The end flash of Jack and kate is infact the present -
The whole part of LOST we have watched has been the past. it is af if they are telling us about what happened on the island.

So it is obvious they got rescued and we'll see that...
then it will be how those jack flashes are.

they wernt flash forwards..... they are off the island and that is the present

The date on the newspaper Jack had was April 7th 2007 so maybe. The events of the island are supposed to be 2004, though that was the year when Lost started so the dates were 'current' then.

Season four will involve the 'new threat' from Naomi's people though, I think.

It's supposed to be present day, everything on the island is set in 2004, Jack's off Island events are our present day, the writers recentley confirmed it in an interview.

Also it's looking more and more likely Michael will be back for season 4 seeing how Harold was offered his place back as a Series regular and the writers said the story line is calling for him so it's just a case of whether he wants to come back. Which makes me believe he's the one in the coffin. Because Jack didn't like, that's why he said he wasn't friend of family, Kate wouldn't go to his funeral, and he knew a way back to the island (as he left it) that's why Jack was sad when he died, he was Jacks last chance back.

I realised recently that it has never been said that all the seasons will be on the island, so maybe they will get off the island and we will see them getting back into their lives etc, then realising they have to get back to the island and their individual journeys meeting finding each other on the way etc.

Red and I are massive Lost fans, but with things being so difficult this year we decided to wait until all of series 3 was released on DVD.... well I just spent a whole week watching all 23 episodes.... Reds behind slightly, but OMG!

Wow.... the ending was bitter sweet, Charlie drowning, Penny contacting the island...wow

I loved that fact that one of my fav characters saved the day - Hugo and his campervan

So does obviously, Naomi crew arent all what they seem, so was Ben right in warning Jack not to make contact?

Will the island still be in two divides? With Bens group and the beach group.

Where does this leave Lock?

I only watched the second series? So I missed the first and anything after the second.

So I figure i'll wait a long time until Lost has officially finished, then buy the boxset of all the series [which will most likely cost quite a lot.] then watch them all then =]

As I really enjoyed it, but never seem to know when it's on and where.

Anyway to clear up some of the questions about Lost in this thread. Season 4 will still be on the island and it will include both flashbacks and flash-forwards.

Where we saw Kate and Jack at the end of Season 3 was in 2007 (present time).

The writers have confirmed that there is a whole other chapter that takes place off the island.

Trailers for the upcoming fourth season of Lost will be aired in American cinemas, according to reports.

E! Online states that broadcaster ABC will air promotional teasers, containing new footage, in selected cinema chains throughout December. They will only be shown before films with a PG rating.

This marketing tactic for cult shows has also been deployed in the UK, most notably with a cinema campaign prior to the launch of Torchwood's first season in late 2006.

The fourth season of Lost is currently scheduled to air in February 2008, with filming on eight episodes completed so far.

The best place to download is from torrents, specifically a user called 'eztv', you never get viruses from them and the shows are always great quality.

It's confirmed Lost will be back at a new time of 9pm on Thursdays starting January 31st. ABC will only be airing the first 8 episodes that were written before the writers strike.

Okay Losties, here's what "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof has to say about the move to Thursday night: It's a boost for the mysterious castaways because it guarantees that they will not have to face off against the "American Idol" machine and it also protects them from going head-to-head with original episodes of "CSI" as long as the strike continues.

"I think it's awesome," Lindelof said. "If they had told us last year we were going to get the 'Grey's Anatomy' time slot, I would have been thrilled, especially since there's no new 'CSI' to go against," he said. "But the time slot is completely colored by the fact that we're still engaged in this writers strike. It's bad for the entire town. The only show you don't want to be up against in January is 'American Idol,' and there were very few time slots that would afford us to not compete with 'Idol.' It's great to not be up against 'Idol' but [it's a shame] that we're not up against 'Idol' because there's a writers strike."

"Lost" performs better in the ratings when the networks air episodes without interruption in the scheduling. Lindelof and Executive Producer Carlton Cuse designed the new season as a 16-episode arc and were hoping the strike would be resolved in time for ABC to be able to air the season without
interruption. But with the end of the strike increasingly uncertain, Lindelof said Friday that ABC felt it had no choice but to go ahead.

"What I would not want to do is hold these episodes of 'Lost' indefinitely," he said. "I feel like the fans haven't seen any 'Lost' since the end of May, and I completely understand the network's decision
to air these eight episodes. We certainly designed our season as 16 straight and this is not ideal by any stretch of the imagination. But we can't go on strike in one breath and then complain about the fact that the series isn't airing the way we want it to in the other. I believe in the strike and why we're on strike, so that supersedes what my preference is for the ideal way for the show to end."

Because of complaints from fans last year that the show poses more questions than it answers, the writers learned to wrap up their seasons more conclusively, Cuse said. To that end, they designed the first half of the fourth season as set-up and the second as pay-off.

“The audience just needs to be warned,” Cuse said. “There’s a very cool cliffhanger at the end of the eighth episode. But most of the major questions were designed to get answered at the second half of the season. The whole idea that we’re actually looking forward as well as looking back is something we’re very excited about as storytellers. But there is a fear that if the strike continues and we’re not able to complete the season, that people might feel a little frustrated because those eight episodes aren’t conclusive.”

Has anyone been watching the Missing Pieces mobisodes? They are mainly set during S2 (thought the latest is S1 :wink: ) and have original scenes involving the main cast members.

The early ones didn't reveal much but some of the recent ones are okay, and they fill the empty space until the new series starts.

theres 16 episodes in season4 but because of the strike there was only 8 made before the strike and due to that there was only going to be 8 episodes but now the strike is over theyl be able to make 13 episodes without taking a break instead of 8

I agree, I think the producers get 'lost' last series because too many questions have been asked and few had an answer.
Now a lot of things are clearer and are much more interesting.

before the writers strike only 8 pisodes where filmed.episode 9 aired in America last Thursday.but now that the strike has finished there filming episodes 9-13 episode 9 will air in America on April the 24th a month from yestersday:bawling:

Yeah I wasn't actually too sure who was going to be in the coffin, it was kind of surprising but also not. Still, Christian Shephard was "dead" and look how that's apparently turned out :tongue:.

I thought they wouldn't be able to pull off a great finale for this season -but they really did! It was full on amazing. Everything! They way the flashforwards linked together.... and everything was great! And some amazing acting.

i must admit i was pretty shocked it was locke thats dead. Now we just have to wait to find out how he died, how he got off the island, where the island is, if sawyer and juliett are alive etccc.... oooh theres so many answers to come..

i'm mainly scared about how they;re planning on ending the whole thing. its got to be mind blowing stuff\!
