You seem to think I am against any kind of criticism of ethnic minorities, despite me calling a religion many of them follow gross, multiple times.

Mentioning the issues of Islam is fine when it's related to the topic at hand. When it's not, when it's mentioned as a way to try and score points, it' comes across as racially motivated hatred.

Of course there is a chance it was done by someone who following Islam and hates gays and wanted to erase what they thought was a symbol of them. My question is, when it was done in a town where just 1.84% of the population is non-white, why did you mind go to "it must have been a Muslim" first?
I do think it's worth dwelling on when there is an entire culture out there that thinks its ok to throw gays off buildings. The more that culture is brought into the country, the more incidents you are going to get. It's simple statistics. It seems insane for people to tie themselves in knots trying to ignore it

Why mention it? Of course it's a possibility. But it's also a possibility it's someone who is Catholic. Or Buddhist. Or an Atheist. Why mention just that one possibility?

Well it is a very strong possibility to be fair. That it could have been a muslim I mean.

"Most people with critical thinking skills and a shred of emotional intelligence wouldn't be put off sitting on a bench because of... a rainbow."

is not the same as

" i am quite sure more people will sit there to "chat" than in its current activist state"

For a start I don't insult people with my post unlike you do and secondly, I state its my opinion where as you make out it is the accepted opinion

I prefer my approach, perhaps on reflection you will too..

When was the last time a catholic hanged a gay from a crane just for being gay?

Nobody is ignoring it, they are just saying in this case it's pointless to dwell. If you care about statistics, why are you ignoring the statistic that the place in which it took place is almost 99% white and almost 99% of the towns population are either Catholic or Atheist. Do those statistics matter.

You know, one of the reasons Pride is still so important, as many an LGBT person will tell you, is because as a community we recognise the issues faced globally, not just locally. Nobody is ignoring it.

I am all for dwelling on homophobic incidences in the UK that are religiously motivated, regardless of the religion. Absolutely. However, in this particularly instance, there is no proof it was a religiously motivated attack and so speculation will just breed needless hate.

I do get the fine balance between being a country that embraces multiculturalism while ensuring we promote key values of modern Britain, of which many values of Islam faith, for example, really collide with. We need to limit that bleeding into our culture for the safety of the British people, but that doesn't mean speculating and finger-pointing without evidence or need. That's racially motivated for no reason and undermines tackling such issues when it IS relevant.

Is this a story about someone being hanged from a crane or was it a story about a rainbow being painted over?

What a bizarre reply. I'm not having this conversation with you anymore, you're not even considering the context which surrounds this discussion.

It doesn’t magically become acceptable because of any other cause. You don’t have to invent these bizarre double standards—just say it’s hateful and pathetic, full stop.

Erm, you and your fellow LGBTQ rainbow worshippersare claiming this is an attack on LGBTQ, just cause a rainbow got painted over...No proof whatsoever as to why it was painted over...never miss a chance to make it all about them.

"Rainbow bench that had nothing to do with Pride painted black by vandals"

https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/new...inted-10316026

so the whole thread premise is wrong and is based on a false accusation

can the poster alter the title?

It is only a moron would think it wasn’t. A homophobic moron with zero critical thinking thought this was a pride bench.

Eh? It is wrong though. You made a big deal of saying its nothing to do with pride? Now you're insisting it was homophobic when it may or may not have been. Unless you can read minds now. You've destroyed your own argument.

No no. I said the bench has nothing to do with pride. It was vandalised by an idiot that thought it was. You see homophobes don’t have much upstairs in terms of intelligence.
It’s pretty easy to see why it was vandalised. That much is evident.

Obviously not for some

It's far more likely to have been someone who was homophobic than someone who just prefers to sit on a black bench...............imo

Oh I see, you know exactly what was in this morons mind then? Silly me. I'm not saying it's not highly likely, I do agree with it being very probable but not so daft as to announce it as fact like you have.
