Never leave anything out. As a kid maybe a bit but even then it was always a habit for me to put certain things that go bad back in the fridge (like milk).

Now something I've done a few times is say I'm going to the kitchen to get a drink... I pour it in a glass, put the drink back in the fridge and then forget about the glass on the table and leave the kitchen with nothing in my hands. (or one time I put the glass in the fridge too)

This is what I've done every once in a while since my teens... I fear what I'll be like when I'm older
