The other 4 episodes are minute by minute, so one minutes of it on screen is a minute on the soap, if that makes sense?

Watched tonight's episode. Watched Corrie a few times this week infact after like a year of not really watching it because it was a bit poo.

I have to say.. I enjoyed watching Corrie this week. Especially tonight's 1 hour episode. It was amazing!! :D Aww I want to give Tyrone a hug. I never was a fan of Mollie even when she first came onto the street. Never trust anyway with weird looking eyes. Mmm. I am guessing John will get away killing that woman!! He might as well chuck her in the fire after all :hugesmile:

It's a shame that the SFX team didn't have longer to work on the tram crash sequence & they said in the interview that they couldn't find a realistic way for it to crash as the Corrie art department had already placed the real tram carriages in their final resting positions on the exterior set before they made the CGI parts, hence the second carriage in particular rearing up like a dinosaur & smashing down onto the Kabin :joker:

It was good though, especially considering it is a soap & not a Hollywood film...

Did anyone else watch on ITV HD? The CGI tram looked hilarious on that, very very obviously fake, but then even some SFX on BluRay can look very fake, I guess that is the only problem with HD, it shows a little too much...

Those shots were kinda bull**** though as they totally forgot that Jubilee Terrace (complete with the Flying Horse) exists on the otherside of the viaduct, they were kinda shoddily done, they just overlayed real life pictures onto the presentation and contradicted themselves (The Rovers arch dissappeared on them at one point) where as that Weatherfield shown there is custom made CGI, complete with Jubilee Terrace

Hm, well if we look at it from a 'typical soap' point of view, the characters that are going to die are the ones that'll leave people with the most devastation. So in that case, Ashley leaving behind a wife and kids is one. Fiz leaving John after he's just killed that Charlotte woman would be two [maybe even the baby dying as well]. Mollie leaving Tyrone when he's just lost Jack a month back would be three, and the baby isn't his so then he'd be left with nothing. And then Peter leaving what's her face behind when she couldn't decide whether to marry him or not. That's four.

Steven Arnold has thanked Coronation Street fans and wished the soap well following the screening of his final episode.

Earlier tonight, fans saw the actor's character Ashley Peacock die tragically as he was crushed by falling debris at the destroyed Joinery bar.

In a pre-recorded message released on Corrie's official site tonight, Arnold has expressed his gratitude to viewers following his 15-year stint on the ITV1 show.

He commented: "I'd just like to say thank you for all the support I've had over the years - everyone's been great. Thanks for all your letters.

"And thanks for watching - I just hope the programme keeps going and does as well as it's always done, which I'm sure it will. So thanks very much and I hope to see you soon!"

Footage on the website also shows Arnold bidding goodbye to his castmates after filming his final scenes. In a tearful goodbye speech on the cobbles, he paid tribute to his screen wife Julia Haworth (Claire), describing her as "really special" and "probably the nicest person I've ever met in my life".

Coronation Street's 50th anniversary week continues tomorrow when an hour-long live episode airs from 8pm.
