Carolina won the coin toss, defer to the 2nd half, Denver to receive

EDIT: Little known rule in the super bowl is that if the team that won the coin toss doesn't defer, whoever is losing at Halftime, gets the ball at the beginning of the 2nd half.
Which is why Carolina defered.

Damn right Drew, I am currently tucking into a celebratory glass of port

What a game, think it will be rare to see such a dominant D performance again but they completely shut down an offense that has been so explosive this season. Not much of a thriller for the neutral but that game went as close to perfect for us as we could have wished for based on the two teams seasons

Cam didn't choke he's just had next to no tools and come up against the GOAT defence. Never seen anything like Von Miller

Quite glad I fell asleep in the third

Congrats Matthew and in quite happy for Peyton, that doesn't hurt half as much as it would have if it was Brady and the Pats

Cam wasn't being the most professional guy at his press conference, since he left early. However, they put up the media area right next to the Broncos and it's not like he's threw a fit.

I'd act the same way too. He shook hands with Peyton after the game and others.

In terms of ads, Doritos (Ultrasound and the Dogs were both good but the Dogs took home the 1 million), Toyota Prius Car Chase, were pretty good.

The worst ads were the Mtn Dew BabyPuppyMonkey thing and the diarrhea medicine ad.

King Gizzard
08-02-2016, 06:03 PM
The media all butt hurt that Cam stormed off. Peyton stormed off after losing the Super Bowl with the colts vs saints and nothing was said....wonder why

Drew.
08-02-2016, 06:07 PM
At least we've all learnt that the media and referees are just as bad over there as they are here

King Gizzard
08-02-2016, 06:09 PM
Not using it as an excuse because Broncos deserved the win but how on earth do you get that call wrong with all the time and cameras you have over there? At least over here referees get no help whatsoever so it's more understandable when they get something wrong . It should be impossible in the NFL

BBfanUSA

If you've been keeping a close eye on the season, the refs DGAF about if it's a catch or not.

Maybe that explains why NCAA has someone up in a booth in the press boxes reviewing each play

Jared Allen announced his retirement today on twitter by riding off into the sunset on a horse.
700340328729935872

Which isn't surprising that he would announce his retirement first and second on twitter by riding off into a literal sunset.

Also Charles Woodson will be joining ESPN as an analyst for their preshows for Monday Nights and Sundays mornings.

BBfanUSA
22-02-2016, 02:37 AM
Peyton Manning will retire officially tomorrow reportedly,

and then will join the NY Giants coaching staff as a QB Coach

BBfanUSA
26-02-2016, 04:10 PM
Peyton still hasn't retired. There's some story out there that while in college, Peyton sexually assaulted a trainer by brushing his balls and butt into her face. It's been out there for a while but it's recently has come back to light because there's a incident where he later mooned her near a African American teammate and the university tried to force the witness to leave the team or something.

Peyton played college for a SEC school where practically every school in the conference has done something wrong at some point so there could be some truth to the whole ordeal.

Also in way brighter news the NFL Combine is this weekend. One player is selling his cleats off to someone to raise money for a Domestic Abuse Charity I heard.

BBfanUSA

Could have gone straight in as starter in a Super Bowl winning team which he has been with ever since being drafted but no, he goes to the bloody Texans instead. Idiot

BBfanUSA
09-03-2016, 10:06 PM
He signed a 4 year 74 million dollar deal, maybe Elway thought that price was too steep? (Elway is the Broncos' GM right?)

because at that price, he's for sure starting for Houston. But I don't think they have much of a team outside of JJ Watt.

In the Drunk Tank
10-03-2016, 07:00 AM
Yeah its not worth getting into a bidding war at that price, he's got $37m guaranteed for a guy who's only started 7 games in the NFL

BBfanUSA
11-03-2016, 08:21 PM
Denver have traded a conditional draft pick in 2017 for QB Mark Sanchez of Philadelphia Eagles

Conditional means that the round the pick will be from will depend on Denver's performance this year. (IE Makes Playoffs 3rd, Makes Super Bowl 2nd, Wins SB 1st)

LA Rams will be on Hard Knocks this year.

A few rule changes being considered this year at the spring meetings

Permanent change to extra point free kicks, ball is snapped at the 15 yard line, same place as last season but the change would be permanent.
Touchbacks will now go to the 25 yard line

Already a proposal where a yellow/red card suspension system has been disapproved. It sounded kinda dumb anyway, I'd much rather have the college's Targeting review system.

EDIT:

I mucked up.

The two rule changes have been approved by the owners.

Also a system where if a player commits two unsportmanlike conduct fouls in one game, they're ejected from the game.
Also all chop blocks are now banned and the horse collar tackle rule has been expanded to protect the players

BBfanUSA

Some big commentary team notes regarding MNF, and possibly SNF in the future.

Mike Tirico announced he signed a deal with NBC Sports (SNF) which would allow him to work less dates, meaning he's leaving ESPN and MNF.

Al Micheals, the current PBP for SNF is getting older, and may put up his headset soon but not very soon. When Micheals retires, Mike is likely to replace him as PBP.

As a result of the move, Sean McDonough has been announced as his Tirico's replacement at ESPN. Jay Gruden is still the color commentator

NFLPA has filed a supreme court case against Goodell for overstepping his authority in trying to make sure Brady served the 4 game penalty, which was overturned by one court, only to be put back in effect again in another court.

Heads up, Due to Xmas being on Sunday, most games this weekend will be played tomorrow/today, Dec 24th

There will be two games on Sunday still however Ravens @ Pittsburgh and Denver @ KC

Monday Night will be Detroit @ Dallas, could be a must win for Detroit if Green Bay beats Minnesota on Saturday (GB and Detroit face each other in the final week, could become a defacto NFC North Championship Game)

I find it crazy that the NFL actually has games on Christmas Day, that would never happen here in any sports

I like it though, will be staying up for the Broncos Xmas day game

Also GB @ Detroit has been flexed to the SNF game

What's the fascination of this sport?

A sport that last's for an hour, but takes three hours to play, how are you kept entertained for the two hours of non-play?

I don't get it.

Firings/resignations this week

Fired
HC Rex Ryan and Cooridinator Rob Ryan Buffalo (before this week)
49ers GM (He's getting escorted out of the building right now as 49ers vs Seattle is going down) and their head coach Chip Kelly is expected to be axed after a year after the game is over

Resigned
Broncos HC Gary Kubiak, he's had health problems so not a shock. Elway's a excellent decision maker so he'll find a good replacement hopefully

Knowing Crosby I thought he was going to botch the 2nd.

The 31-28 one he scored was a bit low and I thought he wasn't going to make it.

I might not be able to watch the SB live this year since my job requires me to get up early every day almost.

Although I guess I could record it and then watch it when I get home (I can avoid spoilers pretty easy)

Vegas and overseas Bookies took massive losses yesterday, I knew Cowboys were way better than last year but this is a red hot GB team we're talking about here

15 minutes but the halftime is about 30-40 minutes because they have about 100 people set up the elaborate stage.

I'd say when the time runs out on the half you have 5-10 minutes before the show actually happens. Typically the hosts will talk about the first half when the stage is
