Yeah the smoke monster appeared to Jack as his dad, Eko as his brother, ect... the dead people Hurley sees are real though.

And I doubt Desmond will be dead, he's a big fan favourite so I don't think they'd kill him off screen.

I liked the kick arse Claire at first but she's sort of getting annoying now. And yeah, didn't really think Sayid would do it, especially when he started talking to him. I like the way they've done the flashbacks as well, made some interesting storylines out of it.

Jimmy Kimmel has revealed that the series finale of Lost has been extended.

Speaking on his show after an interview with Jorge Garcia, who plays Hurley in the show, the host explained that the episode will now run for two and a half hours.

"[It's] a special two-and-a-half hour finale of the show," he told the audience. "That's a big announcement."

The news means that the finale will now air on May 23 from 9pm-11.30pm on ABC in the US.

The network has already announced that the episode will be followed by a Jimmy Kimmel special attended by the cast.

ABC will also broadcast the Lost pilot the night before the finale.

That’s an excellent point. I can tell you that we received [new script] pages as we were shooting the episode that added a scene in the bear cages where Jin asks what happened to Ji Yeon. And you hear Jin asking Sun who’s taking care of the girl. And so that was deliberately put in there so that he would know that she wasn’t completely an orphan. Also, in the sub, there’s a moment that’s not scripted where I looked away from Sun toward the door and I wondered, “Should I go?” That was my moment for Ji Yeon. I thought to myself, “Can I do this?” But the decision I made at that point was that even if I tried to leave I wouldn’t have made it, because I had no oxygen and the submarine was so far under water. All I can say is that I’m sure Damon and Carlton took the concern of Ji Yeon to heart when they wrote the episode.

...but sometime deaths of characters in Lost feel a little cheap (especially in this case killing off so many characters at once). Daniel last season was another example. I think in this episode they should have edited it so the Locke / Jack hospital scene was shown before the final submarine scene. They should have gone from that straight to the beach scene.

Sayid has been dead before, so you never know. He could do another Mikhail. :s

I doubt Lapidus is dead, as he wasn't shown dying on camera, and in this show it usually means a character is still alive.

my theory for how it will end

Desmond is the new Jacob, he will be hidden and Jack will be the new Richard, the one who never grows old and is Desmonds messenger. A new plane will crash and the cycle will begin all over again, with the smoke monster trying to tempt and corrupt the new candidates into being evil without interfering with their free will.

- The Kwon on the cave's wall, surely must be Jin as Henderson can also be seen on the wall, which is Rose's maiden name. So if Sun was on that wall it would be her maiden name too? Also, maybe it's their daughter?

- I seriously think that Desmond is the new Richard. and also, just realised how Sayid made a deal with MiB to get his dead wife back. Just as Richard had done with Jacob. I think both Jacob and MiB are bad and that Widmore is the good guy.

Perhaps he gets the use of the Smoke Monster, while Jacob gets to leave the island to touch candidates and what not, each have an unique advantage in their game.

Some spoilers from the episode

The smoke monster reveal was really great and is better than anything I was expecting (I really thought that it had just always been there, and that no one would know what it was). Frozen wheel explanation was really good too... And the 'light' is really interesting. Back in Season 1 Locke told Jack that when he looked into the smoke monster what he saw was "beautiful", and he also told Eko that he saw "a beautiful bright light" when he looked into the smoke monster.. so that says that Locke in a way saw the specialness of the Island + also hints at them already having that idea about having the light tunnel back in season 1 :)

His spirit I guess because Jacob took his body to the caves. And we've saw him take peoples spirits before and not bodies (Yemi, Locke ect..). And he's been scared or worried all the way through this season whenever he saw young Jacob in the jungle..

I have to say I disagree with a lot of the praise given this episode. I think it would have worked better as the season opener. I mean it was dressed up as an episode full of anwsers but the only answer we got was who Adam and Eve were and also how the smoke monster was created. We still don't even know for sure what it is, it could be Smokey taking MiB's body like he took Locke's or it could be that Smokey is MiB. It's impossible to know and also there's questions like where their fake mother came from, was she a smoke monster, ect.

The Story of Cain and Abel

Sometimes when we read the Bible, we wonder why God cared about some of the things He cared about. The story of Cain and Abel is one of those stories for some people.

A long time ago, just after Adam and Eve had to leave the garden of Eden, they were very sad about disobeying God. They asked God how they could show Him how sorry they were. God told them that they could show Him how they felt by sacrificing a lamb, which they did.

After awhile, Adam and Eve had two sons. Their first son was called Cain and their second was called Abel.

Cain was a farmer. He grew vegetables and grains. Abel was a shepherd who looked after the family's herds. Cain and Abel were like most siblings -- they didn't always get along. But they were brothers and loved each other very much, despite their occasional fights.

Adam and Eve (their mom and dad) told Cain and Abel about the message God gave them that they should sacrifice a lamb to God to show how much they appreciated all He'd done and how sorry they were for their sins.

Abel was very concerned that his sacrifice be special to God. He chose his first and best lamb and offered it to the Lord. It was hard for Abel to give up his most prized possession, but it was important to him to try his best to do as God had asked.

Cain thought his little brother was a bit silly for giving up his best lamb. "Good grief," he thought. "We need that lamb, God doesn't. I'm sure He'd be just as happy if we sacrificed the runt of the litter. In fact, why does it need to be a lamb at all? I'm a farmer and it's been a great year for my wheat crop -- I can't use everything I've grown. Why don't I just burn some of the extra straw I have. That way, I won't be wasting any."

Cain's reasoning sounds pretty good when you first hear it, doesn't it?

Cain watched as the lamb burnt up completely on the altar, while his left over straw just smoldered a bit and never really caught fire at all.

That could mean only one thing! God preferred Abel.

Lost star Henry Ian Cusick signs onto Law & Order

It looks like we will be seeing Desmond Hume in another life after all. TV Guide reports that Lost actor Henry Ian Cusick has signed on for at least two episodes of Law & Order: SVU. According to SVU producer Neal Baer, Cusick will be playing graphic artist Erik Weber, and will engage in some “flirtation” with Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay). As The Island’s ultimate romantic, this makes total sense…but what about Penny?!

I’m happy that one of my favorite Losties has gotten another high-profile gig now that the show is over, and making a stop at the Law & Order set almost seems like a rite of passage in Hollywood these days. But after portraying such a widely beloved character on Lost, this news begs the question: Will Cusick be — gasp! — playing the bad guy? (Not the first time we would have seen it — Ian Somerhalder played one creepy SVU baddie pre-Lost back in 2003.)
