Waiting until next month before I buy the complete collection, the blu-ray box will have more than the one that got released last week.
I haven't watched any episodes since about a week after the show ended, so can't wait to rewatch it :)

Yeah, I want to watch it all again from the very beginning. I think I'll notice loads of small details that I didn't see the first time round..
To be honest, it's so long ago since it started that's there's loads I can't remember!

Loved seasons 1-3, had a great balance of mystery, drama, humour, character studies etc. Season 4 I didn't enjoy at the time but liked it better on rewatch. Season 5 had something missing and then Season 6 ruined the entire show.
The final episode may have given us "nice" and tidy endings for the characters after their death and cleared up the who loves who stories (the worst part of the show) but it mocked the great stories they set up in season 1. It was obvious that the island was always meant to be purgatory and the "survivors" had died in the plane crash.
Most people had guessed this ending after episode 1 so thye had to throw in a bunch of randomnesss but in the end they returned to their original idea. Only instead of the island being purgatory it was these weird flashes. Which then rendered all of the stupid bomb storyline pointless thus meaning Juliet died for no reason.
Characters like Sayid, Locke, Desmond and Jack were ruined. I mean, after watching season 1, who thought it would all come down to Jack having to put a rock in the ground to fill a hole in. It was pathetic and made me feel embarrassed that I'd watched the show for 5 years.
I love the show (especially 1-3) but season 6 was crap, boring and an anticlimax. I think Through the Looking Glass is the last episode for me.

Yeah, I saw Martin in something else recently (can't remember what). He has a good face for playing cruel roles I think! (I'm sure he's very pleasant in real life)

Story-wise I think the show gets a lot better after Season 3, character-wise then fair enough yeah I think the characters are developed better in the earlier seasons.
Season 6 is by far the best though.

I preferred the creepy mysteries as opposed to the gimmicky "let's keep the show going as long as possible" mysteries.
Like the hatch, the whispers, ghosts, Dharma etc rather than the in your face time flashes and vanishing island.
I don't know how people can call season 6 the best IMO. Apart from maybe one or two moments in the last episode I can't think of anything of interest that happened in the last season.
Seasons 1-5 had storylines running through with different characters.
Season 6 pissed me off because every week it was just splitting off into different groups and visiting island landmarks with no story.
Example, Richard, Jack and Hurley go to the Black Rock as Kate, Miles etc are at the temple. The week after Hurley and Jack went to the Lighthouse whilst Richard and some other people went to the barracks. And also they travelled from one end of the island to the other in 10 seconds flat which was ridiculous.
Now suddenly there's a lighthouse, temple, weird river with a light, lots of wells etc that they never saw before in the years that some of them spent on the island.
It was obvious the writers struggled to come up with something at the end to tie up all the inconsistencies.
And as far as ruining the mystery of some characters well Charles Widmore was pointless in the end and the mystery of what happened to Clare turned out to be she'd been sat in the jungle getting a really bad hair-do.

I have been watching LOST over the past month, possibly past couple of months for the first time. I watched the finale last night. Needless to say, I feel weird today because I am use to watching an episode of LOST everyday. I really loved watching the show, and I'd say Season 1, 5 and 6 were my favourite seasons. I wish I had of slowed down watching it, but eh. I am kinda glad I watched it now rather than as it aired, I don't think I remember it airing when I was 8/9, but my mum said she watched some of the first season...
Anyway, I tried hard to stay away from such threads/forums of spoilers, it feels kind of good to be able to look at them properly now. xD.

Watched my first episode in months last night on Sky 1.. Think I'll start a rewatch sometime today. Just looking at what the cast members have done since/have coming up:
Terry O'Quinn (Locke) - Done some TV movie, is making a show with Michael Emerson (Ben) but that won't be out until 2012, and is also making another show called Hallelujah, which has got that fit girl in from American Pie Band Camp.
Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond) - Starred in 2 episodes of Law & Order, and will be one of the leading stars in an upcoming TV show on ABC called Damage Control, due out some time this year. (show actually sounds quite good).
Jorge Garcia (Hurley) - Appeared in a few episodes of different shows (How I Met Your Mother, Mr Sunshine, Fringe), has a TV movie coming up (Alcatraz), and will also be in two movies released late this year/next year (When We Were Pirates + Maktub). The band Weezer released an album called Hurley and used him as the front cover aswell :joker:
Naveen Andrews (Sayid) - Nothing.
Matthew Fox (Jack) - He has said he hates acting in movies and won't commit to another TV show again, so had done some work over here in the west end. Has a movie coming out next year called "I, Alex Cross", though.
Josh Holloway (Sawyer) - Will be one of the leading stars in the new Mission Impossible that comes out some time this year. He was in an episode of Community, too.
Danielle Dae Kim (Jin) - He is one of the stars of Hawaii Five-O, which has been really popular in America and is one of the only successful TV shows to come out in the last couple of years. Has a leading role in a film coming out later this year called The Killing game, which has also got Samuel L Jackson and that fit girl from Vampire Diaries in it.
Yunjin Kim (Sun) - Starred in a foreign movie called Heartbeat that came out late last year, and has another film called Unconditional which is coming out some time this year.
Evangeline Lilly (Kate) - She said when Lost was on that she was going to quit acting (Lost was her first proper role), but she has made a movie with Hugh Jackman and Kevin Durand (Keamy) that is called Real Steal which is coming out in October. She is the new face of Loreal aswell.
Emilie De Ravin (Claire) - Nothing since Lost ended but she made a few successful movies that came out around the same time Lost finished.
Michael Emerson (Ben) - Will be making the show with Terry O'Quinn next year. Starred in a TV documentary, made a TV movie called God in America, starred in an episode of Parenthood, and will have one of the leading roles in an upcoming series called Person of Interest.
Ken Leung (Miles) - Starred in an episode of The Good Wife, and will be in a TV Movie called Big Mike which comes out sometime this year.
Nestor Carbonell (Richard) - Starred in 2 episodes of Psych, an episode of "The Penguins of Madagascar", has a film coming out later this year called Cristiada (which stars Eva Longoria, Peter O'Toole, and Andy Garcia). Will also have a minor role in an upcoming film about Noah's Ark, and will be one of the leading stars of a TV show called Ringer (with Sarah Michelle Gellar) that comes out sometime this year.
Jeff Fahey (Lapidus) - Has appeared in loads of movies, cba typing them all out.

gonna add to your list:
Maggie Grace (Shannon): played Liam Neesons daughter who was kidnapped in the succesfull movie Taken, she was also in the movie Malice in Wonderland and was recently cast in the upcoming Twilight movie!
Ian Somerhalder (Boone): has a starring role in the vampire diaries.

I heard "Odd Jobs" or whatever it was called had been completely scrapped? They must have just pushed it back a season.
I've just recently gotten into watching V again on syfy. Elizabeth Mitchell's (Juliet) in it, which I saw missing from your list.
As far as re-watch goes I think I'll wait a good few years first I think, give me a chance to forget the details in each episode.
But although I loved everything about seasons 1-4, couple of problems in season 5 I really did not like season 6. The story, the characters, the plot twists, the contrivances; I found it all awful and not up to the standard of what had come before.

I loved the whole story with Jacob and the Man in Black, and I was always more interested in the actual plot rather than the characters (thought a lot of the main characters were pushed aside for the Jacob/MiB storyline in season 6, so I wasn't too bothered about that).
I just started rewatching the other day from Season 1 though, so might change my mind.

I think people were harsh on Michael after what happened to Ana Lucia on Libby but it was far from an accident. He may have regretted it after, but he knew what he was dong, he's the one who pulled the trigger on Libby so he wouldn't be caught out.
And Ana Lucia shot Shannon by mistake. I remember the first "tailies" flashback episode showed how they were constantly in fear of their lives, so her firing a gun at an unknown lurker in the jungle was understandable.

Most people would have done what Michael done.. The main reason I disliked him at the time (I ended up liking him again before the show ended) was because of the constant talk about Walt toward the end of season 2.. the amount of times he said "my boy" was driving me insane

Agreed. Hated his appearances in season 4 and 6 though. It screamed of "fan service" and just done for the heck of it. Like they had all the cameos for almost every character that had a speaking part on the show in the final season.

Boone was good there just wasn't that much his character would be much use for in the long run, him dying and setting up the Jack-Locke rivalry ended up being one of the most important things in the show though

Not sure - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1712170/
Yes it is.. MF isn't actually playing Alex Cross though...thankfully. He's black
Lee Child's character Jack Reacher is also being made into a film soon and anybody who has read the books will know that he's a brute of a guy! He'ssupposed to be an ex military cop and massive in every way.I always said that the guy who killed Ben's daughter in Lost would have been perfect for the role(can't remember his name)
However, guess who they've cast??
.....bloody Tom Cruise!! Can't belive it!

I'll have to watch these videos tonight
I really miss Lost being on TV... I'm happy(ish) with the way it ended and I think it had slightly outstayed its welcome on TV, but I miss being so fascinated by a show and speculating what will happen in the next series and analysing all the little details in individual episodes... I've not gotten into a single new TV series since Lost ended. :(

I kind of agree but I think had Adewale not quit, Eko could have become a really great character. He spent ages being silent and then he had his religious experiences; I think he could have been amazing in some of the later storylines that emerged and I like to think he and Jack would have clashed over time (man of science vs man of faith trope)

I loved watching the first two season's of Lost. I only really watched the rest out of habit, and getting into the plot without knowing what was going to happen in the end seemed pointless.
A lot of my favourite characters died early (Boone, Shannon, Ana-Lucia). But to be completely honest the first season of the show was some of the best television I have ever watched. I would definitely re-watch it some time in the future.

They were put under pressure from the network to keep filling it out and extend it as much as they could and it pretty much watered it down and in the end ruined it.
Imagine if they had stuck to the original plan of two series it would have been so intense and amazing it would have gone down as as a classic of all time but the payday was too much to resist for the writers :(

Yeah, I agree with that. I did enjoy it and stuck it out to the end, but they filled it so much that it got a bit ridiculous and the ending was just a stupider version of what they were originally going to do imo

I don't know about the 2 season thing, but they were pushing for an end date during Season 3 and wanted a fifth season to be the last, the network wanted 7, and they ended up coming to 6 as a compromise.

So many of the deaths were really frustrating. Libby's annoyed me for a good while because they killed her off and didn't once look at her back story really, and despite what they said they clearly got rid of her and Ana Lucia because of Michelle and Cynthia's DUIs.
The character death that annoyed me most was Juliet's though. It was an emotional one, obviously, and obviously writers enjoy doing things like this, but of all of the people on the island she was the one person I was rooting for to actually get home at long last... and just as it looked like she might, they took it away from her for one final time. But the thing that bothered me the most about it was how she then appeared in the first episode of Season 6 before they actually killed her off; it took all the emotional punch out of the end of Season 5.
The actual ending itself was, despite its flaws, a nice way to wrap things up. They did their best to get as much of the old cast back on the show which I appreciated. Some parts were too contrived to get behind (Shannon and Sayid??? Really??? He spent almost all of his time on the show before and after Shannon's death moping about Nadia for the love of God) but for the most part it was a beautiful end to a fascinating story and even though the show dragged on a bit too long, the writing was incredible and so much effort went into the smallest details in Lost, it was a pleasure to watch it from start to finish as it aired. I remember watching the first episodes as they were broadcast in the UK at a sleepover at my friend's house and I watched the last episode in my student halls by myself. So many memories from my teenage years are attached to Lost.

I just finished season 6 of Lost recently. Season 3 was my favourite by far and I pretty much liked all the characters (bar Ben). The ending wasn't near as bad as everyone made out and I thought it summed up all 6 seasons up pretty good. If I had to recommend it to a friend though, I wouldn't. I wouldn't put them through necessary questioning and wondering about why this happened or who is this guy. A good tv show nonetheless, probably one of the best ever made.

Yeah he was annoying throughout but I feel like he'd turned a corner as a character at the time of his death but I guess that was always the intention for the writers.

I remember feeling really disenchanted with season 4 as it was airing.
However, as I rewatched it before season 5 started I enjoyed it immensely. I think that season really works with a binge watch because really, more than any other season, it works like one really long movie as opposed to individual episodes aired weeks apart.
Then season 5 I wasn't keen on all of the flashes about and stuff but enjoyed the first half more than the second which started to bore and meander. It was strange there was still interesting characters/plotlines within the show for them to follow, but they still seemed to be stalling.
Given that post-midseason 3 was the point they knew how many episodes they had left to tell their story I felt a hell of a lot more crap in seasons 4-6 felt like filler than anything in 1-3.
It was like having an end date meant they knew they didn't have to stretch it out, but it also stopped them fleshing out a lot of the episodes with much depth or character exploration. Not entirely, but at certain points where they were clearly lagging behind to fulfil an episode count.
Season 6, ugh, from the very first frame I pretty much hated it.

Season 3 is probably the best all things considered. Character development still at a high, getting a look into who The Others are, finding out a lot more information about Dharma, first time we find out about Jacob, important characters like Desmond and Ben becoming part of the main cast and having centric episodes, has two of the most iconic moments in TV history "we have to go back" revealing we'd been watching a flashforward for the first time, "Not Penny's Boat", etc.

A little more news on a possible revival.
It’s only a matter of time before ABC declares, “We have to go back!” and commissions a Lost revival. I know it. You know it. And Damon Lindelof knows it.
“I’ve thought about it a lot,” Lindelof, who co-created the seminal mystery thriller, admitted to me over the weekend when he dropped by TVLine’s Comic-Con interview suite (watch video, above), adding that he’s both “curious” and “excited” about the possibility of the franchise spawning a second series. “[I] hope that when that happens, whoever is doing it, doesn’t take the characters from the original Lost and put them in the new one. Because we worked so hard to end that show and to give [the survivors] some level of closure. I know there was some debate as to whether or not there was enough closure…”
However, should a fearless new writer set out to create “their version of Lost” using “the mythology of the island,” Lindelof confessed he would be “pretty interested” in such a project. “It would be really exciting if there’s another incarnation of Lost, I just won’t have any association with it. Not because I’m too good for it. I just feel like, again, we worked so hard to end our story, that to come back and say, ‘Well, that wasn’t the real ending,’ would be frustrating.”

Lost will always be one of my all time favourite shows but I've become less forgiving of its flaws as time has passed. In hindsight, so much was thrown into the mix without much of a plan for it all.
So many characters entered the story, were built up to be important in some way then tossed aside and forgotten without being explained. And Damon and Carlton still refuse to answer who was in the other outrigger which is unforgiveable :idc:
But it will always be the show that I feel most nostalgic about purely due to how obsessed I used to be.

I think had I watched it over the 4/5 years it aired I'd probably be more disappointed. But watching it over a couple of months, it was quite satisfying?

I watched all the seasons at the beginning of this year (got the complete Blu-ray set for £20) and enjoyed 99% of it. I thought the ending in particular was really strong (which seems to be an unpopular opinion?).
I wonder if a spin-off will ever happen, the DHARMA initiative always seemed an obvious avenue to explore.
Fantastic ending.
I think it's inevitable that a spin off of some kind will happen at some point given the returns of other shows that were big (although not as big as Lost) around the same time, Prison Break, 24, Heroes, etc, and of course Twin Peaks and X Files from a few years earlier. Seems to be the new thing. Not sure if it would be the right thing to do though.

Hopefully whomever is in charge will remember the shows mythology.

I can see Twin Peaks revival at some point. Trying to coax the original cast members back.
But I think unless it was the original writers they wouldn't return?
It would have to be new stories and characters within the world of Lost.
With maybe an appearance from Hurley who lives on the island? Does he? I actually can't remember now. Hmmm. Time for a rewatch?

Didn't Jack become the smoke monster at the end, or did I confuse that?

He went into the cave to put the cork back in and turn the light back on (yeah I get why people thought this was stupid now) but no I don't think he turned into a new Smokey, he just died

Well I haven't watched it since it ended. :oh:
In fact although I re watched it loads as it was airing so still know most of it pretty well, season 6 is the only one I only watched the once as it aired. Does it improve on further viewings or continue to meander and disappoint?

As metaphors they worked well. But turning it into a literal cork is :umm2:
It's why some of the pretentiousness especially from Damon Lindelof in regards to this series annoys me so much. He just won't hold his hands up.

I always liked it well enough despite finding it to be the weakest overall season and the whole "magic light thing!" endgame to be weird and hokey but Ab Aeterno and The Candidate remain standout episodes of the show.

Honestly I loved the concept of getting the perspective of the first two seasons from the pov of some of the survivors not involved in the main action. And the reveal of them being murderers instantly made them more interesting too.
Way more interesting than Charlie ever was :idc:

I adored the format of the episode too, with the murder mystery element. Quite inspired.
