Just saw this on DS

Gary Barlow has been enlisted to help Jade Ewen achieve Eurovision glory at this year's contest in Moscow.

The 21-year-old Londoner was selected as the UK's entry last month after triumphing on the BBC show Your Country Needs You.

Ewen has been taken under the wing of theatre impresario Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, who has promised to play the piano for the hopeful when she performs at the event on May 16.

However, Barlow has now been added to the team to help with Ewen's performance techniques, according to the Daily Star. Lloyd Webber said: "Gary is the man to do the job on the pop front."

The sessions may have to wait until the Take That singer returns from a charity hike up Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief. Barlow has been resting after sustaining a back injury in training for the 19,330ft ascend.

Take That have shot the music video for 'The Garden' in South London.

The group, dressed from head to toe in black, spent the day filming at the Greenwich Maritime Museum.

Despite the song being scheduled for release in Europe, the band have yet to confirm whether it will be the third UK single from six-times platinum album The Circus.

Gary Barlow, who recently suffered a back injury, is currently preparing for a two-week trek up Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for Comic Relief.

Take That release new single 'Up All Night' on March 2.

Sun
TAKE THAT titan GARY BARLOW tore himself away from his treadmill to film the lads’ latest video.

The singer has been trying to get in tip-top condition for the upcoming BT Red Nose Kilimanjaro climb.

But he a found time to shoot the promo to forthcoming single The Garden in the grounds of the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, London, with bandmates HOWARD DONALD, JASON ORANGE and MARK OWEN, who can be seen pictured with him above.

Gary and other stars including RONAN KEATING and FEARNE COTTON leave today to tackle Africa’s highest peak.

Up All Night downloaded from now will count towards next week's chart which is the most important as the physical is released tomorrow and the joint sales need to be high if they're in with a chance of getting another number 1!

Gary Barlow has collapsed with back pain after just one day of his Comic Relief trek up Kilimanjaro.

The Take Thatter complained of back pain before starting the trek and had to use two walking sticks for support.

But the Daily Mirror reports he "collapsed in a heap" after four hours of trekking as he could no longer bear the pain.

"He was in a great deal of pain but everyone rallied around him to get him through it. It was a hellish experience," a source said.

Howard Donald: We get big bras thrown at us
Take That singer jokes that he uses them as backpacks

Tuesday, 3 March 2009

Howard Donald says the behaviour of Take That's fans has changed now they're older.

‘We tend to get more bras nowadays and they are a lot bigger!’ he tells This Morning.

‘I can use them as backpacks now and carry my stuff around in them.’

Bandmate Mark Owen, 37, admits they're not pelted with pants as much these days.

‘We don't get so many knickers thrown at us anymore,’ he adds.

Child's play for Mark
Simon Donohue
March 06, 2009

IT'S a case of art imitating life for Take That dad Mark Owen, who provides lead vocals for the manband's latest single release - Up All Night.

What with two-year-old Elwood Jack and Willow Rose, only three months, in the house, Mark and girlfriend Emma Ferguson don't get that much sleep.

"I got about four hours and that's all last night," says Mark, still managing to sound as chipper as ever. "One of them has a bit of a cold at the moment so it's not that easy.

"But I absolutely love being a dad. It really does serve as a reality check - I spend all day as a pop star in rehearsals and then I go home and I'm a dad.

"It's the best of both worlds. Like today, I'm in rehearsals and I'll be home in time to tuck my son up in bed and give my little girl a cuddle."

Mark, 37, is living in London these days - it's where his girlfriend hails from - but still travels up north as often as he can to see his mum and dad.

And he says the video for Up All Night, based on a street party like those held in 1977 to celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee, brought back memories of his Oldham childhood.

"The thing I remember most is getting a special coin," he says.

But what he doesn't remember, however, is whether he has met Her Royal Highness personally.

"I THINK I've met her but I can't be certain," he admits, slightly embarrassed. "That's not being blasé and I do love the Royals. It's just that things were so hectic when we did a few of those Royal variety performances that I can't really remember what happened. We certainly met Prince Charles a couple of times."

Back to the present, Mark quips that the band only decided to release a single with him singing lead because they knew that principal songwriter Gary Barlow would be climbing Kilimanjaro, raising money for Comic Relief.

"That's all right," Owen adds. "He's half way up a mountain and we're left behind to do all the hard work!"

Some of that work includes early rehearsals for this summer's gargantuan Circus tour and Owen says that the band have already formulated some pretty wild ideas.

"We meet twice a week to talk about what we might do on the tour.

"It's one thing to get together in the pub and come up with wild ideas and quite another to do them. What we've always needed in Take That is someone to act as the voice of reason."

Speaking of which, Owen still isn't ruling out a return for Robbie Williams.

"The nice thing is, in the last year, everybody has been in contact a lot more and he's back in England now, so he's more a part of our circle.

"But the weird thing is, we don't talk about that sort of thing.

"For us, if Robbie turned round and said, `Can I come and do something?', it wouldn't be a problem."

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/showbiz/s/1100803_childs_play_for_mark

From today's Metro

Barlow was once dismissed as an also-ran - ironic, given that a gentle stroll looked like it might trouble the chubby Cheshire songsmith. With Take That disbanded and Robbie aiming to occupy the US chart's summits - a feat that on the evidence of Rudebox, now seems as likely as him making contact with one of the little green men he's become obsessed with - Barlow looked like a busted flush. But Patience paid off; fast forward a decade or so to a slimline Barlow hitting new heights with hits that outclass anything Robbie's managed since Angels. Not only is buff Bazza back for good, he's climbing Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief, thumbing his (no longer) big, red nose at Robbie, leaving the UFO-spotter to stare forlornly into space.

Climb team now all reached high camp and attempting the peak at whatever their midnight time is! How brilliant!!

[quote]Barlow confesses Brits miming to Moyles
Thursday, March 12 2009, 05:30 GMT

http://images.digitalspy.co.uk/09/09/160x120_take_that_generic_5.jpg

Chris Moyles has revealed that Gary Barlow confessed to miming with Take That when they performed at this year's Brit Awards ceremony.

Speaking on The Chris Moyles Show on BBC Radio 1, the DJ said that he asked the singer about the alleged lip-synching when the pair climbed Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief.

Moyles explained: "[Gary] said: "Listen, they said 'Do you want to come down from the ceiling in a space ship or do you want to be on stage?'

"But if you come down in the spaceship you can't sing live because of the speakers and the feedback...so spaceship it is."

Barlow also reportedly told Moyles that the band could not decide whether or not to wear their special glasses for their performance of 'Greatest Day'.

From the site

There are three opportunities to get your Take That TV injection over the next couple of days!

First up, there’s an unmissable documentary on tonight charting the ups and downs – literally! – of Gary’s Mount Kilimanjaro climb. Find out how he got on with the other celebrities, what life was really like at high altitude and all the behind-the-scenes gossip. Tune in to BBC1 at 8pm to catch it.

Then tomorrow night, prepare to be thoroughly spoilt with two Take That performances on Comic Relief. Watch them perform their stunning album track ‘The Garden’ on BBC1 at 9.45pm, then switch over to BBC2 to enjoy ‘Up All Night’ at 10.15pm.

Woot for them doing The Garden-hopefully that'll increase album sales.

SCREAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM AMERICAN review!!!!!!! A GOOD one!!!! ARGHHHH. From America!!!!!

In this time of economic crisis, Take That's The Circus is one instance where Americans should be encouraged to buy British. The UK's biggest boy band of the early '90s reunited (sans Robbie Williams) in 2005. Since then, they've issued two top-notch albums full of mature, Beatles-esque pop numbers with the help of Los Angeles producer John Shanks. The Circus, released in Europe in December, is the latest. Key standouts include The Garden, Said It All and the John Lennon-infused title track. Though only available on import, Britain's chief at Universal recently told Billboard the album may just wash ashore stateside in 2009.

Haha that was just before placement, one week down, woot.

Emm this week they're still doing promo, none of which I have any clue of yet so I'll post that later. More Robbie crap. But I adore this story

Mark Owen has started attending a mother-and-baby group in South London, claim tabloid reports.

According to The Sun, the Take That star is a regular at Monday meetings with his two-year-old son Elwood.

"The Monday classes used to be very low-key," said a source. "Everyone would turn up without a scrap of make-up and wearing any old clobber.

"Looking glamorous was never top of anyone's priorities. But since Mark began showing up that's changed hugely. It can be like a fashion show some weeks."

The insider added: "All the women want Mark to do a bit of singing for the Monday group, but everyone has so far been too shy to ask him.

"He is a lovely chap so no-one wants to impose, but he is going to be asked soon."

Owen and long-term partner Emma Ferguson also have four-month-old daughter Willow Rose.

Robbie 'a boost for Take That cash'

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/21/20090327/ten-robbie-a-boost-for-take-that-cash-5f8abb3_1.html

Each member of Take That will benefit financially if Robbie Williams rejoins the band, a music industry expert has said.

The 35-year-old singer is reportedly keen for a reunion with the group and has been in touch with his former band-mates.

PRS for Music, which distributes royalties to song-writers, composers and music publishers, said the other band members would make more money if the star rejoined them.

Barney Hooper, head of public relations at PRS for Music, said: "Take That's tours will sell-out anyway but if Robbie rejoins the group it will give them the ability to repeat their tours because people will go back to see them altogether. It also gives them the ability to extend their tours so everyone benefits financially by Robbie coming back."

Mark Owen, 37, Jason Orange, 38, Howard Donald, 40, and 38-year-old Gary Barlow - who Williams is believed to have fallen out with before he quit Take That - split in 1996, a year after Williams left.

But in 2005 the group reformed without Williams and have since sold more than six million albums and scored number one hits with Patience and Shine.

Now it looks like the youngest member of the original group, who's solo hits include Angels and She's the One, could finally rejoin the band.

Williams told the Daily Mirror: "I'm in regular contact with them and it's looking more likely by the week. The lads all seem up for it. I think it would be fun. Let's see what happens, but my head's in the right place, so the timing could be right if Gary calls. I think it would be fun. It would be good."

Amazingggg news. Really looking forward to this!

World Rights to a photographic book by Take That have been acquired by Rowland White at Michael Joseph from Eugenie Furniss and Sol Parker at William Morris and Jonathan Wild at 10 Management. The book is to be published in two volumes and will celebrate the Take That story, from the formation of the band in 1990 right up to the present day.

The images will include personal pictures, previously unseen images from the Take That archive, as well as specially commissioned, stunning new photography. The accompanying text will be written by the band.

Jonathan Wild, on behalf of the band said: "The guys have wanted to do a book for a long time, but it was important that the timing, as well as the creative idea was right. They’re really looking forward to producing what will be a fantastic collector’s piece featuring imagery spanning almost two decades along with comment which is both honest and personal."

White said: "The inspiring return of Take That has been pop's biggest and best good news story. And nothing short of astonishing. I'm very proud indeed that Penguin will be collaborating with the nation’s favourite band on this ground- breaking and enormously exciting project."

The book will be published in October 2009 following the band’s summer tour.

ARGHHHHHHHHH. More tickets going on sale tomorrow morning and AMAZING support acts confirmed! Soooooooooooooooo excited now.

Following unprecedented demand for tickets (erm, hello, they’re Take That), Gary, Mark, Howard and Jason are set to release a further 15,000 tickets for this summer’s The Circus tour. Screeeam! The boys have also confirmed their support-line up – which includes the likes of The Script, The Saturdays, The James Morrison and The Lady GaGa (as long as she's recovered from her "exhaustion" in time) – with the extra 15,000 tickets going on sale at 9am tomorrow. While speculation grows as to whether Robbie will join the lads on their tour, can we just take this opportunity to look at the above picture... Swoon. So, will you be first in line for tickets tomorrow morning? We're planning on going to see the guys at least five times.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHH

Just read on the forum that the boys are going to be on Jonathan Ross! He said it on his Twitter but I can't find the Tweet.

Also from Gaz

Wow can't believe it's been so long since I last updated this!
First and most important little Daisy is great. We've only made her sleep in the garden 5 times so far so all good. Dan and Em have accepted her into our family and all is getting back to normal.

Lots of respect to Dawn and all women who go through child birth.
Reminds me how useless us men are.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to comic relief.
the climb was amazing but we couldn't of done it without your support. We received all the messages you sent and it really spurred us on !!
If I ever have a stupid idea like that again please hit me !! it was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life and one I don't want to repeat !

Anyway we're in rehearsals now for the big tour. Can't wait. You guys will be blown away.
Trying to get fit but still getting over my back problem. It's nearly better now but I'm so impatient it can't happen quick enough. Here we go !!

Watch The Premiere of The Brand New Video For 'Said It All''

Take That have revealed that their next single will be the amazing ‘Said It All’, out on 15th June. With Gary on lead vocals, the lighters-in-the-air, show-stopping third single from the multi-platinum album The Circus will be released to coincide with the band’s record-breaking UK tour, which kicks off in Sunderland in June.

You can catch the exclusive premiere of the video tomorrow morning (Friday 8th May) on GMTV between 8 and 9am. It will then be available to view afterwards from 10am here on www.takethat.com. Details about the video are being kept firmly under-wraps, but we can reveal that it was directed by Lindy Heymann, who has previously worked on videos for Faithless and Suede.

Got an idea of how you think the video will look? Maybe you’ve come up with a unique suggestion all of your own? We’d love to hear your thoughts and predictions, so head over to the forum and share them now. Then when you’ve seen the video, head back and let everyone know what you think!

From Coleen Nolan' column in Woman magazine

Gary Looks Fab!

"It was lovely to see Gary Barlow out and about with his wife Dawn, following the birth of baby number three, Daisy. What I can't believe is just how much of a fox Gary has turned out to be. You'd never have guessed it! Back in the day we all thought Gary was the brains behind the band, but now he's the hunk too!"

Actually speaking of the babies Willow was born back in November and no pics yet! Although no one saw any proper pictures of Elwood,we saw him in the DVD extra's when he was like 16 months old.

OMFG I just watched the Beautiful World tour and I'm even more excited now! Like that tour was AMAZING and they said this one is going to be better! Last time they were dots, this time when I'm front row they'll be a few metres away!

If I manage to stay spoiler-free for a week in between when the tour starts and my date I'll know NOTHING. Every single thing will be a suprise. Like who would have predicted last tour they would have pole dancing, lapdancing, lasers, crawling across the floor, everything about CIBM,hoodies etc etc. No one could have predicted it. And even knowing all that the tour last time was amazing and now I'll know nothing it'll be unbelievable!

The crowd's are going to be HUGE,20,000 last time, this time 90,000 people all doing the Never Forget claps and singing along. OMFG.

And I'm going 6 TIMES! It hasn't really dawned on me that I am going this many times,I've been saying it but like 6 times! That is a lot and it's going to amazing, amazing, amazing! I can't bloody well wait!

Gary Barlow's wealthy existence
Gary Barlow will be rich until he dies.

The Take That singer - who penned most of the band's hit records, including 'Back For Good' and 'Never Forget' - has never embarked on a frugal lifestyle, despite his 10-year break from the band, because he has more money than he needs.

He said: 'The first time around I was the only songwriter, so I'm OK until the day I die. Sure you don't have to lose your house, but money is no comfort when you lose your career. In 1993 I realised I had more money than I could ever spend, so from that point I never worried about money.'

The 38-year-old star also admits he was shocked by the reaction the band - also consisting of Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen - received when they reformed in 2006.

Gary explained: 'From doing this comeback tour and releasing an album, it's just blown up. For me, it's been more successful than the first time round. And it feels a lot more comfortable - we're much happier than the first time around so it feels fantastic.'

Take That convoy pulls up at Stadium of Light

Date: 29 May 2009
Here they come.
The Take That entourage has landed on Sunderland soil and the stunning stage and set for the band's Circus Live tour are well under way.

Fifty-nine Take That trucks arrived at the Stadium of Light this week, carrying the staging, lights, set and full production, and work is well under way to transform the football stadium into a grand music venue.

The secret set is being kept well under wraps so the surprise is not spoiled for the thousands descending on the city to see them next Friday and Saturday.

http://www.sunderlandecho.com/news/Take-That-convoy-pulls-up.5315503.jp

WHEN TAKE THAT announced their stadium tour last year, blokes across the country had to dive for cover as women grabbed the phone to book their tickets.
A staggering ONE MILLION were snapped up quicker than a custard cream from GARY BARLOW's biscuit barrel when his missus goes out.

But for any loyal fans of Britain's No1 man band who missed out, I have the ultimate competition.

I am giving away seats at EVERY NIGHT of Take That's The Circus Live 2009 tour, which kicks off in Sunderland next Friday.

The 20-date tour takes in Coventry, Dublin, Cardiff, Glasgow and Manchester before four sell-out shows in London at Wembley Stadium in early July.

I've teamed up with leading entertainment online retailer Play.com to give away a pair of VIP tickets to each gig. The prize includes a £100 goodie bag.

But that's not all.

I've also got THREE standard pairs of seats for every single one of the shows to be won.

And there's still more.

I have 30 pairs of tickets for a special invite-only gig the band will be doing at Sunderland's Stadium of Light on Thursday night, meaning you'll get to see The Circus in action before anyone else.

That means there are an amazing 220 TICKETS up for grabs.

Tour support acts include LADY GAGA, THE SCRIPT, JAMES MORRISON and GARY GO.

If you can't be there, Play.com is giving customers a piece of the Take That action.

Check out play.com/takethat for goodies including CDs, downloads, tour DVDs and pre-order the new single, Said It All.

You can also save ten per cent on Take That products until July 6 by entering the code TAKETHAT at the checkout.

TAKE That have fallen foul of neighbours by belting out their hits in an aircraft hangar.

The pop favourites have spent the last month rehearsing at RAF Cardington in Bedfordshire.

But things have not all gone to plan for the chart-busting group – who stayed at the historic Swan Hotel in Bedford for a month.

According to locals in sleepy Cardington Village, the quartet have been disturbing their peace and quiet by belting out hits including Back For Good at all hours.

Their summer stadium tour kicks off on Friday and they have been fine-tuning their stage act in the hangar, originally built for the development of airships in 1915.

It has also been used for filming blockbusters such as Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow.

But last night one resident was far from happy.

He said: “Take That might think they sound fantastic but just try telling that to my seven-month-old daughter.

“We live in Cardington Village and it’s just too loud. Some days we have a real problem getting her to sleep because of the noise from the hangar.”

The disgruntled local added: “They seem to be practising constantly.

“Of course, they think most of the sound stays within the aircraft hangar but I can assure you it travels.

“You have to remember they are getting ready to play stadium gigs so you can just imagine the volume at which they are belting their songs out.

“Some days it has sounded like we are having our very own Take That gig.

“I’m just glad they seem to have moved on now.”

The top-selling band – Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Howard Donald and Mark Owen – are set to play a string of gigs across the country this summer, starting at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on Friday and Saturday.

Other shows will be at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium and Wembley Stadium in London.

Meanwhile Take That are set to release their latest single Said It All on June 15.

The video for the song, which was premiered on GMTV earlier this month, features all four band members dressed up as vintage circus clowns, fitting in with the circus theme of the tour.

They have enjoyed a triumphant comeback since reuniting in 2005 after splitting in 1996.

Rumours have circulated that they could be rejoined by original member Robbie Williams.

But that idea seems to have now fizzled out.

Williams’ best pal Jonathan Wilkes said earlier this month the Angels singer will not return and was writing his own new material.

Take That frontman Gary Barlow today told Sunderland to get ready for the biggest party Wearside has ever seen.
As the boys put the finishing touches to their stunning show that kicks off at the Stadium of Light tonight he took time out to speak to the Echo.

Gary said: "It's going to be the greatest day of our lives.

"This is like a dream come true for us. This is a massive, massive tour and not just because of the amount of people, it's the sheer size of the tour as well.

"It's probably seven or eight times bigger than anything we've done before."

Gary and Howard spoke exclusively to the Echo as they prepared to join Mark and Jason on stage for final rehearsals today.

Howard added: "We're really excited. It's going to be a really big day for us and we can't wait to get it started."

After a week of rehearsals the boys are raring to get out there in front of their fans to strut their stuff on stage.

And despite battling pre-show nerves, they have vowed to impress their army of admirers with what they claim is their best show yet.

With plenty of surprises in store, which the boys are keeping well under wraps, flamboyant costumes and some pioneering magic, The Circus Live is definitely going to push the boundaries of gigging.

"This is such a great venue," Gary said. "I can't believe there hasn't been anything put on here before, I think Steve Bruce will be made up.
"We're quite nervous because this is the first night and we've put so much hard work into it.

"We will be doing things that have never been done on stage before and that have never even been done in concert before so we hope to lead on that."

Since landing in Sunderland last weekend, the boys' jam-packed schedule has not given them much time to discover Sunderland but they have had a little time to get to grips with Seaham, where they are staying.

"It's been beautiful weather and there's such a lovely coastline here," Howard said.

"One day, when we had a bit of spare time, me and Gary went for a stroll along the beach and it was absolutely stunning. You're so lucky to have that."

Take That are no strangers to the North East.

Since their first tour in 1991 when they turned up at Newcastle City Hall in one mini bus – a world away from the 59 buses that landed at the Stadium last week – there has only been one tour that they've started elsewhere.

"Starting in the North East is an omen for us now. The reason we keep coming back is the audiences are so great so let's keep that up," Gary said.
