Gail tells Tracey, that to try and stop joe baking a really bad pie, she hid the rolling pin from him, ontop of the cupboards.
Then tracey tells the detectives, that the rolling pin is what she used to batter him with, and thats why she hid it ontop if the cupboard

Coronation Street's Tina McIntyre and Rosie Webster will both fall for the charms of Weatherfield favourite Graeme Proctor in a forthcoming storyline, it has been revealed.

According to reports, Graeme will face a dilemma when Rosie (Helen Flanagan) finally agrees to go for a drink with him just as he is starting to grow close to Tina (Michelle Keegan).

Last month, it was revealed that Graeme - played by Craig Gazey - is to support Tina after she stops eating due to her grief for late dad Joe.

It has now emerged that fans will see Graeme agreeing to go out with Rosie before later standing her up because he feels Tina needs him more.

In subsequent scenes, he roughs himself up and smears ketchup on his face in order to convince Rosie that he missed their date because he was mugged.

However, the Daily Star reports that Rosie is not fooled and warns: "No-one ever stands me up and gets a second chance. Now do me one last favour. Go as far away as possible and just roll up and die."

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Tina is to get a new love interest and that the new relationship "won't be like any she's had before".

ITV's Coronation Street has been named as Ireland's 'Favourite Soap' at the TV Now awards in Dublin.

The Weatherfield serial secured the gong after beating off competition from EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, as well as local dramas Fair City and Ros na Rún.

In a strong showing for the long-running programme, Coronation Street also picked up two further prizes as Katherine Kelly (Becky McDonald) walked home with the 'Favourite Female Soap Star' award and Bill Roache (Ken Barlow) was given the 'Soap Legend' title.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale's Dingle clan won the 'Favourite Soap Family' prize and Fair City's Tony Tormey (Paul Brennan) took the 'Favourite Male Soap Star' trophy.

Along with Kelly and Roache, stars in attendance included Kym Marsh, Michelle Keegan, Beverley Callard, Louis Walsh and Michelle Heaton.

The TV Now awards are screened tonight at 8pm on TV3

Coronation Street's Audrey Roberts is to plot a permanent move to Greece in a new Shirley Valentine-style storyline, it has been revealed.

According to reports, the smitten salon owner decides to quit Weatherfield later this year in favour of a new life abroad with lover Lewis Archer (Nigel Havers).

It is thought that the couple put in an offer for a hotel on the Greek island Alonissos and are overjoyed when it is accepted. Following the good news, Audrey is expected to start making plans to sell her hairdressing business.

Although her grandson David (Jack P. Shepherd) offers to take over as the salon's manager and send her a slice of his profits, Audrey remains determined to sell up, telling him: "I don't want any ties."

The Mirror reports that fans will be left to wonder whether Audrey - played by Sue Nicholls - really will go ahead with her plans to quit the UK for good.

A show spokesperson teased: "With her daughter Gail facing life in jail, it can't be denied Audrey would want to bid farewell to the Street."

Shirley Valentine is a play composed by Willy Russell telling the story of a bored housewife who falls in love with life in Greece while on holiday there. It was later adapted into a 1989 film starring Pauline Collins.

She shares her name with one of the world's most famous actresses.

And Coronation Street bosses hope that when Grace Kelly joins the cast she will quickly make her mark as one of the Weather field "royalty".

Budding actress Grace, 20, is the reallife sister of Katherine Kelly, 30, who plays barm aid Becky McDonald. She turns up on the show's famous cobbles when Becky finds her long-lost sister. A insider said: "Bosses have wanted to add to Becky's family for a while and Grace was the perfect choice as her sister. Not only does she look like Katherine but she is a very talented actress too."

Grace has had a minor part in daytime soap Doctors. The source said: "This will be Grace's first major role but if she's anything like Kate, she will have a fantastic career ahead of her."

Last night a Corrie spokesman said Grace was one of several people in line for the role.

Coronation Street's Deirdre Barlow will once again cheat on partner Ken when she shares a kiss with male escort Lewis Archer, according to a report.

According to The Sun, Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) will be caught embracing Lewis (Nigel Havers) in the bookies on CCTV.

Watching the footage back, her stepson Peter (Chris Gascoyne) if furious at her betrayal and decides to show his father Ken (William Roache).

A source told the newspaper: "Ken is disgusted. He can't believe his eyes and erupts into absolute fury. But Audrey is just as heartbroken. She had planned a whole future with Lewis."

Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas has signed a new contract which will keep him in the soap for another year, according to a report.

The 25-year-old recently finalised the deal before jetting off for a holiday in Marbella, the Daily Star claims.

It is thought that Corrie's new producer Phil Collinson has promised an exciting future for Thomas's character Jason Grimshaw, who has been part of the show since 2000.

A source said: "Phil's decided that Ryan is part of his long-term plan for the Street. He's going to get some dynamic storylines over the coming months that will have viewers glued to their seats.

"Obviously Ryan's over the moon because he loves working on Corrie and is excited that Phil has some big storylines in the pipeline for him."

However, Thomas is said to have also received a warning to behave himself following his recent fine for leaving the scene of a car crash.

The insider commented: "Phil's told him he needs to keep out of trouble. No slip-ups will be tolerated."

Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly has predicted that her character's current adoption storyline will not have a happy ending.

Earlier this year, the actress's alter ego Becky McDonald and husband Steve (Simon Gregson) decided that they wanted to adopt a child following Becky's two miscarriages.

However, speaking to RTE, Kelly warned: "With regards to the adoption, I don't know for definite but I've got a feeling that that's not going to work out, because things just don't work out for Becky. I would be surprised if that is all plain sailing."

The 30-year-old also cast doubt on whether having a child would match the expectations of her troubled character, who has been part of the Weatherfield soap since 2006.

She commented: "I think Becky just wants to be happy. She's not an ambitious person, but her dream is just to be happy, and she's married Steve and she's happy, but there's still that hole and I think this baby is her trying to fill this hole, and actually I think if she did get a baby she still wouldn't have the hole filled, because it's about being happy with yourself.

"And I think deep down she's not really. She's a very disturbed person. She just needs a bit of therapy really, I think, to truly be happy because Roy and Hayley have taken it as far as they possibly can."

Coronation Street's Tyrone Dobbs will honour Jack Duckworth by naming his new son after him.

Bosses have now cast a set of twins to play Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Molly's (Vicky Binns) first child, who is due to be born in September, reports The Sun.

"Twins are often used, so if one baby is having an off day the other can step in. It halves the workload and stresses," an insider said.

Tyrone remains in the dark about wife Molly's affair with Kevin Webster, who could also be baby Jack's father.

Producer Phil Collinson recently told DS that the baby's arrival would be "huge".

"That'll be the beginning of the next chapter of this story," he revealed.

Bill Tarmey and Vicky Binns will both leave the ITV1 soap later with both exits expected to tie in with the show's 50th birthday celebrations.

Gail McIntyre will face jail again in Coronation Street after being framed for a suicide, according to a source.

The News of the World reports that the character - played by Helen Worth - will be held responsible for the suicide of Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac) in the autumn.

Gail was wrongly accused earlier this year for the death of her husband Joe McIntyre, spending months locked up as a result.

"[She] always puts her family first - and this will be no different. But her meddling will have terrible consequences," a source claimed.

During this plot, Natasha will apparently abort Nick Tilsley's baby after the pair split up, which leads to a bout of depression.

Actor Graeme Hawley, who plays John Stape, has dismissed reports that he was attacked in a bar by an angry fan.

Newspaper reports today claim that Graeme was caught in a headlock in a Manchester bar by a fan who was upset about John’s fling with Rosie Webster.

But Graeme was bemused by the story – saying that fans are never anything but friendly.

He said: “I suddenly started getting calls this morning from friends and family asking if I was ok – I had no idea what they were talking about until someone pointed out the story.

“I have never been grabbed in a headlock by anyone. Occasionally people will make jokey comments about John – particularly throughout the Rosie storyline, but it is always in good humour and I have never felt threatened.

Graeme went on to say: “It is true that I tend to avoid crowded bars but that is as much to do with the fact that I am 36 and a dad as the fact that I am a famous face! Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent has insisted that lesbianism will not just be a passing phase for her Weatherfield character Sophie Webster.

Fans of the ITV1 soap have seen Sophie find love with best friend Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson) this year, and the plot returns to the forefront in tonight's episodes when Ryan Connor (Ben Thompson) discovers the truth about the pair's relationship.

In an interview with This Morning today, Vincent was asked whether Sophie's decision to have a romance with another girl is merely "a phase she's going through".

The actress replied: "No. In the story conference, they wanted to point out that it wasn't a phase because it's not a phase to most people.

"We wanted to play it really real and just normal. You have a stereotype of what a lesbian is and it's not always like that."

Asked what the future holds for Sophie and Sian's relationship, Vincent teased: "You're just going to see the ups and downs of it all. Just stay tuned!"

I'm really glad about this, I'd have just hated it if the storyline had fizzled out and they broke up and Sophie went back to guys.

Corrie's Michael Le Vell has revealed that Kevin Webster and Molly Dobbs's baby will stay on the Street.

Speaking to What's On TV, the 45-year-old also claimed that his alter ego Kevin would never choose former mistress Molly (Vicky Binns) over his wife Sally (Sally Dynevor).

He said of the storyline: "He's desperate for [Molly and Tyrone] to go before the baby is born so it can be a case of 'out of sight out of mind' for him. Of course, he has to buy Tyrone out of the garage before that can happen.

"He feels he has no choice. If Sally hadn't had cancer he might be with Molly now, but there's no way back with her. And if Sally finds out about the baby she'll leave him and he'll be on his own.

"All I know is there's going to be a lot of high emotion and drama. I can't see the baby disappearing to another town. Otherwise what would have been the point of the story?"

Coronation Street character Gary Windass is set to serve in Afghanistan as a bomb disposal expert.

Windass, played by Mikey North, went AWOL earlier this year after meeting a soldier who was injured at war, but will overcome his fears by disarming improvised explosive devices.

The new storyline comes after show bosses decided to move away from typical domestic dramas, according to the News of the World.

A source said: "We will not be holding back on the realities of our men and women going to war. We'll be showing how it really is, warts and all."

Writers at the ITV1 soap are said to have consulted the Ministry of Defence regarding the storyline, which will be shown on-screen in October.

Coronation Street producer Phil Collinson has signalled that he is axing a number of young stars, a source claims.

According to The People, Collinson believes that the serial is becoming too similar to Channel 4's Hollyoaks.

"Phil feels Corrie has become too much like a teen soap like Hollyoaks," an insider claimed.

Chesney Battersby-Brown (Sam Aston), Ryan Connor (Ben Thompson) and Gary Windass (Mikey North) may be written out of the show, the report says.

The ghost of Liam Connor will make a shock return to Weatherfield to put the willies up bin man Trevor Dean.

Trevor will be forced out of town by the ghost of boyfriends past.


Liam, who was murdered by Tony Gordon, proves he’s still got a hold over his lover Carla Connor even from beyond the grave.

I read an interesting post on DS, that The Rovers and Underworld are the two main settings in the show, and how they always run parrallel to each other

I think they are bothreally important to that show, and who runs both the pub and the factory they consider carfully.

I think you have to be a certain type of character for both jobs and who runs it determins the stories that play out there. I don't think they always get it right i.e Luke strong.

In every pub the soap is the most central and the heart of the community. Isn't the highest honour a soap character have to become the land lady/landlord?
I know in coronation Street they always make a big deal when someone becomes a barmaid.

They see the pub as an almost the theatre space of the soap. were they play out all of the drama to the audience. The people behind the bar in run it are usually in the thick of the action and an important character or family i.e The Mcdonalds.

I do think underworld is really important because it gathers characters together and you need a strong character to lead it, and pull that all together. I think Carla is just brilliant at it and the best there has been after Mike Baldwin.

I think I read somewhere lately that both The Rovers and The Factory worlds arent really allowed to mix either, and is like a different terriotary on different sides of the street on purpose

I know what it was. It was an article with Alison King talking a while back now about how she never works with Katheine Kelly, Even though they are part of the same show and have had big stories in the last few years between them, they havent interacted at all and those stories have not ever met. She said they had both come up with ways to get them to share scenes together and they always got told a firm 'NO'.

one of the main reasons they were told 'NO', was because they had been purposely put in those different mannors and the stories that occur in those places don't really mix.

I remember thinking at the time that I can't remember the boss of the factory and whoever has the main stories behind the bar at the Rovers, ever really interacting in the others stories. I think Mike Baldwin once had a thing with Bet Gilroy but it was very very short lived.

Can anyone else remember if the two worlds have come together alot and was part of each others stories?
