Nah, theres a childcare facility in hotels for a reason why not use it?

It's not safe at all to leave kids alone in hotel rooms or anywhere really whilst the parents go out and have a drink, its neglectful.

It baffles me how anyone can condone leaving three children under 4, at night, in unfamiliar surroundings on the excuse that they thought they would be safe together. Like how? Would the 3 year old know what to do if one of the younger babies threw up? Or start choking? Or just got upset?

Let alone be able to in any way know how to protect them if a paedophile burglar broke in?

I have no words to think in what universe anyone would ever think that it was a good idea to leave them alone once, nevermind multiple nights on holiday

The McCann's could have accidentally killed Madeleine. Watch the Netflix documentary, Kate refused to answer 70+ questions at the immediate stages of the investigation, a sniffer dog smelt blood in their room and in their hire car, and the most weird thing of all is the fact that whilst still on Portugal, they washed Madeleine's teddy! So many weird things that don't add up, they could have accidently drugged her on some sleeping tablets and gave her too much, they are doctors after all but she's a child, makes sense since she was crying the night before as she couldn't find them!

And what price do you put on your children's lives?

Pay up, stay in or take them out with you....you don't just leave them

I completely agree with everything you've said, no responsible parent or guardian would even consider it.

When Luke was young even up to 8/9 years old, he would often wake in the night and even at that age he would have been terrified if there was no adult there, nevermind when he was 3/4. That is enough reason not to leave a child alone imo

This story is still so crazy to me, in that I genuinely don't know what to think/believe actually happened that night. There is SO much that still doesn't add up but it's also possible that a lot of their timings/memory of specific details is off just because the whole thing is a blur. Like sure they shouldn't have left the kids there alone but they did and blaming the parents for that just doesn't really help the whole thing tbh.

I really just don't think somebody got in through the window and took her though. I can't help but feel like Gerry (idk about Kate tbh) had something to do with it But then so awful to think that if they genuinely didn't so I wouldn't want to make assumptions about it either.

Loads of thieves get in through windows .. it’s the main point of access isn’t it ?
Everyone locks doors but leave windows open... especially in hot climates .

The suspect has a history of house breaking as well as the other offences

Oddly enough ...

There was a Portuguese lawyer on BBC yesterday who said that around the time in question -some bloke broke into an apartment in the middle of the night in the area but was noticed by the eldest girl ... he talked to the two sisters and left them alone !!
They told police that he had an accent like Dutch or German ..

There are no grounds for prosecuting in law.

This is one of those issues where many can relate to the pain of losing a child in whatever way Madeline was lost.

Equally many who find the Parents, for not any emergency but only to socialise.
Actually both leaving their children at night alone while they did so.

There's media which have expressed suspicion nearer home.
The Parents were interviewed as possible suspects too at one time.

There has been no court judgements of guilt or innocence as to any possible in this tragic loss of a child.
So nothing to charge anyone for as to having and expressing their opinion.
Immaterial of the side they may lean to.

Some however, who feel strongly as to child neglect will be livid, rightly, with any parents leaving children as young as these were at the time.
For ANY length of time.
May express that more forcefully than others.

If the truth is known ever in the future.
Then any who've made false judgements can apologise if they wish.
If the facts once proven, show the position they took was incorrect.

Nothing to prosecute for at all.

I have had my position changed from talking to those on this site over the years, and doing new assessment of what I originally felt.
Nice to see you back, joey.

I remember something about the window on the Crimewatch special they did. The last time they checked on the kids BEFORE she disappeared all the windows and shutters were all closed. Then Kate's version of events when she discovered Maddie gone was that the window was open with the "curtains fluttering in the breeze" or something to that effect, but the shutter on the window was inspected and would not remain up and in the open position without being held, and every time they lifted it, it would only fall back down.

It's been a few years since I watched it but there were definite inconsistencies to the window.

Edited to add: Or something about the shutter could only be lifted from the inside of the apartment.

They admitted the patio doors were left unlocked too, which baffled me.

Again only from memory I think kate said they broke in through the shutters on a phonecall home but then it was shown that the shutter were down, locked and undisturbed, locked.from the inside.

Yeah I don't remember all the details now either but I do remember thinking that it just didn't all add up

But still definitely possible that somebody did take her & maybe just their recollection of it isn't 100% which is also understandable.

They didn’t do it....their only crime was to leave their 3 children alone in an unlocked apartment. A decision they must regret every day of their lives. They had the option of childcare...all their friends were equally guilty.
She was abducted.
