Ahem .......... that would be me. :xyxwave:

I can assure you that all the necessary paperwork for a Public Entertainments Licence has been completed, and was submitted in advance of the deadline (6th August). Our existing licence will cover us until 24th November, when the new Act comes into force, so we've plenty time for the local authority to process the application.

So we're absolutely hunky dory! :elephant: :dazzler: :elephant:

Thought I might see you in here Sunny! :wavey:

Did you not get that message I took from someone at the council :puzzled:

I left the note by the till, they said the part concerning the entertainment licence had not been completed properly. Apparently a number of premises have made this error. They gave an address to send off for a replacement form for the entertainments licence, but said if we wanted it to marry up with the rest of our application there would be a £50 administrative surcharge.

See there is the note underneath, Sunny's Bar tab !!!! :nono:

(Here's your hotchocolate, sorry there are no marshmallow's tonight the cash & carry were out of stock but said that they would be in tomorrow morning, I will be stopping their first. We would have run out if it weren't for the impromptu party the other night when someone tried to cook a load on a coat hanger over the imitation coal fire, Scooby!!!

Wondered if Borris was for sale

The said that with a bar also having a coffee shop is just like their chain of coffee shops called Coffee Trader (http://www.coffee-trader.co.uk)

I told him that I did not think we would sell and he went away.

(I had a visit to one of that chain this eveing to see what they are like, they must have pinched their idea from Borris Bar. Well imitation is the clearest sign of flattery )

As soon as Borris returned, the bar was sold from under our feet and the new owner, theoretically has the right to do what they saw fit.

Just went past the place, and the work to change Borris Bar to offices does not seem to have started and the Talor Woodrow sign has gone :puzzled:

looks at sign on door

The new owners seem to have gone into administration

Borris is in the hands of the official receivers

Wehay I'm quid's after getting the dosh from the claim I put in on after slipping on a banana skin in lidl's, claims direct really helped so instead of wasting the money on some hi-tech gadget or down the pub I have brought Mr.Woodrow out and the bar can go back to how it was

Sticks
09-01-2006, 07:25 PM
Er Taylor Woodrow was just a contractor hired by the owners.

You did not buy the pub, you just bought into a construction company who have now written the owners off as a bad debt.

Borris is still in the hands of the liquidators. :bored:

Dan_

Luckily I did not sign on the dotted line

I have started talks with the liquidators to take control the bar and clear the debt.

Great news, everyone!

I've been in extensive discussions, with the help of my old mate Reg from the Council, about the proposed take-over of Boris's .......

Seems that the developers were scared off by the threat of adverse publicity that would be caused by a mass protest and sit-in by customers, so they withdrew their offer for the premises.

With Reg's help, I've managed to put together a Business Case on behalf of all TiBB members for a collective takeover bid ....... and it's just been accepted by the Receivers. :hello:

So the premises are now ours, all ours! :colour: :colour: :colour:

I'll just need £500 from each of you now .....................

Only kidding! A most generous benefactor (whose identity I've been sworn to keep secret) has come forward with the cash to buy the premises outright. Their only stipulation is that the business carries on as normal, with all existing staff reinstated.

Any suggestions for a new name for the Bar? I think the KazBar has a good ring to it! :spin: But all suggestions welcome!!! :spin2:

WOO HOO!!!!! We're back in business!!!!! :elephant: :hello:  :hello: :elephant:

I think I did suggest Kazbar a while back, but I may be mistaken.

The coffee appliances should be back by the end of the week. The storage people do not seem to be answering their telephones :puzzled:

BTW I think Kaz is also confusing the sub-contractors with the development company. Officially the subcontractors pulled out because their client went into receivership, unofficially they were alarmed by the adverse publicity but were contractually bound to carry out the work.

The developers had borrowed heavily to finance the purchase and the conversion against theprofit on the future lease of the offices, but due to a collapse of another scheme they had been involved with, the auditors found a wopping great big hole in their finances. If they had not bought Borris Bar, they could have just survived instead of being declared insolvent.

If I can not get hold of that storage facility I will need to pay them a visit

Well now it seems WE need a place,
Where anyone can show their face,
For ‘winding down’ and ‘chilling out’,
For chatting and a jovial shout,
To tell their troubles,
Share some fun,
When trials of the day are done.

So welcome to the new ‘BB’,
Where I hope you’ll all be pleased to see,
Friend BORIS standing by the pump,
Your host, your barman…that made you jump !

So take a glass of wine with me,
A sip of cider, sup of beer;
Gin or whiskey, make you frisky,
A drop of rum to warm your tum.

Or Adam’s ale if you prefer,
Martini that you shake not stir,
Juice of apple, orange, grape,
All will help you keep in shape.

The ‘Kiss of Death’ has gone at last,
To ‘Boris’s Bar’ you all must pass.
I’d thought to call it ‘Sailors Rest’,
But the ‘Barmy Army’ though it best,
To NOT exclude them from the fun,
For they’ve been loyal troops each one.

So now to meet at Boris’s bar,
However you travel however far,
We’ll meet up here come rain , come shine,
And have ourselves a…
RIGHT GOOD TIME !

Cheers one and all .
See you here tomorrow !

Switches of BBC News 24

I did not think that probe would go up

BTW, it looks like the coffee shop is finished. The storage facility where the coffee equipment was kept has gone into liquidation. The liquidators have seized all the items that were in storage, including the coffee stuff and the outside tables and chairs. Aparently, they are all to be sold off at auction to pay the preferential creditors. Those of us who had stuff in storage have to get to the back of the queue with the other ordinary creditors.

I did not know thay could do this with our property

I heard that a museum in Europe put an art treasure in storage, and when they came to get it, the company had also been dissolved and the art work had gone.

So Borris is back, but the bitter sweet moment is that it looks like the coffee shop is now no more, due to the loss of the coffee equipment which has been seized by the liquidators of the storage facility we were using. (along with the tables and chairs we used for the summer months)

I hear Kaz is just going to take the hit and get new ones, but there is no capital left to re-equp the coffee shop. All we can scrape up is a second hand kettle and a jar of Liddel own brand coffee (yeuck) :bored:

BTW Well done NASA for finally getting New Horizons on its way. :hello::dance::elephant::colour:

All I could afford was a kettle and a jar of Own label instant, so the coffee shop was wiped out.
