know, their faultless backing band give a sense of depth that just can't be compared to anaemic tapes, while the boys' live vocals more than match the instruments. Gary Barlow serves as ringmaster and on tracks like 'Greatest Day' and 'Said It All' he reminds you that he should be lauded not only for his immaculate songwriting but also for the oft-forgotten quality of his voice. Mark Owen's double-header of 'Shine' and 'Up All Night' show that even if Mr Williams never rejoins the group, he's more than capable of filling that cheeky chappy void himself. Jason Orange's 'How Did It Come To This' is even more barmy than on record - you can't help but grin when he asks for "every single pair of hands in the air" because "we're rock and rolling now with Take That". "I know it's a wordy verse", he adds, "But help me out if you know it. Please".

What really surprises is how a cavernous stadium show and one so wedded to a visual theme survives being committed to plastic. Songs that perhaps sounded a little too restrained and polished on record are in fact improved by the energy of the surroundings. Furthermore, the whole disc has been expertly mixed by Bob Clearmountain to offer clarity without dulling the live edges. The extended intro to 'What Is Love' is a case in point, sounding so intimate and hushed it's almost as if you're in the same room as the group. Talking of intimacy, to sweeten the deal the boys have bundled in a bonus disc of their recent Abbey Road session. Like the stadium gig, it's dominated by tracks from The Circus, but it too offers a new dimension, as the stripped-back arrangements unveil layers you didn't know the songs had first time around.

Back on the main disc from Wembley Stadium, the boys certainly missed a trick by failing to rope in Lady GaGa, support act at the gig, to do her thing on 'Relight My Fire' instead of an enthusiastic backing singer. Also, as the band's sole audio live document it may have been preferable for The Greatest Day to be a bit more representative of their whole career. That aside, as an of-the-moment snapshot of a group who have maintained their relevance and class against the odds, it's almost perfect.

From Buzzjack - there is a weekly report from Music Week there. And whilst we're at it:

According to Music Week - the dvd has now sold 287,738 copies.

On the main DVD chart it has dropped from 4 to 7 ... but it is still number 1 in the music DVD chart.

The CD sold over 123,000 copies and although that may seem a small amount - Music Week has said that that is the highest number of copies sold in a first week for a live album in over a decade.

Eeeek to this,The Circus is the 4th best selling album of the decade and they're the 2nd best artist just after The Beatles! BRILLIANT!

Guitar bands have enjoyed a good decade, with Kings of Leon, Coldplay, Snow Patrol and The Killers all featuring in the top 10 best-selling albums of the decade.

Only By The Night, Kings of Leon's fourth album, was released in 2008 and is credited with transforming the Tennessee band from a niche to a mainstream act.

It was also a successful decade for British artists, with Amy Winehouse, Take That and Duffy recording hugely successful albums. Winehouse's Back to Black, released in 2006, was the decade's second highest-selling long-player, followed by Coldplay's 2005 work X&Y.

However, the list of best-selling artists of the decade tells a slightly different story.

Four decades after they split, The Beatles come top, boosted by sales of 1, their greatest hits compilation, in 2000 and the re-release of all their previous albums earlier this year.

The enduring popularity of long-standing acts is also demonstrated by the presence of Bob Dylan and U2.

Top 10 best-selling albums of the decade:

1. Only by the Night – Kings of Leon

2. Back To Black – Amy Winehouse

3. X&Y – Coldplay

4. The Circus – Take That

5. Hopes and Fears – Keane

6. Rockferry – Duffy

7. Come Away with Me – Norah Jones

8. Eyes Open – Snow Patrol

9. Scissor Sisters – Scissor Sisters

10. Day & Age – The Killers

Top 10 best-selling artists of the decade:

1. The Beatles

2. Take That

3. The Killers

4. Coldplay

5. Michael Jackson

6. Snow Patrol

7. Robbie Williams

8. Bob Dylan

9. U2

10. Kings Of Leon

First of all you can call me Laura :p And I've already bought 2 couples of his single(well one,I downloaded as well). The thing that annoys me about the campaign is exactly that,it's a campaign. If people genuinely like the song, then whatever they can buy it if they like. But they're just buying it to beat The X Factor which is just moronic. TXF single always get to Number 1 cos people like it. And TT were beaten to 1993 Christmas Number 1 by Mr Blobby, hmph.

Sounds expensive! I paid £35 each once for 2 albums and that was many years ago. Older stuff can be hard to come by. That's why I like looking round markets and rooting in second hand shops for stuff. It doesn't happen much but sometimes you can stumble on a bargain.

Well didn't know if we were on first term names yet!!! Well I don't like the song chosen against it, but i'd rather than that beat it than another predictable X Factor number 1 you know? You are about my age, and I bet when we were kids we used to get excited not knowing who was going to be number 1, well I did anyway!!! X Factor is killing the music industry, and by getting the christmas number 1 the last few years comfirms it. So it should be stopped anyway really, even if this is a bad way. This is not what the Christmas number 1 is about and the 'campaign' is just a prostest against it.

But as this is the TT thread I love that one song, with the great chorus ;)

Some Scottish music thing

Our boys came 6th:

6. TAKE THAT Hampden Park, Glasgow June 20(and the 19th and 21st...)

THEY'LL never match Grace's sheer devil-may-care pop star nuttiness but, as it turns out, Gary Barlow and the lads do put on a bit of a show. The £10million Circus Live production included clowns, dancers and a giant mechanical elephant too. "Scotland, I feel on top of the world," Gary told the thrilled fans. He wasn't the only one.

They're the 3rd hardest working band this year according to The Performing Rights Society

Jason still has hair!!! Pics were from about June 2007,my FB group called 'Jason what were you thinking??' now has 90ish members for a false alarm *facepalm*

Another achievment,2nd and 6th most played songs of the decade :D

Snow Patrol song Chasing Cars was the most widely played song of the decade, according to music licensing body PPL.

The 2006 track originally reached number six in the UK singles chart, but chalked up 94 weeks in the top 75 through download sales.

Take That's Shine was as two while Scissor Sisters track I Don't Feel Like Dancin' finished at three.

The figures were compiled from the number of plays on UK radio, TV, online and in public places such as shops.

Chasing Cars took on a life of its own in terms of airplay after its inclusions on TV shows including US drama Grey's Anatomy and Gavin & Stacey.

Timeless tracks

MOST PLAYED SONGS OF THE DECADE
1. Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol (2006)
2. Shine - Take That (2006)
3. I Don't Feel Like Dancin' - Scissor Sisters (2006)
4. Love It When You Call - The Feeling (2005)
5. About You Now - Sugababes (2007)
6. Rule The World - Take That (2007)
7. You're Beautiful - James Blunt (2004)
8. I Predict A Riot - Kaiser Chiefs (2004)
9. Can't Get You Out of My Head - Kylie Minogue (2001)
10. Crazy - Gnarls Barkley (2006)
Source: PPL
It was also named this week as the nation's favourite song of the decade for a Channel 4 programme.

Snow Patrol frontman and songwriter Gary Lightbody said of the track's enduring appeal: "I think that the song has worked because it has an emotion that people can relate to."

Take That were the only act to have two tracks in the top 10, with Rule The World at six.

While the majority of songs in the top 50 were released in the past decade, some tracks have proved to be timeless with 11 released from previous decades.

The highest entry was Thin Lizzy's 1976 track The Boys Are Back In Town, while the oldest was Aretha Franklin's I Say A Little Prayer from 1968 at 50.

The most recent year for chart entries is 2007, as the tracks need time to build up sufficient plays to figure in the list.

Prestelle were a very cute couple, a shame it didn't last and I wish Chantelle kept herself grounded and her cute ditzy self when she left CBB :(

Also I think Take That will probs win the lifetime achievement award in 2011!

I do like Robbie on his own but not sure of who should have got the award first.. more logical Take That 2010 and Robbie 2011.

Prestelle were so cute! I was GUTTED when they broke up. Chantelle was a bit bad when they broke up but I think she's slowly going back to her old self now. She's looks quite good in the pics I've seen lately.

Yep, I know what you mean. They would have been laughed at if they had come back as a bunch of hasbeens, like that was kind of a trend for a while old bands reforming. They mananged to shake off the 'In it for the money' label which was quite good. Why did they originally split anyway?

They did a section in the show where they all played instruments, yeah. They can all play instruments, actually nearly all of them can play 3. But that's not what they're about, they're about putting on a brill show, giving the audience the best value for money. They're still brilliant live, they've done an acoustic set on their DVD and it was phenomenal but we pay to see a show. It's what TT have always been about.:)
