I admit to being completely ignorant on the illegal immigrants / asylum seekers/ daily boat people .. .

I do see videos online most days highlighting the trouble caused by some of the above though .


Also in all the tv and online coverage of these thousands of illegal boat people landing on our shores each and every week … you never see any families .. no women.. no children ..

Just young , healthy/strong looking men of fighting age - and it confuses & concerns me in equal measures !!!!


If they are are fleeing war torn countries or whatever why are they leaving behind the really vulnerable ones - it makes no sense

More to the point, I know people and have had very intimate family-friend associations with people whose dads came to the U.K. in the ’60s/’70s post-war off the back of the most relentless tribalism and I’ve got nothing but respect. Nothing but respect for people who came to the U.K. with sincerity and in the search of nothing but a better life for them and the families they went on to start, amidst the racism of the time.

The news rarely, if ever, talks about people like that. You’re not going to get the nuance of the full situation re. people coming to this country by boat if all your cue hinges on is the Daily Fail. But there’s no reason to duck with fear about the prospect of boating in itself. What swathes of people have turned it into in more recent times is another thing, but that’s not everyone. That’s not everyone’s intentions or experiences.

I know we all come from different walks of life, with different experiences and associations to boot, but there’s always a certain ignorance that seeps out in conversations like this, and all that does is taint the validity of what valid points people might otherwise be making. Especially when it’s coming from an overwhelmingly monolithic, purely white British perspective that doesn’t account for nuance but just capitulates what’s latest on the news. That doesn’t account for people who (just as an example) fled Nigeria after the Biafran war in a country that could threaten to shoot people as they entered the plane just out of anti-Igbo sentiment. For people like that, taking that boat-trip or making it firmly into that airplane just in the nick of time saved their lives. Yeah? Igbo civilians facing military checkpoints, discrimination and targeted attacks (as-if killing 3 million in that war wasn’t bloody enough, airports being a potential place of danger even for trying to escape the federal nation that savaged many just for their ethnic belonging. So what if someone like that wants to settle in Toxteth, Liverpool in full ’70s/’80s aesthetic, encourage Jheri-curls and start a family that includes four wonderful children, one a pharmacy-technician and a journalist and another an aspiring gamer? Is that the sort of thing the news covers? The follow-up in the lives of people who’ve started or moved families over and their enriching to the overall cultural fabric of society? Does the average pure Brit even care about follow-up or know that boating’s not a recent, exploitative phenomenon?

So yes. There is a certain level of ignorance that seeps out in threads like this, with not enough relevant, direct cultural experiences of a less sinister kind of off-the-paper migration, and that’s not something that necessarily increases with age. It comes with background, associations and cultural mingling, if not membership, and that deserves respect as much as ‘I’m old enough to recount a trillion examples of dubious boat-migration from a biased, distinctly white-British, perspective in any case.’ No shade, no titty, but the other kind of experience isn’t something to mock or demean.

Gardai are investigating the alleged rape of a little Irish girl by an asylum seeker at a Dublin hotel housing IPAS applicants.

The 10-year-old Irish girl is alleged to have been sexually assaulted by a foreign national male, who is understood to be from Africa. The incident is alleged to have occurred on the grounds of the Citywest Hotel in Dublin on Monday morning, not inside the building.

Officers were alerted to the scene where they discovered the young child, who is understood to be in the care of Tusla, the State’s Child and Family Agency.

Sources say the young girl, who has been in care, was not housed at the hotel and investigators are working to establish how she ended up there.

Gardai are probing whether the suspect was living at the property, which was recently purchased by the government to specifically house asylum seekers.

The suspect, who was arrested at the scene, is understood to be an IPAS applicant himself.

Gardai are questioning the suspect, while the child is receiving care following the shocking incident, which occurred on a site that houses IPAS applicants.

Tusla are understood to be aware of the incident and have been contacted for comment.

The State has been leasing the Citywest site since 2020, first as part of the Covid-19 response and then since 2022 as a transit hub and accommodation centre for both people fleeing the war in Ukraine and people seeking international protection.

I think the problem isn’t so much that the whites commit these crimes too, it’s more so the fact that these people are supposedly coming here from their unsafe loving conditions wherever and then treating UK citizens (mostly under age girls) as they would back in their home countries and then because they don’t have any documentation or any background information, they are way more likely to get away with it and just slip away back into the system to do it again.

A manhunt has been launched for an accidentally released asylum seeker who was jailed for 12 months earlier this year after he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl and a woman in Epping.

Hadush Gerberslasie Kebatu, 41, had been staying at The Bell Hotel in the Essex town, with the incident fuelling weeks of protests at the site.

The Ethiopian national was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity and harassment without violence earlier this month.

District judge Christopher Williams said Kebatu posed a "significant risk of reoffending" when he sentenced him to 12 months in prison in September.

Sky News understands Hadush Kebatu was being released from HMP Chelmsford as he was due to be immediately deported.

He was released on the expectation that he would be picked up by immigration enforcement, but it is currently unclear what happened next. It is understood that the Home Office was ready to take Kebatu to an immigration removal centre.

Sky sources say the search for Kebatu is within Essex, which launched a manhunt after he was accidentally freed on Friday morning.

Hadush Kebatu, who was released in error from HMP Chelmsford on Friday morning, has been arrested.
Kebatu was arrested by Met officers in the Finsbury Park area of London at around 08:30hrs this morning (Sunday, 26 October).
Commander James Conway, who has overseen the operation to find Kebatu, said: “This has been a diligent and fast paced investigation led by specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police, supported by Essex Police and the British Transport Police.
“Information from the public led officers to Finsbury Park and following a search, they located Mr Kebatu. He was detained by police, but will be returned to the custody of the Prison Service.
“I am extremely grateful to the public for their support following our appeal, which assisted in locating Mr Kebatu.”

It makes me think of the young men from vastly different cultures to our own, from God knows where, who have never, and probably will never, contribute anything to this country, laying in warm hotel rooms wrapped in high thread-count sheets while our own people sleep on the street. Why isn't the Left worried about them? Why aren't they as vociferous in their support for them, I wonder?

A few days ago I was just locking up at bedtime when the wind was getting up, blowing plastic plant pots around , it was freezing cold, driving rain that looked like sleet and my thoughts went straight to all the homeless guys living rough in back streets or church graveyards.

How on earth do they survive each night getting so wet and cold and not being able to dry out or get warm ..,then later begging for money for food .. then it’s soon bedtime again
