Eight is a bit of an exception but still true that most words starting ei are pronounced 'aye'

Thank you MTVN... Maybe what I should have said is that I'm taking that piece of information from the German pronunciation of words. I have a German maiden name that was often mispronounced and also I speak German. Anyhoo, I've used that example in the pronunciation of English words and it hasn't let me down yet.
