I get what you're saying, and I don't disagree that this whole situation has been overwhelming for everyone involved. But I didn't really agree that Foxx or Richardson deserves the level of criticism they're getting in this thread. Foxx reacted in the moment with limited understanding of Tourette's — and if that's the case, then the answer is education, not piling on.
People can respond however they feel in the moment, especially when they don't have the full context. That doesn't make them malicious. And Richardson's concerns about how the incident was handled don't automatically mean anyone is making light of John Davidson's diagnosis.
The reaction towards both of them feels a bit disproportionate, considering they were responding to a shocking situation, not causing it. If anything, this should be a chance for everyone — including Foxx and Richardson — to learn more about the condition.
