Exactly, that's why I don't think my barbers advice was necessarily correct because he's just indulging him. This guy now thinks he'll be justified in walking out and even that he's doing his child a favour rather than facing up to his own issues

Thats the trouble when you find a good barber...you don't want to offend them and possibly lose them. I would have been fuming if I was on a time restriction.
Its a shame he couldn't have shown you a bit more respect as you are paying for his time and cut...I think I might have said "I'm really sorry but I have to be back at work soon...."
