It's mainly people online, who have no right to get offended over things, who do get offended, like (gags is a good example here so don't Yall shoot me down for bringing her into this) when she wore a niqab, people like Niall who are white as milk were going off on one on tumblr saying "omfg this is so racist/this is disgusting/she is trash" then there were actually people who wear niqabs as part of their culture who were like "wtf are you talking about, this is really ****ing cool that a pop star is embracing our culture"
I think at the end of that day, it's down to the people who are part of the culture being mimicked that have the right to be offended, not everyone else

lol... this doesn't surprise me. It's like white people on tumblr aren't allowed to say or do anything.
and as for the last part, I do agree. I just think people are way too serious and OTT about everything
