It's sad how obsessed the racists are with Meghan, they probably blame her for the rain at this point.
What’s more sad is your constant need to make this whole situation about racists.
Global warming, that’s the racists doing that.
No one on this forum supports racism.
It’s like you are trying to expose racist members?
Having a negative view of someone who is not white does not make you a racist it makes you a realist.

In all honesty, its so easy to say the racists drove her out, but in reality she was a woman in her late 30s who married into a family with rules so far from what she was used to, it was probably too much to think she would adjust to the lifestyle, it must have been a pretty lonely time for her, its not like she could pop down to the local gym or join a club or all the things you are encouraged to do when you move to a new area/country, all her friends if we are to go by those who attended their wedding are across the pond and busy with their own lives, I would imagine the excitement soon wore off and once Archie was born she was even more isolated. Kate Middleton has a strong family to fall back on plus Uni friends etc, it's not quite the same for Meghan
Niamh.

This issue does have a basis in racism, it has played a significant part in the decision to step back. That can't be ignored...
It not 'like' anyone is trying to expose anyone. If there are racist members and I'm not suggesting for one minute there are... they will expose themselves.
Having a negative view of anyone you don't know is not realism it's ignorance, especially if what you do know has been gleaned from dubious slanted newspaper articles.

Just because you haven't watched her show, does not mean she wasn't famous. Very successful it was too for the 8 years it remained on the air. For 7 of those years she was a lead character.

Question, challenge, fight back?
More like ignore, deflect, deny.
'This is a lovely country'... Yes it is, lets keep it lovely and acknowledge there are creeping nationalist values that are undermining the voices that speak out in opposition to racist tropes.
The bojo women look like letter boxes comment is a prime example... that is a racist trope. No 2 ways about it, and that's the PM!!

I don't doubt that racism played some part in Meghan's and Harry's decision but I think its more likely the restrictions of Royal life isn't for them that was the major part of their decision process along with Meghan being a long way from home

...I wish them well.....
I think the situation with Meghan and Harry is much more complicated than is being portrayed by either side of the argument. With Diana, there was no doubt, she was constantly hounded by the press, even after she divorced Charles. Bear in mind that was before social media was a thing, if that had existed then it would have been genuine crazy town.
Meghan and Harry have really had little press intrusion compared to Diana, but they are much more sensitive to it, and for obvious reasons and people are attaching their own agenda's to the couple too, which really doesn't help.
If they can get some privacy now and be able to lead their lives on their own terms then it can only be a good thing. None of us would expect anything less for ourselves and our own family.

It’s a big brother forum we are just chewing the fat before this crap it was Caroline flack that was being discussed.
I don’t actually care one way or another.
My impression wasnt limited to the forum, it was more about the media and the public

They are just another thread topic of conversation.

My takeaway from negative comments about them is that people dont care about them being happy, they are just pissed off they dared to escape their cage.

...Harry said that he was only able to face and address his grief for his mother, when he was 28yrs old...it took him over 20 years to seek counselling...there are so many things that he’s said that are an indication of his unhappiness in his mental health......I think that he has found someone who can support him with what he needs in his life, is a positive and good thing...to have supported him through this incredibly hard decision shows what an amazing person she is and I’m grateful he has such a person in his life...and I’m glad that Archie has a father who is trying to protect him from anything similar...
I think the answer to "Why Now?" that people have decided is "cos of that Meghan!!" is as simple as the bit-in-bold really.
"I've just had a son.
...Do I want him to have the same life and upbringing that I've had?
......No."
It's a brief question that I imagine EVERY new parent asks themselves, and the answer decides whether the emulate their own upbringing or try to do it differently. He doesn't want a repeat of his own childhood, so they're doing something different. Like a LOT of other new parents. Bwitish tabloidy-type people are only bothered because they want to feel like they "own" the Royal Family, I suspect.

Personally I think the press will hound them even more...If they were leaving for a simple life then maybe not...but Meghan will not want a simple life imo...she wants to make money and be in the public eye, she wants fame and fortune with positive press...and she’s hoping to get that in Canada but the British press will always be interested.
Don’t get me wrong I want them to be happy but I think Harry is jumping out of the frying pan into the fire with this move
If you want to live a life without press intervention then you have to live a modest life and I simply cannot see that happening. Whilst all this has been going on in England Meghan has been shown courting press attention by visiting women’s support groups. All well and good..but you would have thought she might let the dust settle first...

...I recall the how the media was toward Diana not long before her death...’Queen Tells Di to Leave’...’Queen Orders Charles To Divorce Di’...(..similar type headlines..)..Harry knows that and he’s also seen that ‘media turn’ against Meghan...how could his head not be drawing parallels in association..?..both he and William have spoken about them stiff upper lips and holding in their emotions ...with Harry..?..to the point of not knowing how to express his emotions at all..but he’s met someone that would have changed all of that, who he was able to express his feelings to...and looking into the eyes of your child is a life changing thing...you want their world to be the best it can be, the very best that is in your power to give..?...and for Harry and Meghan, this is the path they believe will give that...all they can do is what’s in their power to do ...and that’s what they’re doing...

You started by saying you dont care but then you cared enough to post a string of speculations how the evil wife controls your good prince.
Idg what claim you think you have on him unless you're being jealous.
Harry has no constitutional role so it can't be that.
He didn't choose the royal career so it can't be that.
He expressed his unease with it way before she came on the scene so it not her fault either. You do know he said many times he'd like nothing better than working with animals in Botswana?
Now with his wife and baby they gave it a shot but it's not for them. They have enough determination to fight for a change in their circumstances. By precedent they will create a new way for those royals not essential to monarchy to make their way in life. Charles intends to slim down things anyway so that will come in handy.
Of course they will make mistakes. But we should let them go without being petty about it and wish them luck.

comparatively more controlled media coverage of the Royals
The bolded part hasn't been accurate for 30 years :joker:
It is accurate. The media now behave nothing like they did in the Diana years, surely that is obvious. No member of the royal family, and certainly not Harry and Meghan are harrassed and hunted like she was and the press are in no way as scandal - mongering. Stricter guidelines were enforced after the death of Diana.
There are certain protections in place as Royal family members, which the Sussexes will no longer have....
The likes of online media like Twitter etc is a different matter - the chattering masses can be savage to celebs and royals alike, but nobody forces them to read that stuff.
I'd give you the same advice.
At least im not the one trying to make baseless claims he's being manipulated by his wife, poor lamb. That's not reality, that's petty speculation

I agree with all that...and if, as reported, they (er, Meghan) want to eventually live in LA it is going to get worse (for Harry). Unless he's been hankering after the high life with famous celebs and making millions off his royal status all along, but I don't believe that. Meghan however....:suspect:

In always happens in first few years of the royal marriages when the spotlight and interest is at its peak. The press were vicious with Fergie and Kate, and Diana didn't get it easy either. None of them in those first few years deserved it.
Harry and Meghan seem to have gone out of their way to make the press dislike them. I've heard so many reporters say how they loved Harry who they always had a laugh with and he even went to the pub with them on numerous occasions. :hehe:
Now all they get is a scowl and sharp words.
