If something's displaying the wrong price, I think it's perfectly reasonable to point it out to the staff and I don't see why that's something to look down on, especially as it's something that needs to be pointed out to prevent the same issue cropping up again later (as long as you're also reasonable in how you broach it and don't automatically go into "have a go at the staff" mode as plenty of customers do. Mistakes happen).

My issue is when customers argue about the price when they've looked at the wrong price ticket despite the right one being in the right place (and each ticket clearly saying what product the price is for).

Been on the phone to the manager and he confirmed the £2.29 'was probably right'.

He said the till prices are set by Iceland Control Centre and my local store had been getting weird product price increases like 9p, and 7p, and 13p. Often - HE SAYS - the shop staff don't know the increase figures themselves. That's why the freezer still said 5 for £2.

A case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.

I think you're failing to see the issue here. It's not about the 29p. It's about a store saying something costs one amount but in fact it's another amount.

Like Old Granny Johnson going down there, seeing her favourite cakes are 3 for £1.50 and ending up paying £3 for them at the till. She hands over money and doesn't look at the receipt. Do you get it now???

It's standing up for what's right.

I'm howling at you going back for your 29p but I probably would've done the same tbh

I think people fail to see that if a lot of customers are charged 29p more than they should be charged, that could add up to a significant amount that the shop, or even an employee, would pocket. It's basically theft.

Nothing wrong in mentioning you think you have been overcharged, as long as it is done politely.
I rang Tesco yesterday to tell them my fresh cream Victoria sponge cake and fresh cream strawberry trifle had gone awol, accepted their apology and refund and then went on to tell her how much I enjoyed the strawberries that arrived, best ever.

I used to love scamming Tesco Online in legitimate ways

Like when it first started, you could order an extra small leg of lamb for like £6,but the local store NEVER had them, so they would send a massive £15 one but only charge the £6. We did that every week for like a year . But they got wise to it in the end .
