Which the UK have made pledges and set target for the future for our carbon emission.

Until the rest of the world comes on board, there really isnt much else we can do cause it will weaken us against the countries who dont. That is one thing that cant happen if the end of the world is nigh, unfortunately.

The "targets" set are not enough.

Moreover, while the likes of China are bigger global polluters than the UK, the effects of pollution can be localised. I'm sure you can tell the difference between air quality in cities and the countryside? Well, crappy conditions like in cities can beget worse weather in those places.

Mother nature/the weather does not pick its targets. So britain could be zero carbon, but it would be pointless and would not protect us from flooding if no other nations did the same.

Maybe ,just maybe we are killing ourselves, not fair to blame others when we, every individual can take some of the blame,we are killing the planet ourselves,there are ways we can help but just don't as it doesn't suit us, we ALL need to take some responsibility instead of laying the blame elsewhere,that's just a cop out

Yes and no, we can do something in terms of boycotting companies and corporations that won't comply, but 90+% of the problem is caused by industry and there's nothing we can directly do about that at all.

I agree about industry,but,it's not like we are doing nothing about it,goals have been set and as someone else said,change won't happen overnight .

I don't knowingly buy anything from China. I know there may be some Chinese components in other things I buy... but I boycotted Chinese goods years ago and I wrote to the Chinese Embassy telling them so. Sadly, they produce cheap stuff and that's all some people are interested in.
