sales just before xmas were at 1,133,426 and christmas week they sold 312,709 so to date over 4 weeks they have sold 1,446135 copies of the circus and are the second biggest seller of the year just behind duffy who has been out for months!

It has to be 1.5m by now because this is from yesterday which means they're only have to have sold 4,000 today to get to 1.5m and they sell that in about a hour, lol.

Woo for 1.5 million!

Because it's so true. I ran into someone I havn't seen in like 4 months the other day-'Sooooo Robbie's rejoining then' Even complete randomers after about 2 seconds of me meeting them they ask! Jesus.

The boys got the award of 'Bizzare Lords' from The Sun,woot.

SHOVE the Baftas, Brits, and Grammys, the only gongs that matter are the, er, Bizarre Awards.
Just ask COLDPLAY, who won Best Rock Band.

TAKE THAT, OASIS, GIRLS ALOUD and JO WOOD were also among the winners

HOWARD DONALD, JASON ORANGE, MARK OWEN and GARY BARLOW were crowned the new Bizarre Lords.

The lads deserve the honour after another triumphant year.

New Years resolutions from Gaz and Mark

The Take That lads have ruled the world in 2008 - now they want to score brownie points on the home front. Gary Barlow says: "I've been coming and going a bit at home and I need to make more effort. I've been leaving my breakfast material all over the sink, I need to buck up. There's points to be got, there's prizes, and I need a Brucie bonus." While Mark Owen adds: "Maybe just to listen a bit more."

Interview in OK! with Jay and How this week which I don't have so DS is it

Howard Donald has confessed that the success of Take That's new album The Circus has been a "surprise".

The group's record, their second since reforming, topped the Christmas album charts and is the fastest-selling LP of 2008.

Donald told OK!: "It was a surprise. I was very happy with the work we'd done on it and expected it to be successful, but not as successful as it has been."

Jason Orange explained that he and his bandmates have subdued their extrovert personalities since reuniting in 2005.

"The first time around, we had characters that we played up, that we acted out on stage and through the media," he said. "Those characters were either extensions of who we actually were or they were complete alter egos.

"When we got back together again, those roles were quickly re-established. But we're older now and hopefully a bit more mature, so there wasn't the desperation to act on those characteristics and exaggerate them so much."

Take That movie????

TAKE THAT.. THE MOVIE
BAND TO TELL THEIR STORY IN BLOCKBUSTER
By Alice Walker & Katie Hind
Take That are to make a movie about their sensational career in pop.

The fab four were approached by film producers who want to tell the story of their career since they formed in 1990.

The story will feature GARY BARLOW, HOWARD DONALD, MARK OWEN and JASON ORANGE shooting to stardom and in their wilderness years as band members struggled to find solo success.

It is not known yet if ROBBIE WILLIAMS, 34, will join his former bandmates for the project.

A source told VIP: "The boys thought it would be a great idea.

"It is something they have thought about doing but never got the idea off of the ground. It is still supposed to be very hush-hush, though."

We can reveal that the band WON'T have starring roles themselves but will be involved in the casting and directing of the movie.

The story will begin in Manchester, when the five boys were signed up by music mogul NIGEL MARTIN SMITH.

They enjoyed quick success in 1991 with It Only Takes A Minute, which went to number seven in the British charts.

From there, Robbie, Gary, 37, Mark, 34, Jason, 38, and Howard, 40, went on to be household names.

The movie, which has already been tipped to be a huge blockbuster, will also show the in-fighting which saw Robbie quit in 1995.

It will feature the run-up to the rest of the band making the decision to call it a day just a year later after selling 30 million records.

Then comes the moment three years ago when they decided to reunite. The source told us: "The reunion will be the best bit. Take That have been huge since they got back together."

BUT WHO WILL PLAY THE FAB FIVE?

So who will play Take That in the movie? For Gary, we think there's only one contender - porky funnyman JAMES CORDEN. Both struggle with their weight. James's Gavin and Stacey co-star pal MATT HORNE could be Robbie. We reckon Howard bears an uncanny resemblance to Joseph star LEE MEAD - even if Lee is 15 years younger. Mark has to be BABY SMURF, with his squeaky voice. And Jason? We'd go for Emmerdale's RICHARD GRIEVE.

Sales(nicked from the forum)

Take That kept hold of the number 1 slot in this Sunday's chart (fifth week at that position).

UK sales last week were quite low - 46,958

This takes total UK sales to date for The Circus to 1,493,063.

Sales outside the UK are just over 100,000 (spread over eight countries including Ireland)

NEWS!YAY! 4 whole days without an article!

SUPERSTAR Gary Barlow is taking on Simon Cowell — with his own pop reality show on the BBC.

The Take That singer wants to rival Simon’s X Factor with his format which is expected to hunt for a new boyband.

The singer-songwriter is pushing the idea after setting up his own music label, backed by Universal — the arch rival of Simon’s record label Sony BMG.

He offered the idea first to ITV. He worked with them on last year’s musical reality flop Britannia High.

But chiefs turned him down over fears they would annoy Simon — their £20million star signing. So the 37-year-old singer went to the BBC who love the concept and want it to air later this year.

Insiders predict the show — which will involve singing and dancing — could end up replacing Andrew Lloyd Webber’s reality programmes.

A BBC source told TV Biz: “Gary is really keen to get into TV and has come up with a cracking idea. We’ve got high hopes for it. If it gets off the ground it could be something we do every year.”

Take That — who reformed in 2006 — are contracted to release one more album and then could disband for good.

Gary recently revealed his desire to take on Simon. He told The Sun: “I will do what he has done — but my way.”
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/article2107218.ece

They better not quit anytime soon though. Although they all have their own stuff, they work best as a four and they know it.

Interview with Gary

Take That is again going through phenomenal success they had in the 1990’s. Gary Barlow spoke about their new album “Circus”.
From one of the biggest bands of the past ten years to an even bigger band –it’s Take That. They formed in 1990 and had six incredible years of hits such as Back For Good, Pray and Everything Changes amongst their eight UK Number One singles. In ’96, a year after losing original member Robbie Williams, the band surprisingly split. Solo careers followed but none getting anywhere like the meteoric success of Take That and in 2006, the band reconvened, without Robbie, for a TV documentary.

Such was the interest that they decided to get back together and they’re having the same success now that they had years ago and have added three more Number One singles to their tally taking the total to eleven. They’ve just released their second album since their reunion and not surprisingly it went straight to the top – it’s called The Circus and it features songs such as Greatest Day that were written by all members of the band: Mark Owen, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and the guy we’re about to hear from, Gary Barlow.

Hi Gary – the new album is another massive success. Things couldn’t get much better for you could they?

Listen until the day we die, we don’t need any more praise. That’s for sure. We’ve had a lifetime’s worth just in the last twenty four hours.

How much did you enjoy making the new album?

You know what, this album has been the most enjoyable record I’ve ever made. Although there was a huge amount of pressure on us, it never felt like it in the studio. We all really, really contributed in the best way, I feel like everybody got what they wanted out of it. But at the same time we still made hit records as well. And, it just feels great, it feels perfect, and it feels like it could be our ultimate record this.

The singing is shared around the band more than previous records.

You know what, not intentionally. I think a lot of the songs picked the singer. It wasn’t a list that we sat down with, Mark has to sing four, I have to sing, we don’t do it like that. We literally choose the best songs and they usually pick the right singer.

The cover photo has you on a tightrope – how high were you for that photo?

About six foot off the ground, so if you count then your foot to your head, you’re about eleven foot off the ground, and it was pretty scary. Mark was actually the best. And I was the worst. And what they cut off was, when I was on the tightrope, there was a guy holding my belt at the back. They’ve cut him off.

Is the circus going to be the theme of the tour?

Who knows? Who knows? I mean basically, you know, we’re gonna be playing about nineteen stadiums next summer. We’re gonna give everybody the show of a lifetime.

Are you fed up of the constant questions about the possibility of Robbie re-joining theReuters-.--.-Take That band?

As long as we’re alive, people are gonna ask if we’re going to get back together. And I actually, I do believe we will one day. I just don’t know when. And I don’t think it’ll be next summer. But who knows in the future? I know right now, the five of us are rebuilding our friendship at the moment. And that’s really the only place to start. So who knows where it’ll go from there. We’re doing it kind of individually as well, I get an email every week from Rob, and you know Mark gets one every other week. Jason phones him once a week, I mean we’re all keeping in touch with him in different ways. But, it’s really fun getting to know him again, I must say, and with the five of us we’re together a lot over the summer, and it felt like ten years had just gone by in a second. It just felt like we were back in the nineties.

The reunion has been such a success. What doubts did you have back then when you initially thought about getting back together?

Maybe that’s the attraction of the music industry, you never know what’s round the corner, you never know when you’re half a step away from you know, world wide success or you’re half a step away from being dropped. I think that’s the lure of the music industry, it’s just so unpredictable.

The boys were filming the video for their next single today(which is 99.9% Up All Night)

Music legends Take That are currently filming a video in Croydon.

The man band are in Gurney Crescent, Waddon, this afternoon (Wednesday) which has been closed off to the public.

It seems the band were hoping to secretly film the video without anyone realising they were in the borough.

Tarpaulin is covering the entrance to the road and as many as 11 security guards are in place to ensure filming runs smoothly.

A street party scene is being filmed and, when asked what he thought of being in Croydon, the band's Howard Donald told the Advertiser: "It's great. The street's brilliant and everybody's been really friendly."

Adults and children are seated at a long table, with music blaring out of loud speakers and Union Jack flags decked out in the road.

Our reporter at the scene said: "Colourful bunting is hanging off of various houses, balloons are in the street and there are big film lights and crew in the street.

"Jason Orange has just walked past me but hardly anyone seems to have known about this."

edit:What cover will you be buying?

I never really buy it [too pricy], I just tend to read it in WHSmiths because there's a stand in the way so none of the staff notice hahaha. I wish I'd bought the Sam Sparro one though.

Gary's  duh

Climb news!

BT is to sponsor nine celebrities taking part in an expedition to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for Comic Relief. The BT Red Nose Climb will see celebrities including Gary Barlow (pictured), Chris Moyles and Cheryl Cole climbing the South African mountain for charity.

BT will cover the costs of the stars' attempts to tackle the 19,340ft mountain, and will also be running a number of fundraising initiatives to help raise funds for Comic Relief.

The expedition will begin next month. Other celebrities set to take part include Ronan Keating, Denise Van Outen, Alesha Dixon, Fearne Cotton, Kimberly Walsh, and Ben Shephard.

The BBC will broadcast an hour-long documentary of the attempt on BBC One during the week leading up to Red Nose Day on March 13 2009.

John Petter, consumer managing director at BT Retail, says: "This campaign is a natural fit with our values, brand and products and we have some exciting initiatives that we'll be revealing as we get closer to the expedition."

BT will also be raising funds through marketing initiatives in its business units including BT Vision, BT Total Broadband, BT Business and the BT Shop, as well as a major employee fundraising programme. BT will also run the donation line on the telathon night and its eDonate system will provide a secure online back-up for Comic Relief's website.

The public will be able to sponsor the celebrities on a dedicated Kilimanjaro page on www.rednoseday.com.

Ross

Don't like The Circus or You

Princess
18-01-2009, 04:22 PM
I like You but it seems to be a bit of a filler.

The ones I think they have to have on tour are

The Garden
Greatest Day
Said It All(it makes me cry so bad-I want it live!)
Julie
How Did It Come To This
Up All Night
What is Love or Here
Hold Up A Light
She Said<3333

I think Hello,The Circus,You and one of How's aren't neccessary(or however you spell that word)

Ross
18-01-2009, 04:24 PM
I hope Julie is the third single though. That's gonna be number 1. I'll be surprised if Up All Night doesn't go to number 1, but with all artist about atm. Top 3 I reckon.

Princess
18-01-2009, 04:25 PM
I think it will get Number 1,purely because they're Take That and a lot of people seem to love it. Fans ain't keen on Julie being released,we weren't happy with I'd Wait For Life being released and it was Number 17 so the guys should trust our judgement!

Ross
18-01-2009, 04:27 PM

http://entertainment.uk.msn.com/music/spotlight/gallery.aspx?cp-documentid=13313282

Heat story about it(they love the boys as much as me!)

We always get very excited whenever anything to do with Take That comes along, but we’re not really that bothered about the new music video for their next single Up All Night. OK, that is in fact a great big MASSIVE lie, of course we are ridiculously excited about it, it’s Take That for goodness sake. We still think that one day we’ll get to run off and marry one them (do you hear us Jason? Hello?). Anyway… back to the video, we love the simple street party concept, it’s so feel-good and cute, and we’re not sure how they’ve done it, but the boys look even hotter than ever. But what do you lot think? Do you like the video, or do you long for the days when the boys would roll about naked covered in jelly?

http://www.heatworld.com/Article/8796/Take+That/Its+the+new+Take+That+video!+SCREAM!

I managed to get a patient to let me steal his telly to watch it,lol. But was called off just as it was starting! Glad to see a bit of it during the day though, kept me going till I saw the whole thing at home. Also funniness-Gary vanishes at the end cos he was at the hospital!

Non-news

Take That's record-breaking tour is set to be as camp as you like after the four boys dashed off to Las Vegas in a secret trip to find inspiration and glam.
Gary Barlow and the boys have finally started to piece together some ideas for their shows after making the dash to Sin City before Christmas.

My insider promises the man-band's show bonanzas are now set to be their best yet, revealing: 'The lads actually went to Las Vegas at the end of last year to try and get some ideas for the show.'

'Now it's going to be their most spectacular and energetic show ever', said the source.

Tickets for the shows sold out in four hours last year.

But the pressure has been getting to group member Howard Donald after he revealed at the MTV Awards the troop were yet to figure out a show despite the sell out.

Donald confessed: 'We're a little nervous all the tickets have been sold and we don't have a show together yet. We're working on it.'

Barlow promised: 'It's the most tickets we've ever sold so we have to deliver the biggest show we've ever done.'

http://www.metro.co.uk/fame/article.html?Take_That_shows_set_for_Vegas_theme&in_article_id=539223&in_page_id=7

We knew they went to Vegas ages ago, they said they were on a boys road trip. And they went before the Ultimate Tour. 'Citing though,I got so hyper today thinking about the tour.

Anyone know how many people can fit in Wembley Stadium? Cos people are saying 90,000 to me but I think it's less.

Gary's hurt his spine!! :( Hope he'll be alright

From Comic Relief

Due to a hectic training schedule for his Comic Relief climb of Kilimanjaro and to promote the new Take That single 'Up All Night', the muscles in Gary' Barlow's back have gone into spasm. Gary saw an eminent specialist this morning together with Professor Greg Whyte who is the trainer for the 'BT Red Nose Climb' and has been treated appropriately for this minor injury.

There is no cause for concern as long as Gary continues to respond well to treatment and rests from now until he departs for the climb. Gary saw the specialist as a precaution because he is determined that he will be fit and well to continue his mission to raise mountains of cash for Red Nose Day which falls on March 13th this year.

And the Sun's version of things

TAKE THAT’s GARY BARLOW has been laid up with an agonising back injury — just days before he is due to climb 19,000ft Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief.
The singer, 38, injured his fourth vertebra while training for the trek.

But he was said to be determined to be fit in time to leave on Friday.

Gary was hours from pulling out of performances at the Brit Awards and a benefit concert for Warchild on Wednesday — but kept going with strong painkillers.

The next day the Back for Good singer was whisked off for a scan at the Olympic Medical Institute in Harrow, West London.

A source said: “Gary has had a twinge in his back for a few weeks. He has a baby daughter and lifting her also put pressure on it.

“He is now flat on his back at home so the swelling goes down.”

A Comic Relief spokeswoman said: “We are fortunate to have the support of eminent sport professionals on the climb. Gary is lucky they found the injury in early stages.”

Celebrities including Radio 1’s CHRIS MOYLES, 34, and GIRLS ALOUD beauty CHERYL COLE, 25, will also take part in the BT Red Nose Kili Climb in Tanzania, Africa.

TO sponsor the celeb climbers go to rednoseday.com.

Haha! We'll try our best :P

Gone up to 23 on iTunes, woot!

DS reviews of UAN and the b-side '84'-which Jason is lead on!

Despite not winning any gongs and quite blatantly miming, Take That still managed to provide one of the biggest 'wow' moments at this week's Brits. Donning sexy specs and zooming into the crowd aboard a spaceship hanging from the rafters, their performance was roughly 500 times as exciting as one of Duffy's acceptance speeches. What's more, this light-show spectacular came just as people were starting to question if Gary Barlow had been listening to too much Snow Patrol - yet another case of the comeback champs side-stepping expectations.

'Up All Night' pulls a similar trick, reminding casual fans that there's more to the manband than mammoth ballads. Mark Owen, now firmly characterised as 'the cheeky one', takes the lead on this Beatles-esque pop ditty. "I met this girl last night and she said, 'Why won't you marry me?" he sings over parping tubas and finger-clicking rhythms. "Well I'm too young for that, too dumb for that, too tired for that, too proud for that, too cool for that... Would you like to come back to my flat?" This isn't quite as good as 'Shine', but it's got enough charm and pop smarts to keep the TT bandwagon rolling on merrily.****
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/a147294/take-that-up-all-night.html

We've got a busy week of new releases coming up and there's more than one worthy contender for our B-side of the Week title. To make the most of the situation, we're sneakily going to squeeze in two - starting with a very special exclusive from Take That's new single 'Up All Night'.

Since making their comeback in 2006, Take That have been fairly unstoppable, scoring the fastest-selling UK tour in history and the fastest-selling album of the millennium. Gary Barlow and Mark Owen tend to take centre-stage on their singles, but a listen to their new B-side might lead to calls for Jason to grab the mic a bit more often.

In much the same vein as 'Shine' and 'Up All Night', '84' is an perky, upbeat offering that's essentially Jason Orange's nostalgic ode to his youth. Taking lead vocals on the ska-infused verses, Jason recalls his first sexual experience - "heaven knows it was like a heart attack" - with a pretty girl with flowers in her hair. Fast-forward 24 years and Jason informs us he's single, living in London and there are "10,000 troops out fighting in Iraq". He also lets us know he's on the lookout for someone special to bring him a nice cuppa in the morning - any takers?

The result is charming, uplifting and offers yet more evidence as to why Take That are the biggest group in the country at the moment. The full version is available on the 'Up All Night' CD single, out March 2, but for now here's a 30-second taster:

Sometimes their B-sides are way better than the single! Only one I didn't like was 'Stay Together' on Rule the World but the single was so good for that it didn't matter!

One of my fav TT songs ever is a German B-side to Shine 'We Love To Entertain You'

Nicola

Will remember to watch Paul O' Grady when I get back from town tomorrow probably!

Not sure why Mark seems to be the one my bloke thinks I'd fancy - probably something to do with him liking 4 Minute Warning and Gary apparently being a "gimp". Gary was my main favourite the first time round as well so that's got something to do with it!
